SparkyMalarky · 01/09/2008 10:54

OK I need to start sitting on my hands....realised that I can test from today......eeek (although have no symptoms at all to speak of, so probably won't!)

Jools1 · 01/09/2008 11:16

Morning all ! I hope you all had good weekends and didn't get too damp yesterday ? We had friends over, so Tapas, followed by an Elvis night in our local, a lazy Sunday morning, out for a yummy roast lunch and then hit the gym Sunday evening - killer spinning class and my legs don't feel like they belong to me today !

CD12 for me, and day 4 of fertile CM (have managed the requisite BD every 48 hours in that time ) - I've not monitored CM before so have no idea how many days of it to expect before Ov - last month, I ovulated very early morning on CD16 - not sure of other months, and Fertility Friend is predicting Ovulation any day from today onwards.

I occasionally catch my mind wandering and symtom spotting [blush} - even though I am pretty sure there is no egg yet - have had stomach cramps Thurs / Fri evening and at odd times over the weekend but am wondering if that is pulled muscles from too much gym activity !

Need to get a grip, keep busy and resolutely NOT symptom spot or even think about buying a test for another 19 days

Heebychick · 01/09/2008 12:03

How excting we are all starting to symptom spot!!! sparky you are our offical first, therefore you have to set the precedent! obviously you'll have a BFP with that pressure! When will you test?

I have decided that because i have so many other things going on (poss cyst etc) i wouldn't know the difference between symptoms for the tummy problems i've bee having or new ones. BUT i have felt some tightening and mild cramps in my tummy but of course not sure it's related to the tummy thing or not. So if AF does not arrive on CD26 i will begin to get mildy excited but not before!

jools your weekend sounds excellent, who was the elvis tribute? my BIL runs an entertainments agency and has a brilliant Elvis on his books (and WHAM but that's another thread!)

How is everyone else? nelix will you be doing the deed today? how exciting!!

WanabeMum · 01/09/2008 12:30

Hello everyone,

Yes Sparky in laws can be very helpful at times but i did manage to get away with "just tell me if you're ever planning on having any" and that's pretty good! No pressure of course
my DH keeps saying things like "just don't keep on or you'll spoil the suprise when we do start trying" not being obvious at all of course.

On another note, ive started to symptom spot too. Am feeling very bloated today and have a swollen lower abdomen as a result, although probably eaten too much!
Ooh Sparky i hope you get a BFP very soon, hopefully we will all follow suit! When do you plan on testing?

And Nelix im impressed that you know when your most fertile days are almost exactly, im so rubbish at spotting that sort of thing.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone this month!

SparkyMalarky · 01/09/2008 13:48

Golly - the pressure's on me now...Am actually starting to worry about getting a BFP now after my mc in June as I am sure I'll be a complete nutcase about it until/if I see a waving little bean at 12 weeks (and actually after that as well)....

Mylittlebubble · 01/09/2008 14:05

Hi Guys, Just caught up on your posts. I'm loving being part of this thread feel like it's a little club and we catch up everyday, cool. I am totally crap at spotting the OV symptons. Last time we just BD every other day. I haven't got the energy this time,, as have a LO now, give me some tips and things to look out for. I am having stomach aches, feeling tired and AF like pains. But I have had these for a couple of weeks.

AbstractMouse, CD5 AF due ??

nelix2000 · 01/09/2008 14:18

oooh everyone is already sypmtom spotting and I am still waiting for right CM!! lol....i thought it was here, but even tho I am fertile, I am not at my peak yet, so its a day by day waiting game now.....but as my donor pointed out when I conceived DS I didnt ovulate until late in my cycle (being days 19-23)!.....so sometime in the next four days we will insem I guess!!!but it wasnt today like I had hoped. If we were a straight couple we would be BDing left right and centre right now
Must admit its odd having a donor who is SO informed. And he wasnt my first choice, we had a neuro surgeon from london to start with and he knew lots anbout how CM works etc, between the two of them, the tought me lots!!!

OP posts:
Jools1 · 01/09/2008 14:27

Well I've only just starting investigating CM this cycle, so it is always possible that what I think is EWCM is not - I thought it had arrived on Thurs, then over the next couple of days, realised it wasn't as I kept checking and seeing the changes (sorry if TMI !! I figure we'll just keep BD'ing for a few days unless I get unmistakeable OV pains, just in case

DP seems to be quite enjoying the new regime anyway

SparkyMalarky · 01/09/2008 18:29

OMG!!!!!!!!!

Got home this evening, and decided on a whim to do my free CBD test..thinking, let's just get it out my system, do the test, and then not buy another one until after the w/e.

So, did the test (having had a wee an hour before hand) and remember that this is not FMU or anything and....

BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am already worried (dammit, am not even 4 weeks and yet I know) given I had a mc last time...so figure I might lurk on the knicker checkers thread and hang out here for a bit longer if that's ok?

BABY DUST FOR ALL!!!!!!!!!!

PS - if this all goes tits up and I get AF anyway (a real possibility seeing as I know so early) remind me that this at least shows that I can get PG after the mc will you......

WanabeMum · 01/09/2008 18:35

Wow congratulations sparky i hope all goes well and no MC this time!

Take care of yourself and keep positive, this could be it!

I hope we all follow suit! Positive thoughts ladies.

WanabeMum · 01/09/2008 20:25

Me again! Sparky any tips?
Oh and how far along were you when you had the MC last time? Maybe that's a milestone you could look out for?

Oh im so pleased for you, just praying im going to be as happy this time next week! (or the middle of next week, not really sure how long my cycle is so could be anytime next week).

Ooh Sparky has set the presedent ladies, get your BD-ing done now so we can all be the "due in May" thread!!

Speak to you all tomorrow xx

Mylittlebubble · 01/09/2008 20:52

Well done Sparky thats fab news. Please stay on the thread to give us all some of that baby dust it would be great for us to keep together and hopefully all get BFP's x

WellHeeby it's me and you next chick, good luck x When you going to test? I am not sure of my AF due date as it was my first since having LO not sure when to test? I'm sure I'll start testing every week from the 10th!!

Heebychick · 02/09/2008 09:30

OMG!!!!! SPARKY CONGRATULATIONS so brilliant, am really really excited for you!

I know how you nervous you must be feeling (i'm sure i'll be the same when it happens to me) but you must see this is a new start, different time and different place. This is the beginning of a wonderful journey (bit too cliched??)

I am genuinely so pleased, brilliant news!

So yes lets all follow your lead please!

BTW have called the DR this morning to see if they can hurry my scan along, have had awful pains over the weekend and feel more sick than ever, lets hope they can sort something as i have no idea if i am ovulating with all this going on x

Jools1 · 02/09/2008 09:37

Morning all !

My free test arrived yesterday but I didn't find it till this morning I thought I'd applied too late and wouldn't get one, so this must be a sign

Was getting confused last night as I thought EWCM had finished but I hadn't noticed any OV pains - seems to be more EWCM today though (CD13), so I guess I'd better get busy

How long do the swimmers stay alive in EWCM, and how long does it take them to swim to their destination on average - anyone know ?

Still smiling for you Sparky

Heeby The Elvis tribute thing was a local guy (St Albans / Luton area) who is really really good but I don't think he is actually signed up anywhere - just does it for fun / charity mainly. Love WHAM aswell - a friend went to see George Michael last week and said it was amazing

Just realised that I'm at a good friends wedding 2 - 3 days after AF is due, so I have an excuse to cave in and test - just to test whether I can drink or not !

nelix2000 · 02/09/2008 09:57

Hiya jools as far as I am aware sperm can live upto 7 days in optimum conditions, that is EWCM it actually nourishes the lil swimmers and keeps them alive for longer than CM(it kills them becuase its to acidic) and the FM we get before EWCM keeps them alive for 3-4 days, hence EWCM is the best time to conceive as the sperm live longer and the egg is released soon after. Most women can have EWCM for 1-4 days...so BD lol! you may not have ovulated, I personally ov after my EWCM (within 48 hours) the sperm can take 24 hours to reach the tubes and they sit waiting for the egg. I think I am right on the timescale but dont quote me on it. One way or another a sperm will wait for the egg somewhere in the right place...thats why there are so many! goodluck!

Jools1 · 02/09/2008 10:04

Thanks Nelix

I'd been googling, but got massively varied answers, so thought I'd try the experts !

If I follow a normal pattern, I shall OV on CD 14, 15 or really really early on CD16. I was really really hot in the night - windows open, threw off the duvet, and still feel hot now, so it might be imminent ..

So, it sounds like BD'ing on CD9, 11 and (hopefully !) 13 and 15 might be optimum timing.

Fingers crossed !

SparkyMalarky · 02/09/2008 10:06

Morning all.... Convinced myself that the test must have been wrong so did another one this morning....

Still BFP!! It's one with that fancy conception thingy too (my free test was the one yesterday Jools - I think they're good omens )and it seems right (1-2 weeks since conception).

Right ladies, big sprinkling of baby dust for you all...

back later to catch up on the gossip

Heebychick · 02/09/2008 10:11

Hey here's our new list ....

AbstractMouse, CD5 AF due ??
MakingaFamily, CD14, AF due ??
Deanychip??

Sparky BFP!!!!
MyLittleBubble, AF due 10th Sept?
Heebychick, AF due 10th Sept
Funtime, AF due 13 Sep
Jools1, AF due 17/18 Sept
Yellowflowers, AF due 19/20 Sept
Nelix AF due 16 sep (ish)

SparkyMalarky · 02/09/2008 11:02

What a fabulous list!

Have you managed to move your appt heeby hon? how you feeling?

Heebychick · 02/09/2008 11:41

Yes let's hope the BFP's keep coming!

Thanks sparky as for the scan, i have called the Dr who has called the Hosp who's systems are down so they are not able to tell me if they can bring me forward at all!

so have to call them after lunch. but have had a potential appointment at a local private clinic offered for tonight at 6.30pm! it'll cost £75 but i'm wondering whether to do it. My DH says do it if i'm that worried but i think secretly he is thinking it's probably me being overly concerned over nothing and impatient.

So not sure what to do really, will call the NHS hosp after lunch and if they can fit me in within the week i'll wait if not i might do the private option.

I have been in a fair bit of pain this weekend, the pain in my side is awful (like a bad stitch) and i feel so sicky and bloated. Hmm.

so how are you feeling mummy!!!??

Heebychick · 02/09/2008 13:33

Just to let you know guys, my scan has been brought forward to this Thursday at 4pm! (he who shouts loudest in all that!) which is great, i will be pleased to get some answers (hopefully) and a bit of an idea of what's going on.
x

SparkyMalarky · 02/09/2008 15:39

Hey - that's great news! Good shouting!

(am feeling v fine by the way, a few AF like cramps, but i figure that's ok... Actually, am still in shock and praying the high hormones I must have (AF isn't due for 3 days) are a good sign!)

Jools1 · 02/09/2008 16:32

Great news Heeby - hope all goes well on Thursday

Sparky - I'm really not sure how I'd feel in your position, but am guessing I'd have purchased a job lot of sticks and would be peeing on them twice a day
