Can i ask your opinion ladies .....

for the last 3 cycles (since MC) i have had a slight (sorry if TMI) brownish bleed on CD25 in the evening then nothing overnight then a full AF the next morning. So my question is, would you class the small bleed the night before as day 1 or the next full blown day as day 1?

Jools1 · 05/09/2008 22:26

Heeby - I've asked the same question, as I always get a lot of brown a day or two before the red blood - apparently CD1 is the first day of RED and full flow, not spotting

Heebychick · 05/09/2008 23:45

Hi jools .. ah that's what i thought, i've been counting it as that but glad you've confirmed it, it makes sense huh.

How are you feeling ?

nelix2000 · 06/09/2008 09:45

good morning ladies!......thanks for the hug heeby much appreciated

we are off kite flying today, to take both our minds off it, DP was as disappointed as I was/am but there is still an outside chance. I def had FM on tuesday so if I had not ovulated then at least the swimmers would be right at the door waiting! xxx

Morning all

Nelix i had loads of CM yesterday and was thinking the same as you. In the week i ordered a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility had a read last night and it says that after ovulation there is a second surge of oestrogen which occasionally causes a day or two of creamy/sticky cervical fluid. so fingers crossed thats whats happened to both of us

Have a fab weekend all

Jools1 · 06/09/2008 11:38

Good Morning

Well I think I am in the same boat as you Nelix - am pretty sure that OV was Thursday evening or Friday morning but have been seeing a bit of EWCM yesterday and today, so am glad to read your post makingafamily Heeby - OV pain has gone (although I'm in pain from a killer legs bums and tums class at the gym this morning !) I generally find I can avoid symptom spotting for the first few days of the 2WW and only get obsessed from around 6DPO, but did get a bit surprised last night when my nose started literally streaming !

nelix2000 · 06/09/2008 17:21

sooo glad I am not alone lol!....thanks makingafamily I feel somewhat releived!

Kite was fun....v cold here!!!!

OP posts:
Heebychick · 06/09/2008 18:21

jools i have done exactly the same thing, i relax (kind of ) until 6 DPO which was when i spotted my nausea and sore boobs with last PG. But of course this time it's a case of spotting the disappeared symptom or spotting the different symptom!!

But i have been having small cramps in my tummy this week, not had those before (except when PG) although not reading much into it. Still have 5 days to go and not holding out much hope.

nelix glad you were able to get out and enjoy some quality time, my DH loves kite flying but the first time we took his new flashy one out on to the forest we took the dog as well and he just kept running after it and ragging it when it plumeted to the ground! as you can imagine the poor kite didn't make another outing.

makingafamily excellent news about the CM, that makes me feel better too! will not worry about that next cycle then! Any more good tips from the book?

Well i shall bid you a nice weekend ladies, X factor is on tonight!! so DD is having bath now with DH whilst i pour a non alcoholic drink and munch on snacks! yum!

xxx

funtimewincies · 06/09/2008 19:48

Hi, back today and so chuffed to hear the fabulous news Sparky, congratulations ! I've just yelled to dh that 'one of us has had a positive' and received the the 'oh, lovely' of one who just doesn't get it .

Heeby - pleased to hear that there is nothing obviously nasty in there, although it doesn't necessarily help.

Holiday was fab. It rained a lot, but as ds (21 months) thinks that splahing in muddy puddles is the most fun anyone can have, it was a hit. Although we did have to tip water out of his wellies and wring his socks out on one occasion, not having realised for most of the walk that it had all gone over the tops - bad mummy .

Symptom spotting-wise, nothing exciting to report. If I'm not this month then it'll be right side next month and so not a decent chance until the end of October!

WanabeMum · 07/09/2008 14:38

Good afternoon ladies,
Welcome back Funtime, glad your DS enjoyed his holiday!

Heeby I've been having cramps too and never had them before until the day before AF arrives but have been having mild cramps on and off since last weekend so never know.

I'm getting a bit nervous now because my AF could arrive anytime this week and im dreading it! I'm so paranoid that everytime i go to the loo im knicker checking! (TMI) although so far so good. Bet my inlaws wondered what I'd been doing to come out of the loo with a smile on my face! (we were up there for lunch today, very nice too).

Hmm im keeping everything crossed for you all ladies and am now starting to sit on my hands because really i could start testing soon as day 28 is tomorrow! but im trying to hols off until Friday

Bye for now xxxx

funtimewincies · 07/09/2008 14:47

What willpower Wanabe! I've woken up this morning with sore boobs (usually only the left one is sore in the run up to AF, very odd I know) and some cramping. AF not due until 11th-13th so now getting naughty testing-related thoughts (slaps hand away from the Boots advantage card).

So...problem is, I was cleaning the glasses in the cabinet yesterday and rediscovered my darling martini glasses of pre-ds days. Do I buy some martini during my weekly supermarket trip? If I do, I'll be pregnant and it'll be wasted and I probably shouldn't have a drink now just in case and if I don't, I won't be pregnant and I'll be looking longingly at a wasted opportunity to wallow in pre-baby nostalgia.

If you see what I mean . What shall I do?

WanabeMum · 07/09/2008 14:58

Hmm that's a tough one. You seem supersticious so i would buy it and if you are PG then im sure that a wasted bottle of martini would be the last thing on your mind! (or you could give it to someone else!) at least then if you're not PG you will be able to drown your sorrows?

On the Willpower note i can assure you i have very little! im absolutely desperate to test but the only thing stopping me is the result! i've convinced myself that it is too early so the result would be negative anyway then i'd be disappointed! My DH is trying to convince me to test on Wednesday as we go away with his parents for the weekend friday afternoon! eeek!!!

Oh dear, it could all change if im home alone at any point i could be tempted! may have to ask DH to hide the test kits i think!

funtimewincies · 07/09/2008 15:38

I love you Wanabemum and would have your babies if you weren't already busy in that area - martini it is ! I'm not usually superstitious, but am the sort of person whom bad luck follows around, so may be I should be .

Test kits call to you at strange times of day. I'm determined not to use the loo in the upstairs bathroom during the day, but to use the downstairs loo, to avoid being tempted by the pathetic lonely cry of the tests .

WanabeMum · 07/09/2008 17:40

Ha ha! Then you should feel for me as i only have one loo and the tests are in the cabinet right by the side of the toilet, so i totally understand how you feel but unfortunately do not have any escape!

Oh dear this is the "testing" time in more ways than one. The 2ww is definately the hardest part and now im ALMOST at the stage where i can test im actually dreading a BFN so am too scared to. Was sat downstairs earlier and was convinced that my AF had arrived or was about to because i had the cramps again and then an overwhelming feeling of nausea followed. So took myself off to the loo to a) knicker check, and b) prepare myself for the lovely vomitting action. Needless to say neither occurred and now im even more confused!

oh well, have to pop and see my parents now so will check in again later tonight.
Bye for now xx

Jools1 · 07/09/2008 17:47

Wanabemum - last month, I was feeling nauseous and dizzy from 6DPO onwards - it was only after the feeling continued after AF arrived that I realised a bug was going round the office

Today I've been ridiculously emotional, crying at things on TV etc and other threads on here - at 2 or 3 DPO, the rational side of me knows there is absolutely no physical way this is a symptom - please somebody tell that to my imagination !

Am off to Wales on business tomorrow, so hoping I can distract myself for at least part of next week !

Heebychick · 07/09/2008 20:01

Hi ladies, wannabe i think we are a kindred spirit this month, i have been having cramps for a few days now, and very different cramps to the pains i'd been having with whatever was/is wrong with me. I've been having a sort of tightening, which is weird, but not getting too excited as have had this all before and it meant nothing ... but these cramps are different! or maybe it's because i know AF is due tues/wed and i'm obviously not being sucessful in pushing the 'am i am i not' though to the back of my mind!!!

I have become an obsessive knicker checker too, i almost want to get some implantation spotting as that might be a sign, but in honesty i dont want anything really! def no AF!!

So according to our list ... who's next?? is it me and wannabe?? eeekkk!! When will you test wannabe? jools nelix what about you guys?

Heebychick · 07/09/2008 20:04

Oh crikey it is me!!! and bubble!!! trouble is if my cycle is now 26 days (which it has been for 3 months since MC) do i trust that it will be this way from now on, so test from CD26 or do i wait until the previous CD32 which was what i had always been? any thoughts girls??

AbstractMouse, CD5 AF due ??
MakingaFamily, CD14, AF due ??
Deanychip??

Sparky BFP!!!!
MyLittleBubble, AF due 10th Sept
Heebychick, AF due 10th Sept
Wannabemum, AF due 12th Sept
Funtime, AF due 13 Sep
Nelix AF due 16 Sep
Jools1, AF due 17/18 Sept
Becky, testing due 17/18 Sept
Yellowflowers, AF due 19/20 Sept

WanabeMum · 07/09/2008 20:10

Hey Jools i keep trying to convince myself that it's not a symptom but i don't listen heehee never mind.

Thanks Heeby, at least im not alone with these weird crampy things, thats a good description though, tightenings. I can honestly say i've never had cramps before my AF and that's not my imagination, but im very aware that it also doesn't mean im pg either. I thought i saw a small brown spot (TMI, sorry!) in my knickers last night but i'm on CD27 now not sure how many DPO as no idea when it was! so surely that's too late for implantation bleeding? plus there is always the possibility (and a big one at that) that it's my mind playing tricks on me too.
So yes looks like it's me and you to test first Heeby eek! still a little undecided about when to do it though. DH wants me to do it tomorrow but if my AF isn't actually due until Sunday then that would be way too early, on the other hand if my AF is due tomorrow then it would be fine. Any advice anyone?!

Jools1 · 07/09/2008 20:11

I've got a while yet !! My average luteal phase is 13 days, so Fertility Friend suggests I test at 14DPO - Sept 19th or 18th, depending on whether I go from the day OV pain started or finished ...

I'm at a wedding on Sept 20th, so would like to know either way before then 2 cycles ago, a CP resulted in a BFP at 11DPO and then an early and very heavy AF - I'd rather not know next time, so will try my hardest not to test early

I don't rate my chances really - only one BD actually in the 3 day most fertile window. However, I am having serious mood swings today - if it was later in my cycle, I'd swear AF was on her way, but I'm only 2 or 3DPO, so too early for any symptoms aswell of-course !!

I was also googling thrush remedies earlier, as I have a bad bout that has come on since Friday and wanted to check I can use Canesten if there is a chance I could be PG - found out it is OK and also found out that thrush is caused by PH changes in the vagina, one of the causes being hormonal changes - another symptom for me to obsess over

Good luck sitting on your hands and not testing - I am full of admiration for your restraint

Jools1 · 07/09/2008 20:15

Oh, and when I had the CP, I had no nausea but did get quite dizzy, spotting at 8DPO, diarrhea and cramps at 7 and 8DPO, lower back pain on one side at 8DPO.

I also had, from around 3DPO, a kind of "fluttering" down below. That, plus killer boobs is what led me to googling symptoms and finding Mumsnet

funtimewincies · 07/09/2008 20:18

Oooh Heeby, I want to say test at CD26 'cos I'm such a nosy old bag, but I suppose I should say wait...sod it, TEST!

Jools the 2ww is such a pain. Being away for the first week has really helped this time, but ds' day in nursery when I'll be by myself is going to be a trial .

Maybe I should get dh to take the clearblue test to work with him .

WanabeMum · 07/09/2008 20:21

Ooh Heeby think i'd be tempted to test at CD26 too! but that's because im impatient. Plus if it is negative you can always do another one later on! (isn't it easy to give out advice?! not so easy to take it though huh? )

nelix2000 · 08/09/2008 08:52

good morning ladies! I am not symptom spotting at all and am amazed at how quick this week has passed! heeby why not meet in the middle and test cd 29?

I am uttlery confused....before GFJ(grapefruit juice) I had little EWCM Now I have had it for a week!! It went away for a few hours and ALL day yeterday, but back this morning now unless thats a sign of pregnancy I am a t a loss!!I have no idea as I never had this checking with my ds, i just got on with it! lol! so either I got timing bang on or way off!...grr lol!GFJ helped but it then made toooo much!......

OP posts:
Mylittlebubble · 08/09/2008 10:08

Nelix - I am starting to think you spend all day knicker checking . I do wish I was more in tune. I might start making a note so I am more informed next month.

What does DPO mean?

Well my AF is due on Wednesday and I have no symptons of her imminant arrival. Not getting excited just think my cycle is longer than normal. I just don't have the feeling you've done it this month. We were on a mission in the first half of my CD days but then we're pretty lacked later on. Who knows time will tell

yellowflowers · 08/09/2008 10:30

I had grapefruit juice every day for last ten days and guess what - hardly any ewcm at all this month!!!!!!!!!!!!!
