have been sitting in afternoon.

xx

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/08/2008 18:31

sounds good tink- you're getting there for that quinny!! which is it your after a buzz?

think i might have found a way around fireworks... my sister is coming here and we are going to go with the kids instead!!

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 24/08/2008 19:29

Dalrymps · 24/08/2008 22:51

Oog tink, just quickly, I have the Buzz and I love love love it. Make sure you get the shopping basket for underneath (sold seperately).

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 25/08/2008 09:27

morning
thanks dalry
yep was planning on getting shopping basket extra, rain cover for maxi cosi car seat and foot muff plus adapters for car seat.
did you get carry cot?

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 25/08/2008 09:27

i have an itchy red lumpy bum delights of pregnancy.

Dalrymps · 25/08/2008 10:03

Tink - No we didn't get the carry cot but we bought ours when ds was about 10 weeks old as the buggy we had was crap. We don't have the matching car seat either as we'd already bought another one at that point.

We'll probably use it for the next lo and might buy the matching car seat next then.

Not sure if we'll get the carry cot, ds was still small when we got it and looked a bit lost in it at first but he looks great in it now. The seat lies flat in the facing you position but it is seat shaped iyswim so their bum would sink down in to it a bit.

What colour you thinking of getting? I got mine through an ebay shop and it was a lot cheaper, I got the buggy, footmuff and shopping basket for the same price as just the buggy was in mothercare

Diege · 25/08/2008 10:12

Hi Dal, Tinks! Loving all this buggy talk. I've got a Quinny Zapp which I love, though for next baby will be succombing to the Bugaboo Bee. I had promised dh we'd use the Jane I got with dd3, but it was such a faff putting up and down, and I ended up using the Zapp from 6 months or so anyway.
Have out house viewer coming round at 1pm, so better get tidying (again!). Hope everyone is enjoying the BH, rain or no rain! Oh had full explosion goff last night (only day 8, but have to get back into swing of things), so day off today, that back in the saddle Tues, THurs, and Sat. That should cover me up and until day 14, but then will have to wait till day 17 which may put me out this month!

Dalrymps · 25/08/2008 10:28

Just went on fertility friend website, it said I ovulated on 17th Aug, my AF was from 6th aug so would that be counted as CD12? Just wondering if you count it from the 1st day of your last AF.

Dalrymps · 25/08/2008 10:32

Tink - by the way, sorry you've got an itchy lumpy bum! I've had a terribly itchy neck for a few weeks now, can't work out whether it's excema, an allergic reaction or some kind of sweat rash, anyway, after trying lots of creams sudo crem of all thing seems to be helping now. Maybe you should put some on your bum?

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 25/08/2008 12:31

did try sudocream seems to be better without feels better than it did yesterday more itchy than aching which is good.
cant decide whether to get carrycot or not was going to put baby in car seat mostly when little till they can go in the seat.
was thinking of getting apple green or red
good luck diege

Dalrymps · 25/08/2008 12:36

Ah guess you'll just have to grin and bear it then, the bum thing I mean...

It's a tough decision whether to get the carry cot. You'd probably use it for quite a short period of time but it depends how often you go out walking I suppose. If I could afford it I might have got one but I don't think you necessarily need it iyswim. Probably best to have a look at one up close with the seat in flat position and see what you think.
Green or red sound good, we were going to get the red one but ours was on offer (it's capri which is turquiose)

Diege · 25/08/2008 14:58

Ooh I love that caori colour Dal - good for girl or boy too .
Well house viewing went well - v.enthusiatic woman, but we're not sure how she's fit 3 teenage sons into our place as it's too small for us! Still, I guess all teenage boys do is sit in their rooms and play computer ganmes anyway! Fingers crossed for both of us TINKS that we get offers! .
Off out for a walk now with dh and dds, though huge black cloud on horizon .

Diege · 25/08/2008 14:59

capri!

GruffaloSoldier · 25/08/2008 17:17

I want the capri one! A bit early to be thinking but I had chosen pushchair before we were even talking about waiting to ttc! Will probably get car seat and carrycot as family members are pitchin in for the cost. And hey its my first

I am really struggling with nausea...am wearing sickness bands now - had to get kids ones as my wrists are small so they are fluorescent yellow with orange spots Also got loads of food that I do actually fancy from tesco including pretzels (which are a godsend!) ginger beer and biscuits and strawberry nesquik!DH is delighted as we normally only have healthy food!

Above all cough candy is doing the trick but Im worried about my teeth falling out so am trying to try different alternatives and only have the sweets if I go out.

I have also bought a lovely scrap book that I am going to stick pics in of things I want fot the baby so that I don't get too tempted in buying stuff so early. It was my sisters idea - and I think its a lovely one!

First midwife appointment on Sat - can't wait!

Sorry for rambly post!I think I will shut up now!

firesam · 25/08/2008 17:40

hello all can I join you? am a reg under guise! prob know a lot of your ladies, DP & I had a scare this month, (BFN this am) which sealed things for us as we were both gutted, so for one month only we're going to be trying, and then wait until after xmas to start properly in January (hope i'm not too early to join you) - as althou we won't 'actively' be trying - we also won't 'actively' be not trying iycwim.

so I am on CD?? (thought CD 1 last fri but have only been spotting and felt horrid hence the test today after it stopped on sunday) but spotting seems to have recommenced. Usually have 28 day cycles. I have 1DS of 2.5. (not DP's) also had 3 m/c;s lets hope this next bean sticks.

am looking forward to getting to know you all.

Diege · 25/08/2008 17:59

Hi Gruf! Lovely idea about the scrapbook to keep track of things - plus will be good fun to show to little one in later years
Hi FIRESAM, and welcome to the wagon! We are all in various stages on the journey, waiting to ttc, ttc, and duffed . Sounds like a good plan that you and dp have - there are pthers too with Jan start date . Sorry to hear about your mcs -I had a mmc last month, so am only just starting to ttc again. This is a lucky thread though so welcome aboard!

scrapbook is a great idea
welcome firesam good luck trying soon very exciting

GYo · 25/08/2008 19:36

Hi Everyone

Its been quite quiet here over the w/e- guess everyone has been busy!

Diege and Tink- good luck with the viewings, think September is a good time to be looking for buyers? and good luck Ses for 26th! Fingers crossed it all goes through ok.

All this talk of prams is exciting. I started to look at them last night and I had NO IDEA you could spend so much money on prams and car seats etc.

Diege- interested to hear you have the Quinny Zapp. I was looking at it (albeit a bit early ) as I?ve got a very small car and I heard it folds up small. Did you use it from birth with the maxicosi seat?
Tink- is that what you are doing with the Buzz?

Gruff- sorry you are feeling rough ? hopefully it will pass soon, how many weeks are you? Great scrapbook idea! Im keeping my pregnancy tests that still say positive loud and clear as well as all the scan stuff. Was going to do a box of things but scrapbook is nice idea!

Welcome FireSam! ? this is a really great thread!

Hi to everyone else

I?ve had a busy weekend with trips to coast, family, shopping, cleaning, more painting and tomorrow I?ve got the day off so I?m going for a nice facial.

GruffaloSoldier · 25/08/2008 19:50

hi gyo

Your weekend sounds good! We are planning to do some painting over the next couple of days as we have had the paint for months!

Im 7 weeks roughly but not certain! I cant wait to have a scan and find out exactly where I am! Not knowing is driving me crazy.

Diege · 25/08/2008 20:10

Hi GYO! Your weekend sound svery busy and fun . LOL at pram price ignorance - it's a whole new world . Re: the zapp I used from 6 months, though I knwo people who used it happily from birth with car seat adaptor. I don't drive, so wanted a carry cot lay flat style pram that can get on buses and trains easily. Have to say that as a pushchair the zapp is great - much lighter and more manoevreable than maclarens, althugh I did have to buy a special bag and basket set from E-bay so I had soemwhere to store stuff (think new model does have some storage?)
Hi GRUFF! Do you have to wait until 12 weeks for scan? Or do they do them earlier where you are? Not long till 12 weeks now though!
Right, have evening to myself as dh out with friends. I quite fancy that Timothy Spall programme about GB's last hangman should be a laugh

GYo · 25/08/2008 20:27

Hi Diege, Gruff.

Thanks for the Zapp info Diege, think I will have to look at all the ranges more closely when its a bit closer to the time.... certainly not yet!

(though i have a strange compulsion to buy things, paint rooms etc- a far cry from how I felt a couple of weeks ago!)

7Wks Gruff! Wow, seems to have gone quick. Good luck for the MW appointment!

off to relax in the bath with a glass of cold whitewine iced water

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 25/08/2008 21:03

evening

hi gyo yes that it what i was going to do wih buzz use car seat on frame and buzz 2008 model comes with 2 seats 1st one is from birth and lies flat so was going to use that 2.
i am abit sore down there and is aching abit when i walk is alot better than yesterday only aching in the eve think i have been over doing it by walking around tidying too much, making sure i sit down lots now

GruffaloSoldier · 25/08/2008 21:13

Hi Diege,

Doc said that scans can be from 8 weeks but not sure how soon mine will be - I guess I will find out Saturday. If I do go earlier it will be to ascertain how many weeks I actually am as I don't know as didn't have a period since coming off the pill!

Dalrymps · 25/08/2008 21:47

Hey everyone,

Diege - yeah thats why we chose that colour, thought it'd look nice with pink accessories for a girl if we have one and good for ds too. FIngers crossed for an offer on your house!

Gruffalo - weird, you're eating almost the same things as I could stomach when first pregnant. I also ate pretzels, biscuits (digestives/rich tea), nesquik, and ginger beer. Iirc I then moved on o sparkling water and hommous on pitta bread. I still have to drink sparkling water every day now and ds is 10 months!

Firesam - Welcome, everyone is very friendly here. Hope you get your BFP soon. I'm waiting to start ttc in Jan . Very curious to know who you are usually!

Tink - Yeah it is exciting the ff site said I ovulated, kind of weird to know exactly when it happened! Good luck with the house selling, hope you get an offer . You were saying the 2008 buzz comes with 2 seats, is that seperate to the carry cot? Is it a new thing they're doing?

Gy0 - sounds like you've had a fun packed weekend!

Well, off to read my pregnancy, baby and you magazine (don't know if I mentioned but i'm addicted to magazines).

Night all x
