last not las(z)y!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/08/2008 08:44

diege- the smell of mellon makes me feel VERY sick!!! haha!! earlier in the week i fancied some so got a nice melon, cut into it the other night and was nearly sick just from looking at it!! well with DD i had no sickness, so thats what makes me think boy.... and i've just got a feeling (and my 'feeling' was right with the other 2) but i do also think i could just have this feeling because i want another boy so badly!!

GYo · 22/08/2008 08:48

Poor you Glask. Melon is my standard nausea relief food - hangovers, indigestion, MS etc.

hopefully the rest will help you today.

How old are you DDs Diege?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/08/2008 08:50

aww- mum and dad have said that my aunty is making them lunch while they are there so it's not nice to take 2 extra mouths (which i understand), so i'm left to cope alone!!

oh well, i'll just have to brave it, the rain has stopped so i'm off to get myself and the kids dressed and brave it now before i get worse and end up wallowing in self pity!!

sorry for missing everyone else's posts... been very self obsessed thins morning!! will catch up properly later i promise!!

GYo · 22/08/2008 08:58

Awww thats a shame. Dont worry about the posts glask- take care of yourself and rest!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/08/2008 09:33

haha- i just had a capful of ginger drink about 15mins ago and i feel fine now!!!! I may just have to go and buy some more bottles now!!

anyway, didn't post yesterday as was out all day...

Will pop out to the library and the shops, then will come and catch up if i still feel ok!!

Diege · 22/08/2008 09:53

That's good Glask . I think you can also take ginger capsules in pregnancy which might be an option if it helps?
Hi GYO, how are things? My dds are 7 (just), 5 (6 in Nov) and 2 (3 in Nov). As there are only 16 months between dds 1 & 2 the plan is for no.4 to sort of even things up .

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/08/2008 11:14

Diege- you have the same sort of age gap between your dd1 and dd2 as i have between ds and dd, although dd came at 38wks so there's 15.5mths between them!!

anyway, i managed to get to the post office, the bank, the shops and the library and not one little bit of sickness the whole time!!

just ate my first bit of food so far too (a handful of grapes) and still feel ok!! so far so good with the ginger!! I may just see if my local health food shop does the ginger capsules too as it may be cheaper than ginger drink!! always a bonus!!

as for your GOFing diege- i do hope you OV on time!! or late enough so that a GOF on cd17 works for you!!- oh i miss the days when i planned the night's to pounce on DH!! haha!!

Diege · 22/08/2008 11:47

Small gaps are great I think. Found it pretty easy with dd2, even though she ws just 15 months when dd2 was born. Think it was because I was still in 'baby mode' and hadn't started to get my freedom back just to lose again!
Should be OK on gof-front as dh is now going on cd 14, and back cd 17. Much prefer him to be here 12/13/14 as that's when I get my EWM usually .

Have a question too about gof-fing. I'd always though that when you got the EWM you goffed every day until it was gone. My book tells me every other day though, even when EWM to allow stores to build up. I pretty sure we'll try that, but wondered if there anyone knew otherwise?

Diege · 22/08/2008 11:48

Oh and good going on the (none)sickness front! Could be that you have got 'classic' morning sickness where it clears up as the day goes on . Am thinking maybe boy for you now that you've responded to ginger

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/08/2008 12:02

haha- good girl diege- agreeing on the boy front!!

when we started ttc we just GOFed on every night from about cd10-cd16/17 to be safe... sometimes missing a day or so... however i'm pretty sure the last month we only GOFed the day before and after my + OPK because i'd felt ill on OV day!! !

GYo · 22/08/2008 12:33

Thats a lovely age gap for you Diege and you Glask. 4 children is lovely - not sure I will make that unless I have twins or something next time (i do harbour a secret wish to have twins!)

Glad you are feeling ok Glask!

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 22/08/2008 12:36

thats what my sicness was like glas wks 6-11.
only a wk and then i will know
we have managed to sort out one cupboard now stopping for lunch before doing another cupboard.
gr8 news about sickness i found polos helped

Diege · 22/08/2008 12:47

Everton mints helped for me
Good going on cupboards-front Tinks - it's hard to stop isn;t it once you've started!
I'm plowing through bin bags of winter clothes at the moment, listing bits and bobs on e-bay. I'd forgotten how much I hated listing things! (and also how much stuff I'd got!)

Diege · 22/08/2008 12:52

Gyo, most people think I'm mad wanting 4, esp when I work pretty much full-time (work kindly squeezes my full-time hours into 4 days). They don't realise it's a heck of a lot easier working than staying at home! I'd actually quite like twins too, though then would have the yearning to even it up again with another one (I have a thing about odd numbers )

GYo · 22/08/2008 13:12

not mad at all. my sister has 4 and while logistics are sometimes hard, its lovely - such a sense of family. Fingers crossed for twins!

calsworld · 22/08/2008 13:20

Hi everyone! Had another busy morning but got some good work done.

Diege, on the GOF'ing front, the recommended advice when TTC is every other day throughout the fertile period. This allows the man sperm time to regenerate, otherwise all you're getting is poor quality (or at least, not as high). So, to get best quality you need to do it regularly, but not too much!!

My successful month is the only month we didn't GOF every day, so maybe there is something in it?

Also, the day you get the most EWCM is the day of OV so ideally you want to GOF from about 4 days before, eg;

CD10, GOF, Some CM
CD12, GOF, More CM
CD14, GOF, EWCM
CD16, GOF, Less CM

One of my problems was that I didn't get anything other than a bit of EWCM on one day, if I was lucky, so it was very hard to pin point OV, particularly with erratic cycle lengths! So, I gof'd from CD9 to about CD20 in the early cycles! The final cycle, we used pre-seed lube and I think just got lucky with our timing in that on the day of EWCM we had a GOF for good luck, and two days after, but we'd managed one three days before on CD21 thinking that would be the last GOF before AF...little did we know!

WOnder if that makes sense to anyone but me.

Anyhoo, happy to be argued with as don't really know what I'm talking about, just piecing together things that have been said on the board before and my most recent experience

SesQal · 22/08/2008 13:46

Hi! Just popping on before quickly packing to go to York for the weekend.

I agree about twins - something v cute and romantic about having them. In reality probably a bit more of a handful!! (Pop - don't know if you're lurking but hope all's going well!)

Tink - am very impressed with your busy morning. Hope you get some viewings soon.

Glaskham - glad you're feeling a bit better.

Hello everyone else - Diege, Cal, GYo!!

Will try and catch you over the weekend but it will just be via my phone so not sure how much I'll be on. I guess by the end of my weekend away though, I'll only be on the 10 day wait!

Diege · 22/08/2008 13:50

That's great Cals - makes perfect sense to me . So if I understand this right, would you suggest a gof on the first day of ewm (having goffed every other day after af)and then every other day after? What if the first day of EWM turns out to be an 'other' day? (and all of this from a mother of 3 )

Diege · 22/08/2008 13:52

HI SES! Enjoy your weekend - you're right, not so long until your 'when to test' dilemma . Are you off anywhere nice? (sorry if I missed this!)

SesQal · 22/08/2008 13:57

Going to York to visit ny bf and her DH and DD (aged 2.10). I'm godmother to their v cute and adorable daughter and as they live so far away we only get to see eachother 4 or 5 times a year. REALLY looking forward to seeing them!

Diege · 22/08/2008 14:03

Ooh York, lovely! I go there with my friend for a weekend twice a year, and have havce such a great time there. Esp nice at Xmas with the ice sculptures. Have a lovely relaxing time
Well world war 3 here with the 'crafts' out - I HATE crafts but have buckled with the weather. Arghhhh!!!

calsworld · 22/08/2008 14:21

Diege that I make sense .

This is where it gets tricky IMO and when you don't know when you OV. However, if you can manage it and if you've gof'ed every other day since AF then just keep going until AF arrives or until CM dries up. Every month.

Diege · 22/08/2008 14:48

You'll have me walking like John Wayne

calsworld · 22/08/2008 14:55

Howdy Pardner!

I suppose you could just start at day 10 and go till CM dries up....lets face it, DH won't be complaining! Do you normally have regular cycle lengths? This would help pinpoint prime GOF time?

DH is a bit at the moment as I haven't been up to it since we conceived for a while now so am going to have to make a big effort next month week . It would help if we went to before I was nodding off on the sofa I guess!
