Right I am off now (not that anyone was here)... I will not be back on until Monday now so have a lovely weekend everyone.

GruffaloSoldier · 31/07/2008 20:07

Hi everyone

I am completely exhausted! Went to bed at 5.30 and got up a 8.30, went to uni to get dissertation bound and hand it in then went out with DH. Just woke up from a couple of hours sleep and feeling quite rotten!

But hey - my MSc is finished! Woo!

Me and DH are recovering tonight, but may have a glass of wine to celebrate!Im going out with uni friend tomorrow tonight to celebrate it being all over.

Glask & KK I am still holding on tight - I might just snooze on your shoulder too

Glad the scans went well, Pop and Playing!

Hi Moosma, its great to hear from you!

Sorry to everyone I have forgot - my brain is fried!

calsworld · 31/07/2008 21:06

Evening all, I've had a really busy day - think its better in the office, no one notices when I'm glazed over at my desk but DS does!!

I took him to the doctor this morning coz we've had the whole is is/isn't it chicken pox before...this time even I'm convinced it is! The surgery has their antenatal clinic today so we had to sit with the receptionists behind the front desk, behind closed doors away from all the ladies with lovely bumps. Doctor was able to speak to the MW who confirmed what I thought, that as I've had CP before its not considered a threat in pregnancy - lets just hope my immunity is good. I'm not going to let it worry me as there's nothing I can do about it now.

I texted one of my friends whose DS is a similar age, I know her from swimming lessons and her DS goes to the same nursery although we don't actually see each other very often, a bit later her hubby rang and asked if he could bring their DS over to try and get him to catch my DS's CP. A chicken pox party - I've hosted a CP party! well, sort of . It was really nice to have some grown up company.

Sods law the weather is crap and rainy when DS and I are trapped at home .

Right, whinge over, on the positive side, I can MN with considerably less guilt!

Have had a few 'moments' today feeling a bit queasy and a bit 'feed me now' ish, so my instinct is that I could be on for MS by next week. I really thought I'd be less impatient this time around but you just can't help it can you? I hope the impatience will wear off when I've had the first scan and feel a bit more comfortable about it all and can just relax and enjoy pregnancy...DH thinks it will be my last ,

Little does he know, I'm already planning the third

calsworld · 31/07/2008 21:12

God that was so me, me, me...sorry.

Gruffalo, a million congratulations to you!
You must be sooooo tired but very satisfied When you finally catch up on sleep (and recover from the hangover) you'll be wondering what you did before the dissertation, I bet!

LB, good to hear from you - how's DD?

Glaskham, every time I come on to say hi, you're not around! Hope you've had a nice day with your playdates and that DH made it home early

Sorry I wasn't there to help you but seems you've got it all sorted, not that I expected anything else of course!

GYo · 01/08/2008 08:29

Morning all

Not much to say except what a relief its Friday. PHEW.

3wks today since I had my BFP.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/08/2008 09:27

Good morning

This summer holidays lark is really interupting my MN'ing time, don't the teachers realise that I need more MN time, not less I feel all out of it....

Cal we must catch up, I've barely been around the last couple of weeks, I'm missing you!

We are off into town again today, we went and got what I thought were the last few bits for DH's birthday yesterday, till we got home and DS1 said "we haven't got his cards" and I realised I've no wrapping paper, so off we go again! I love it how it was supposed to be DS1 organising this party and yet it is me running round like a blue arsed fly trying to get it all together! It is so hard when I don't drive or have easy access to decent shops.

And my lovely neighbours, they have all the party stuff in their house, she is coming round on Tuesday to help me put the decs up (her words: "you can't be up and down a ladder in your condition" Why? Will the babies ear's pop? LOL and she, being in her 60's, is a far better bet eh? Bless her )

Morning all,

well the car has gone . Still the lovely lady that bought it had just given birth and I got to hold her 4 day old little boy whilst she looked over the car. He was all lovely and wrinkly and dozy! Its going to a good home!

Yes its walking to work for me now, and god I am unfit. Seemed like a marathon this morning which is really sad and proof if I ever needed any I really do need to walk more! I will miss it, I learnt to drive in that car but I used it so very little that it was just costing me money to sit on the drive! I live right in town, I can literally push a trolley across the carpark straight into Waitrose, even the Maternity hosiptal is only a 5 min walk!

LB - fingers crossed the sickness goes for you soon!

Gruffalo - I bet you're celebrating, I would!

Cal - glad the CP isn't going to be too much of a problem for you.

Nat - sounds like you are going to a lot of trouble for this party, I hope your DH appreicates it!

GYo · 01/08/2008 10:21

Playing- definately sounds like your car has gone to a good home. Very re living in the middle of town... that will be so lovely once you have the baby

Nat- the party sounds great. I cant wait to hear all about it :-)

I keep having days of feeling very unpregnant like Weds and Today but yesterday had a couple of very odd turns. Sometimes I wish we we had transparent bodies so we could see what was going on inside.

Really want to tell people now (only close family etc) but will wait til after next week.

ho hum.....

Playingthe9monthwait · 01/08/2008 10:57

Morning GYo - year think it has. Will probably see it sometimes as they only live in farnham.

It is great living in town. I do miss the peace of being out of town but I think living in town is much better with a baby. I'll not be so isolated and its really easy to get anything you need.

I'm getting good days and bad days. I mean I never feel unpg as such but I do get days with virtually no sickness just very occassional spells of nausea. Today unfortunately is not one of those days but yesterday was, so you can't have everything!

Cosmogirl · 01/08/2008 11:44

Morning all,

Having a really bad day at work! Urghhhh.....who'd be a press officer? - journalists are a nightmare and I used to be a one! Sorry, just had to rant....

GYo - I feel distinctly unpregnant most of the time - it is mainly my (.)(.) and the lines on the tests that make me think I still am. Hoping I'll be one of the lucky few to escape sickness...but also teeny bit worried that someone might be wrong.

Telling my Mum and Dad tommorrow - ekkk! Hope they take it well. Will be first grandchild.

kookykid · 01/08/2008 11:45

Hi everyone,

Congrats on the dissertation, Gruff! That's such a weight off your mind I bet. (And yes, I'm still holding on!)

Pop, I'm really glad King's was so good. Great that the babies are in seperate sacs and all well.

NJ, hope you manage to get everything sorted for DH's bday - it's kept you busy at any rate (not that you need keeping busy!).

Hope everyone else is well.

My DH's granny died on Tues so we are going up to Yorkshire early. I won't be able to go to the funeral as no-one to look after DD. It's all getting a bit fraught already. Families, eh??

Seaflower · 01/08/2008 11:54

Hi everyone,am a newbie, hope you dont mind me joining you.Am currently ttc no 3 the last year.

Playingthe9monthwait · 01/08/2008 12:00

Hi Seaflower welcome. There is a list somewhere if you would like to add yourself to it!

Cosmo - sorry you're having a tough day, at least its Friday!

KK - really sorry to hear that about your DH's granny. what a shame you can't make the funeral.

SesQal · 01/08/2008 13:00

Hi Seaflower - welcome!

Ok so this morning I woke up convinced AF had arrived as I had cramps but no sign and cramps have gone now. May just be under the weather as my joints are feeling a bit achy today too - I sound like an old woman!

Kooky - sorry to hear about dh granny. Were they v close?

Playing - sorry to hear you're not great today. Hope you improve as the day goes on.

NJ - I agree, sounds like dh should be v impressed with your party!

Cosmo - v excited for you telling your parents - I'm sure they'll be really pleased

Bargain hair cuts! V impressive NJ!

kookykid · 01/08/2008 14:15

Thanks for messages - they were pretty close, but she could be quite a strong-willed woman! So glad she got to know our DD, the only great-grandchild born while she was alive.

Welcome SeaFlower - it's great here - I've felt so supported and learnt so much about ttc!

Ses, whereabouts are you in your cycle? Hope the name change works for you...!

NJ - am v impressed with the price of those haircuts - what a bargain! I really ought to get DD's done (at least cut her fringe) but can't bring myself to do it... I love her curls too much!

ONe of my BFs tols me last night she's pg having only GOFed once since starting ttc DC#2. So weird feeling and at the same time....

kookykid · 01/08/2008 14:17

told obviously!

SesQal · 01/08/2008 14:28

IKWYM about and !

I'm on cd26 today so AF could come anytime between now and Tues really.

I'm just on my lunch break and reading about this girl who's 15yo and 33 stone!! There was me worried about my weight!!!

calsworld · 01/08/2008 14:33

afternoon all!

Just had a delicious nap with DS! Now he's watching teletubbies, he seems mostly OK but quite subdued today, he spent most of the morning sitting with me on the sofa / climbing on me / poking me eyes out and dribbling on me, but all very affectionately of course .

I can't get him to eat much but he's drinking lots of milk and the odd bit of water and producing wet nappies so I guess he's OK - I can see he's got a few in his mouth and he winced earlier and tried to rub his tongue to soothe it , poor little boy!

Welcome SeaFlower (nice name by the way )

KK - where are you in your cycle? Do you know how many days Post Ov you are?

Um - can't remember anything else...NJ, DH, DS and I have started going for family outings to his barber since they started doing ladies hair cuts too. £25 for all three of us ! Its nothing special for me but certainly keeps my locks looking loved. I go to a different place to have colours done, not quite ready to trust them with that yet!

We've got my PIL and SIL and BIL coming tomorrow for the day, them MIL, SIL and BIL are going leaving FIL here for the week. FIL and DH are going to be digging up and relaying our drive so that we no longer bring down the tone of our street! DS was supposed to be going to nursery and I was supposed to be doing bugger all on drinks and meals and other light duties. With DS CP it looks like it could be quite a painful week - he's going to really want to be outside with his daddy.

SesQal · 01/08/2008 14:36

Hi Cal! Your poor DS! Sounds like he's got a thorough dose of the pox poor boy

kookykid · 01/08/2008 14:45

Cal, just typed in your name wrong and it came out as cola! Your poor DS . Bless him trying to rub his tongue!

Am on CD20 today (but check me out - I had to go and LOOK! That's how chilled I've been this cycle!). Thought I'd OVd around CD16 but think I had more EWCM yesterday so we GOFed again last nigth just in case. Planning to test on the 11th with Glask and Gruffalo, but will be away with the ILs tehn so may hold out a bit longer if AF doesn't arrive.

Righto got to go and wake up DD and trawl around Tesco. Yuk.

calsworld · 01/08/2008 14:49

Hi KK, that's very good re chilled outness, that's what I was like my last (successful) cycle...I'm sure it helps. Also sounds like you've got the GOF's covered well so all is left is a huge dollop of luck - I hope this is your month!

KK, can you get me some bacon and bread whilst you're out as I can't go anywhere with DS . Cabin fever. Me. After only two days....LOL, not as bad as DS who keeps asking for his shoes! He misses nursery and all his little friends

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/08/2008 15:19

KK, I am sure she thought of herself as one lucky lady to get to know your DD. On a different note, well done on being so relaxed this cycle, I am 100% certain that the more stressed you get TTC'ing, the less likely it is to happen.

Cal poor little boy Having had no (or if DS1 did have it while I was pregnant with DS2, very little) experience with CP, for the ones in his mouth, would he eat ice cream or very cold yoghurts etc? Just wondered if it would give him some relief. It might be worth asking the chemist if you can use anything like bonjella as well? Piriton is supposed to help a bit as well. And oats in a little organza bag (or some such) in his bath. Hopefully family descending will keep his mind too busy to feel poorly.

Ses I saw a picture of that girl on the front of some magazine in M&S, it is sad isn't it?
