Nikkichik · 07/02/2005 11:32

Congrats RudyDudy, excellent news, . I too was in the 'just about to give up and stop thinking about it and devote the energy to the dd you have got' phase and had just gone a bought a Persona - typical eh! Also am slightly concerend cos last week a friend came to stay and I consumed 1/2 bottle of wine. Ah well, was the same when I found out I was pregnant with DD - had been away for a w/e of late nights and boozing and she's fine!!
I may stick around here for a bit if it's OK with you all until it's sunk in for me and I've managed to find time to go to the Docs.
good luck to everyone else!

romilly · 07/02/2005 12:49

Sallie · 07/02/2005 12:51

Just popping in to see if there is any news and fabulous to see that Rudy and Nikki have had BFPs! Huge congrats and best of luck to everyone else.....

RudyDudy · 07/02/2005 13:04

Thanks Sallie. Congratulations Nikkichik . Have you any idea when you're due? I'm guessing around the first week of October. It still hasn't really sunk in yet. I keep wanting to do another test just to make sure!

Good luck and babydust to everyone else this month ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~

Sallie · 07/02/2005 13:07

Rudy - I think I did about 15 tests in all before I believed that I was actually pg! Now at 9 weeks and nervously waiting for the 12 week scan.....

Hulababy · 07/02/2005 13:19

Nickichic - congratulations!

Thanks mummygow - very excited about the house, and bedroom 3 is pkenty big enough for a nursery - now have to keep practising at producing one!

Nikkichik · 07/02/2005 13:23

According to the chart in my book should be due around 15th October. It doesn't feel real at all and I'm not quite believing it yet - after all only 4 days late . October sounds so far away, doesn't it. won't believe it until I've done at least 2 more tests!!!! If it's true then all you all duffers take note - it does happen - I'm 38!

munnzieb · 07/02/2005 13:25

nickki - big congrats hon! spread that dust! lol.

Rudy - i'm sure all will go fine hon, (u to, share the dust out!)

Minnie - I had an O as well on my first month of usin persona (was most proud - like you! lol, kept opening the box just to make sure it was still there!) my O is for two days as well!

MG - I'm hoping still, but I doubt i'm PG! still we'll see roll on Friday! lol.

Rang the hosp today and got an appt for 21st April (wouldv'e been on 3rd march but DH isn't here and we have to been seen together) still, am back to wondering if its a good idea that I go as I've had 3 months of O on persona (or is it 4??) so I would've thought if anyhit major was wrong I wouldn't be O' each month? what do u recon? and of course the fact DH has been away? i'm confused! should I go anyways? hopefully I won't need to but we'll see!

munnzieb · 07/02/2005 13:26

anything*

(this thread seems lucky already!)

Hulababy · 07/02/2005 13:27

No idea munnzieb, but I would go. Then you can talk all this out with the experts and maybe get some answers that way.

I am not going to be moving now until June?July. This is month 6 of TTC (and DD took ages remember). When do you reckon I should think about seeing my GP?

munnzieb · 07/02/2005 13:30

I'd tell him anyways just to keep him up to speed, possibly see if you can be put on the waitin list to get the ball rolling as it were?

Hulababy · 07/02/2005 13:32

Yeah, eget this month finsihed and I think I will go and have achat with GP - armed with all my charts, etc.

Nikkichik · 07/02/2005 13:33

Thanks all - will let you know how tests tomorrow turn out! Can't do the sprinkly sign, but am sprinkling baby dust madly and randomly.

ernest · 07/02/2005 13:57

rudy - i missed your news - wow - you bought a house & found out you were pg - what a brilliant few days. Big congrats to you & to nikkichik too

pipsy1 · 07/02/2005 15:38

So many congrats girls - it just keeps us all going when good news comes in the form of a BFP. Hope we can all be sharing good news over the coming months.
Can someone tell me what Persona is? If it generally takes a few months to work is it worth getting or better to try ov sticks first? I am so new to this but want to give myself the best chance

expatinscotland · 07/02/2005 15:50

STILL waiting here! Should know one way or another by week end. Onwards and upwards no matter what.

munnzieb · 07/02/2005 18:09

pip- I tried the sticks frist, but found I wasn't sure if/when I OV, was fairly sure but not positive.
persona basically is an electronic test kit and tells you exactly when u're OV, (take all the stress out of thinkin are my lines the same colour etc... you can buy them from Ebay cheap enough, some times it works first month and tells you you're OV others it take a few months to work it's way and know ur cycles. I def recommend them, after you've bought the moniter you need the test sticks each month for £9.99 from boots (unless anuyone's found one cheaper?). have been using mine for the past few months had a O each time, but will wait till DH is home b4 I can give you a time scale on how quickly it worked! .

Have been lifting heavy stuff about today so am now all tired and my kidneys ache (also had shooting pains on the below, so I think I may have done too much..... so in light of that fact.. I'm gonna spend the evening eating pizza and choc curled up on the sofa! watching Brad pitt!

Hulababy · 07/02/2005 18:10

I want pizza and chocolate No healthy fish and rice! I hate being on a diet!

munnzieb · 07/02/2005 18:12

well when DH went away I went on weight watchers... went swimming... (the diet lasted a grand old total of 3 days, and the swimming about 2.5 months, am yet to re-start again) i'm just soo tired in the evenings, I recon it's cos it's winter!, we'll see in the summer, mean while u can have some of my vitual choc?

Elf1981 · 07/02/2005 18:37

Hi all,

Still no AF! I think that makes me 3 days late. But as last AF was a bit off track, have decided to wait until at least Fri to test, just in case I'm off track this month as well.

Been feeling really tired lately. On Fri night was watching a film with DH and just dropped off. Sunday woke up at 8 (very early for me on a Sun!) and put telly on, started watching D-Health, the next thing I know its 11:30 and Tesco is knocking on the door to deliver my shopping! I seem to do nothing but sleep! Think it's because I've been run down though.

Anyway, off to FIL house tonight, so might post later, in not, I'll catch up and post in morning.

Good luck everybody with all the BD!!

Elf xxxx

Cuppatea · 07/02/2005 19:41

Hi girls! I'm new to mn, but feeling very confused and wondered if anyone had any advice on this- have been ttc for 7 months, usually have regular cycle of 30 days and ovulate around day 17. Last month felt sick, few dizzy spells, had heat rash (never usually get it) really tired and AF was 3 days late. Got all excited and did test- BFN. Then AF arrived but was really light and only lasted 2 days. That was last week. Am still feeling sick and getting the rash every day so went to GP tonight thinking might be virus or something- she says she isn't convinced I'm not pg (even though have now done 3 tests all BFN) but wants me to go and have bloods done tomorrow- no results for 2 weeks! She said if I still feel ropey in 10 days to do pg test again- surely it would show BFP by now if I was pg?? Am feeling pretty low and confused- it's been such an up and down 3 weeks of am I? aren't I?- had just picked myself up from disappointment of getting late AF only to be told "well there's a chance you could be.." and now have to wait ages to find out. If I count suspicious AF as real, I am on cd10 for this cycle! Am continuing the quest regardless in the meantime. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? Sorry for long posting!

munnzieb · 07/02/2005 20:54

CT - the tests in some cases can show a BFN up to 8 weeks PG, blood test r the way forward for accurate results. good lluck.

Elf - good luck hon, fingers crossed.

Hulababy · 07/02/2005 21:00

I gave in. I had pizza. I blame you!!! It was so yummy. Had a beer too Back to healthy food tomorrow!

Hulababy · 07/02/2005 21:02

Good luck Elf; have my fingers crossed for you.

I'd have to blood tests cupoftea - just to be sure.
