well, he's not going to book it until 28th of July-ish. He has to book with the hospital and go and do it there (or knock one out and deliver it within an hour ) and because he is away this weekend, then I am ovulating the weekend after (And he can't get through on the phone to be sure of an appointment this coming week plus it's his birthday) and he has to abstain for three days, he's going to have to so it then! Hrmmph. But I don't want to risk missing my egg this month just in case so ho hum.

Sparkly08 · 11/07/2008 17:23

It's hard changing your lifestyle when it feels like you're not getting anywhere isn't it!! When we started TTC all those months ago, I cut down on drinking and took vitamins, watched what I ate and exercised lots but I'm trying to carry on as normal and the moment and not obsess about it too much (as if that's possible).
The end of this month isn't that far away and it will be here before you know it. It must be weird providing a sample in a hospital...prob much better to do it at home . Good luck to your DP. My DP still hasn't booked in with his GP..he's rubbish.

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 11/07/2008 17:27

hello ladies!

Well, I feel okay, think the Dihydrocodeine I took 1/2 an hour before the scan helped. It was uncomfortable, but not as bad as i thought. He showed me the pics straight away, and explained them. You will be pleased to hear I have free flowing tubes! LOL
On to the next thing now! Just no TTC for the rest of this cycle...
Also have to sort DH out who inadvertently seems to be putting off his sperm test. All work related but still bl**dy annoying!
Thanks for the support everyone, much appreciated.
Beanie good luck with your DH!

Hello ladies!

Been offline for a while due to computer meltdown - obviously longer than I thought given the CD I was listed on! Oopsie

Hope all well - congrats to the host of BFPs I seem to have missed!

Hurrah Lou - glad it went ok. eep badgering your OH! Maybe he's embarrassed. Mine saw a female GP and said he did most of the talking which is typical

blackrock · 11/07/2008 20:26

Hello there, back on track today and not feeling sorry for myself! Thanks for support, can't talk to friends here about it even though they are lovely!

Sparkly I might try the monitoring ov next month, as since i started temping daily and monitoring changes i think i OV very quickly after AF. Will see if this is the case this month. If no luck try again next!

Glad your tubes are clear Lou

How many of you found acupuncture, or another alternative remedy helpful.

I work PT and get very stressed as part of my job is FT still and i cannot get as much done. I think stress may not be helping the situation. DS1bean stuck when i had a break from work!

mrsfossil · 11/07/2008 22:04

Hello ladies, Good news about your scan- Lou, why are men so funny when it comes to sperm tests? Its not exactly the most difficult or painful test in the world. When my dh had to have his done he made such a fuss until I pointed out the things we have to put up with such as smear tests, and internal exams. Surely having a w**k in a pot really isn't that bad?

Blackrock - I have tried reflexology but not accupuncture. I only had it a few times it didn't help me concieve but it did seem to cure my painful periods.

Well i've finished my clomid and this weekend its wee testing, with my transvaginal scan on wednesday, so hopeful end of next week we will be going in for the insemination. Then the dreaded 2 week wait

beaniesteve · 11/07/2008 22:54

Good luck for next week mrsfossil, and the 2ww. Crossing fingers for you.

glad you are feeling better Blackrock, these ups and downs are a pain eh?

My mum offered to get me reflexology for my birthday. I turned her down but that was 3 months ago so now I'm thinking I might book myself a session, even if it's good for my stress I think it'd be worth it.

scully · 12/07/2008 01:46

Good to hear your test went well Lou
This will be the first time I have used anything other than opk's to try and conceive, but am finding the acupuncture really helpful so far. Has got my cycles back on track so much quicker than they did on their own last year, after 1st m/c. Reflexology I had during dd2's pregnancy, more for relaxtion and to help her not be breech, like her sister was. dd2 wasn't breech and I had several very relaxing sessions so was worth it for me I think it helps even if you just feel like you are doing something that might help, whether or not is actually has any major benefit, if that makes sense
Hope all the dp's that need to go have their tests, get a hurry up

beaniesteve · 12/07/2008 08:47

Have started a thread about this but got no repliesyet so can I asak here?

I had a very late period (almost a week late) and then my period was quite short. Yesterday while still spotting a bit I noticed I had EWCM. Not much but I could stretch it a good inch and a half.

My Monitor consistentl tells me I ovulate around day 15/16. Had I got my period at the right time I would be on CD11 now but I am on CD 6.

Is it possible I could ovulate while still finishing my period?

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 12/07/2008 09:02

tis possible m'dear, as you can get pregnant while having a period, and can also ovulate twice in one month. Our bodies do strange things sometimes...

You will have to watch your monitor to see what happens. What day does it start asking for a stick usually?

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 12/07/2008 09:03

Thanks scully
is the acupuncture painful? I have been considering it for several months now. I am a wuss

beaniesteve · 12/07/2008 09:08

Usualy starts asking now but I am not at home and forgot to bring it with me. DOH!

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 12/07/2008 09:18

DOH!
Done that before...

MollieMooma · 12/07/2008 09:19

Beanie How different was your AF this time? I only ask as Fruity thought she'd had AF but turned out it was implantation bleeding so?????????? I don't want to get your hopes up as I know you tested before AF arrived, but you just never know

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 12/07/2008 09:20

Mrsfossil -
He said to me yesterday at the hospital he will feel really bad if i have had to go through these tests and things and it's him that's the problem. Think it brought it home to him that a sperm sample is not really the big trauma he thinks it is.

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 12/07/2008 09:22

mollie X-posts
Thanks for the support!

beaniesteve · 12/07/2008 09:23

Hi Mollie, My period was only 5 days long and only heavy for two days which is unusual for me but seems to have been like this for last couple of cycles. I doubt I am pregnant though. The blood was very red towards the end and yesterday I was getting pinkish mucus.

scully · 12/07/2008 12:39

Hi Lou, I don't find acupuncture painful. The needles are very fine and barely go in, nothing like a hospital needle. I think if you closed your eyes and didn't watch what they were doing, you wouldn't realise how many needles were used.
Worth a try and if you didn't like it, don't go back Good your dh realised that your tests are a much bigger deal than a sample in a cup Seems obvious but sometimes.......
Sorry Beanie no idea about your cycle, can you get an opk to try & see if it comes up positive, as you don't have your monitor with you?

Morning Ladies!

Moonlit I thought cycle 12 was hard! for you...

Just wanted to share this little story, anyone else getting this sort of comment??

how is this for insensitive -
i was with a friend and her baby at a small gathering, and an aquaintance who i havent seen for about 6 months, comes up and says to me - "lovely isnt she, where's yours then, come on get a move on!"
She has no tact though. But she does know about my MC last july, so really you would think she might have held that comment in.

Honestly, because I enjoy being childless and watching everyone aound me sprog!
Cheers for that.

Am off for a day out with DH now,(to get him awway from his laptop)
hope everyone has a chilled day xx
