Hi all. Just been lurking the last few days - hi to all the newbies.

sars - that sounds good . My understanding is that any kind of line basically means a BFP. Are you going to test again in the next couple of days?

beanie - fingers crossed that it's your month, hon. The Zita West vits are expensive, I know. My acupuncturist gets them for me a little cheaper, I think. Also, I cheat and take two a day instead of three, so it works out cheaper. And as she pointed out to me, being quite small, I proabably don't need all three! Worth a try maybe. Also, have you heard of Foresight? They do hair analysis to get you and your partner in the 'optimum' condition for conceiving and carrying to term. I have to admit the regime was a bit much for me and DH to contemplate at this stage, but who knows how we'll feel if it doesn't work out this time. If you feel that there's anything further you want to do to increase chances of conception at this point, you might like to check them out. I know how tough this is - not sure if you're at the point where anything is worth a try, but just thought I'd mention it, if you hadn't heard about them.

Hope Zita West has some good advice. And please don't give up - we're all here to hold your hand this month.

xx

beanieb · 19/08/2008 13:33

thanks Daisy. I figured that being on the clearblue monitor trial means I don't have to pay for testing sticks so I can afford the vitamins. Not sure I can afford accupuncture/reflexology etc. I'll bumble on and see what happens.

Feeling incredibly stressed and Anxious at the moment though (Other stuff) and it's not helping with my PMA. I can't do anything to remove the stress though

sars87 · 19/08/2008 21:11

hi all

Daisyj, I did another test this morning and got a test done at GP, and its positive. Just hope nothing goes wrong. xx

Jael · 19/08/2008 21:22

Can I just ask what does PMA mean? Well I've has positive ovulation tests for the past 5 days me and DP have been BD once or twice a day for the past week, however when i mentioned this briefly at my daughters playgroup today, a mother of twins piped up with "You'll never get pregnant having sex so frequently" so I'm all abit grr now and confused, and I've got belly cramps

beanieb · 19/08/2008 23:54

Just got back from seeing an old schoolfriend. Lost count of the times she told me to relax and it will happen.

beanieb · 19/08/2008 23:55

Jael PMA is positive mental attitude

There's differnt views on frequeny of sex. Some say every other day, others say every day when you are fertile.

Jaamy · 20/08/2008 10:36

CONGRATUALTIONS sars! Hope you and bean stay well. First cycle and while moving house. New home, new baby. It's been a while since we had a BFP on here. Thanks for keeping us hopeful. Do you want to graduate yourself on the list?

daisyj · 20/08/2008 13:09

beanie Grrr - why do people say that! It's sooo irritating. A 'friend' of mine who had his (by accident) at 22 kept going on at me about how we should stop 'trying so hard' and then it would happen. Makes me cross just thinking about it! Totally doesn't account for the fact that at 36, with demanding jobs and not the libido of 21 year olds, if you don't pay attention to ensuring that you BD at the right time you're about as likely to get pregnant as a nun! Sorry about the stress. Is it caused by something that's just temporary?

sars - good stuff, girl!

beanieb · 20/08/2008 13:42

Congratulations Sars!

Daisy - it is really annoying specially as she had difficulty conceiving her first and spent most of our early 30's telling me I should 'hurry up'
My friend claims that she never tested ever, except for the 2 times she was actually pregnant. She asked me if I knew about mucus, she told me I needed a hobby to relax me and that I was concentrating too much on having sex at teh right times and I should just 'have sex when I felt like it'.

when I told her about my fertility monitor she basically said it was a waste of time!

I think that because we tend to talk abou tkids (Hers, my desire for them) when we meet up (Which isn't often) she thinks it is ALL I talk about!

blackrock · 20/08/2008 15:01

I am on CD 26 today still no AF but unikely to be PG but this means i am probably having a normal cycle. No more 20 day wonders! Perhaps perhaps, perhaps....

Hi ladies im new to the website, ttc for 18 months now suffer from pcos so irregular af's,on 2nd cycle of clomid now!!

daisyj · 21/08/2008 07:01

Welcome MizzFAlla - and best of luck. There's a lot of babydust here.

Well, ladies, had early scan last night, and it was amazing. Saw good strong heartbeat, size just right for estimated dates, and even saw some brain structure - couldn't believe it, at only 8 + 3! I was sooo scared, I didn't believe it would be OK this time, and I really couldn't believe in the baby till I saw it. It's made the world of difference to me and DH - we were so excited we couldn't stop grinning at each other all last night. Even woke up at 3 am grinning and couldn't get back to sleep. See - still grinning...

xx

blackrock · 21/08/2008 12:28

I have just had the longest cycle in 18 months, hopefully this month will be the one. I have begun taking vits, stopped drinking anything, and my back is feeling a bit better.

Super news Sars!

beanieb · 21/08/2008 12:59

Morning! I have a question.

Is anyone else taking Zita West vitamins? My pee has gone quite a bright yellow and I am wondering if it is the vitamins?

beanieb · 21/08/2008 13:00

Oh - scrap that - I just googled it and apparently it is a symptom of the high levels of Vitamin B!

daisyj · 21/08/2008 13:02

Yes, beanie, they did that to me, too. I found I had to drink more as felt a little bit more dehydrated too - I think it's the vit B specifically that does that, but I could be wrong.

beanieb · 21/08/2008 13:25

Ah - how strange. I have been feeling really thirsty too

I'm only taking 2 a day at the moment because I always seem to forget the evening one. I'll drink more

daisyj · 21/08/2008 14:01

I would. And if you're fairly small you could probabaly stick to two. Like I said, I kept forgetting to take all three (and instinctively felt I didn't actually need three), and then my acupuncturist said she didn't reckon I'd need them all anyway (I'm under 8 stone, though).

We crossed posts earlier. Nice to know i can retain some useful trivia .

beanieb · 21/08/2008 14:17

I have a doctor's appointment on Friday - to tell her that my OH's sperm test came back fine and so now I would like to be referred for further tests. Am 5DPO now and it would be so nice if I was pregnant already but I just don't think I will be even though we had sex every day while I was fertile.

Welcome Irish Mama - I've added you!

Just been to the doc to see what's next. She's referring me for further tests but says the waiting list is about a year! So all I can do is hope that all the good blood tests, sperm test and scan, which showed I have no problems, are true and there's no other underlying fertility problem as in 12 months time I will be 39 and a half!
