Anyone TTC after a recent early loss and wanting support? (Aug 26)

Hi, I thought I’d start a separate thread for anyone who is TTC after a recent early loss, so we can support each other through what can be a really difficult time. 💕

I’m 39 and TTC for my first. I conceived after around four cycles, but sadly had a missed miscarriage mid-July at around 9 weeks, (development had stopped at 6).

I stopped bleeding last Sunday and have started noticing some cervical mucus returning over the past few days, so I’m hoping my body is beginning to get back into its normal rhythm.

I’m still testing positive on pregnancy tests, so can’t use LH strips to track ovulation yet, so for now, my plan is to get back to some exercise, eating well and have sex every 2-3 days. I’m feeling positive and hopeful but also trying to take my mind off the waiting!

If anyone else is going through something similar and would like to share the journey and support each other x

My hcg from Tuesday’s blood test was 80. I’m so nervous for tomorrow morning’s one, and hope I get the result before the weekend.

Fingers crossed you get the result tomorrow and it looks good. How long did it take for them to share the results from Tuesday?

Springcloud26 · 20/08/2026 22:07

I phoned them at 2pm today and they said it was back but they couldn’t share with me as a doctor hadn’t checked it; half an hour later it was there in the app! I will probably call them before they close just to check.

Thank you! It’s done, will call back later today. She said it all depends on when doctor has chance to review. Could be before they finish today or more likely Monday.

Keeping everything crossed for you! Waiting to know is the worst!

Fingers crossed you find out today @Springcloud26 and that it’s good news. Waiting around is so hard. Have you done any more tests since earlier this week?

CD2 for me, glad the waiting for AF is over after 40 days!

Thank you so much! I go through waves of feeling hopeful and then not 😂. Whatever the outcome, it will give me clarity finally on where I am, and if it is not positive news, at least I know I can track the next cycle better 😊

Partner and I have a nice dinner out planned tonight to take mind off it!

It was silly really but I had one test left, a sensitive one but very cheap brand and I used it later this morning so didn’t use FMU and may have been diluted. It came up with just a hint of a shadow, and took the 5 mins to get there. So I’m not feeling hopeful now. Although chat gpt tells me urine concentration is a lot less than blood.

To be honest I just wanted the test gone from the house so I can move past this stage, whatever the outcome!

I’m really pleased you have started your new cycle! Will you be trying again for this one or were you advised to wait longer?

It’s not good news unfortunately, hcg has fallen to 68 so either it’s taking a really long time to clear or it’s a new chemical. I’ll phone the EPU on Monday to get it logged. Feeling pretty deflated but now I know I’m waiting for AF to arrive and can track the next cycle more easily.

I‘m sorry it wasn’t the news you wanted @Springcloud26 and frustrating that the hcg level is taking so long to drop. Hopefully the EPU will be helpful when you speak to them on Monday. Hope you can enjoy your dinner out tonight to take your mind off things.

I’ll be trying again this cycle, they just advised to wait for one period, so can’t wait to start my POAS obsession again.

How are you feeling @Posypear? Hope you have some nice weekend plans to take your mind off things.

Sorry to hear that @Springcloud26 . I hope AF comes soon and sending good luck for your next cycle.

Hopefully we'll have some positive stories on this thread soon!

My friend said she went to the GP about 2 miscarriages and got progesterone and baby aspirin ( and then successfully conceived) so I was thinking of doing that.

Thanks @Pottingsheddays . Glad to hear AF has finally come! I can't have a glass of wine to cheer myself up tonight as I'm on antibiotics to clear the BV! I'm completely exhausted from all the emotions and sleepless nights this week so hoping DH will take DC a bit this weekend to give me a bit of a break!

That’s a lot to have going on in one week @Posypear Hope you can get some rest this weekend - it all takes its toll physically and emotionally.

Worth speaking to your GP - I’m having tests done this cycle for thyroid, vit D and progesterone due to two losses. The EPU said the guidance has changed and GPs should now be running basic tests after two losses and my GP booked them in when I called and asked.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and there’s some positive news soon x

Thank you @Pottingsheddays, I’ll be having a nice relaxing weekend with my book and some walks.

I did an LH strip this morning and it was low, so at least I can start tracking again. I’ll join you with the fun of POAS! I’m going to test daily, just in case I never actually ovulated and it’s still to come before AF.

Thank you @Posypear and hope you are feeling okay too and can have a nice relaxing weekend, it sounds like you have had a lot going on.

It’s so hard to switch off from it all isn’t it - I’m trying to focus on healthy eating a bit more as a distraction to TTC, my sugar intake is far too high (I seem to have replaced alcohol with cake 😂)
