Anyone TTC after a recent early loss and wanting support? (Aug 26)

Hi, I thought I’d start a separate thread for anyone who is TTC after a recent early loss, so we can support each other through what can be a really difficult time. 💕

I’m 39 and TTC for my first. I conceived after around four cycles, but sadly had a missed miscarriage mid-July at around 9 weeks, (development had stopped at 6).

I stopped bleeding last Sunday and have started noticing some cervical mucus returning over the past few days, so I’m hoping my body is beginning to get back into its normal rhythm.

I’m still testing positive on pregnancy tests, so can’t use LH strips to track ovulation yet, so for now, my plan is to get back to some exercise, eating well and have sex every 2-3 days. I’m feeling positive and hopeful but also trying to take my mind off the waiting!

If anyone else is going through something similar and would like to share the journey and support each other x

Great news @Posypear! I hope all continues well and you're able to relax a little in time.

Sorry no BFP for you yet @Springcloud26, I understand the disappointment. That's good news about your cycle returning to normal though - hopefully this time around is easier without all the uncertainty around what's going on in there!

I found out that yet another friend is expecting a baby yesterday and I self-indulgently had a good ol' jealous mope. It feels even worse knowing that I would have had mine around the same time 🙁

What's everyone's approach to moderating caffeine/alcohol/junk food etc. while TTC? Part of me feels like I should abstain from all vices if I want to give myself the best chance, but I ALWAYS crack as soon as I have a bad day 😂

I love coffee and wine and junk food so have not (so far) been willing to give up until a BFP. It's stressful enough without having some vices to enjoy. Am sure it affects chances somewhat though, so I suppose we all have to make our choices.

@Springcloud26 Sorry no BFP but hopefully next month will be completely back to normal and easy to track - is not long at all until you'll be ready to start trying.

Well done for finding a positive in there @Springcloud26

RE vices I am the same as @tabbycatslave!

I just came back from a fertility acupuncture session (first one) and it seems doctors orders are very much - less stress. So that’s what I’m trying to manifest!

Thank you 😊

It’s so hard when people around you are expecting!

I haven’t cut down on junk food or sugar, but have carried on limiting my caffeine to 2 cups a day since my MMC. I haven’t had a drink since July and I used to have a glass of wine quite regularly! I feel like I don’t want to choose it now and break the streak, but I do miss it.

I'm also the same as @tabbycatslave. TTC is hard enough without something to look forward to !

Posypear · 07/10/2026 10:24

Very strange. Finally getting a temperature peak and my app is saying I ovulated anytime betweens day 14 and 19. Bit worried I've missed the peak really but I did dtd on day 16 and 18 just in case but had a break between 14 and 15 which might have been the peak days! How frustrating! However I'm convinced I'm pregnant this month now - as I'm boiling, cramping and waking up extra early. Fingers crossed I'm right!!

Everything crossed for you!

@fluffycauliflowers thank you. I think I'm delusional as I'm potentially only 2dpo ha ha !
How are you doing?

Springcloud26 · 07/10/2026 17:35

@Posypear fingers crossed you hit the peak days!

How is everyone doing?

CD1 for me today, I’m feeling a bit disheartened, especially with all the mental energy I put into this cycle, so I will try and relax a bit more for the next one (easier said than done!)

Hugs @Springcloud26 💐

It's so hard not to feel disheartened each BFN.

ElinorDashw00d · 08/10/2026 10:35

I’m sorry @Springcloud26 its so disappointing each month 😪

Posypear · 08/10/2026 12:02

@Springcloud26 sorry to hear that. It's hard when you feel you've done all you can. Fingers crossed this is the cycle for you !

Springcloud26 · Yesterday 17:49

Thank you everyone, it’s hit me harder than I thought it would and needed a bit of time away from the threads, and a focus on work rather than thinking of TTC all the time! I even had a couple of glasses of wine over the weekend, so my streak is over 😂.

How is everyone doing?

Think it’s about to be CD1 for me too. About to start a week’s holiday and just feel so down about it.
Might join you in the wine. Trying to stay positive that it will happen.

Posypear · Today 06:31

@Springcloud26 sorry to hear you've been feeling down about it. I'm sure having a few glasses of wine and relaxing is probably a good thing - don't they always say to try to relax when TTC ? (Ha ha -obviously impossible!?!).

I'm okay - still symptom spotting like mad. Still have an elevated temperature, cramping and sore boobs but I always think I'm pregnant! Also I'm anywhere between 7dpo and 12dpo as my ovulation was delayed so the app can't pin point it like usual ( so more like 7 dpo I think?!). I have a big work thing on Thursday so going to try to hold out testing until Friday as don't want the stress of that as well. It's annoying it looks like ovulation has been delayed so it's now almost a 3 week 2ww!!
