Anyone TTC after a recent early loss and wanting support? (Aug 26)

Hi, I thought I’d start a separate thread for anyone who is TTC after a recent early loss, so we can support each other through what can be a really difficult time. 💕

I’m 39 and TTC for my first. I conceived after around four cycles, but sadly had a missed miscarriage mid-July at around 9 weeks, (development had stopped at 6).

I stopped bleeding last Sunday and have started noticing some cervical mucus returning over the past few days, so I’m hoping my body is beginning to get back into its normal rhythm.

I’m still testing positive on pregnancy tests, so can’t use LH strips to track ovulation yet, so for now, my plan is to get back to some exercise, eating well and have sex every 2-3 days. I’m feeling positive and hopeful but also trying to take my mind off the waiting!

If anyone else is going through something similar and would like to share the journey and support each other x

I did, it was very, very, very faint. I think they're supposed to be 10mlU/ml (it will say on the packaging/leaflet somewhere) but I'm sceptical. The new Ultra Early/pink dye CB are the best I've tried, but ££££.

Thank you @tabbycatslave they are the ones I tend to see people post with when early testing. Oh I’ve not seen the ultra early cb before, will have a look!

@Pottingsheddays you are a wise woman!

My temperature isn't going the way it normally does post ovulation ( pregnant or not) and CM still similar to when fertile so I really don't know what's going on. Might try to dtd today just in case!
@Springcloud26 sorry I've not used that brand before I normally use digitals as I can't handle the line squinting!

Hope everyone is doing ok! ✨ I had a break from here after AF came last month as I’m really trying to be more relaxed this month. Trying everything I can to wait for AF rather than testing which I don’t think I’ve ever managed before 😂 I’m 7dpo today, 7th cycle trying but only 2nd since ectopic. Period is due on Thursday so the plan is to test Saturday if it hasn’t arrived. But it is my husbands birthday on Thursday and part of me wants to test in the morning of that day just in case I had good news!

Welcome back @Happymama04! I understand needing to take a break and being more relaxed, I’ve been thinking and analysing a lot this cycle.

Even waiting to the day of AF being due is being strong! I hope you enjoy celebrating your husband’s birthday.

I’m 9 DPO today and usually I have waited until AF late around 15 DPO to test to get a clear anwser, but I’m giving myself one cycle where I do the opposite and being a little more obsessive, partly so I can experience the excitement of early testing but also if I catch a chemical it may help me get referred more quickly.

This morning's test was negative, but I wasn’t sure if I tilted it in a certain way I could see maybe a hint of something that could develop into a vvvvfl in the next few days… but probably wishful thinking!

Fingers crossed for you Springcloud26. I tested yesterday for the first time at home after my loss 2.5 weeks ago and for the first time preg test is negative. Hoping this means things are starting to get back to normal and my cycle will return to normal soon.

Pottingsheddays · 03/10/2026 09:02

Keeping my fingers crossed for your next test @Springcloud26 - it’s so all consuming when it’s testing time. And good luck to you too @Happymama04

I’ve spiralled since yesterday eve - the cramping I had at the start came back but much more intensely and I woke up in the middle of the night in a lot of pain. I’ve also woken up without the sickness and sort boobs I’ve had for the last few days so don’t think it’s good news. I’ve contacted EPAU so hoping they’ll see me on Monday. Not sure how I’m going to get through the weekend though

Witchfoot · 03/10/2026 09:54

Oh @Pottingsheddays that must be so worrying for you. I hope you can get answers soon ❤️

Springcloud26 · 03/10/2026 12:10

@Pottingsheddays I’m sorry you are experiencing this, it must be very worrying and even more so with it being over the weekend. I hope you get seen on Monday x

Thank you, I have no symptoms but looking at my previous notes for positive cycle it was 10 DPO that I experienced light cramps, discharge and feeling like I was going to come on, so will be watching out for that

Hello.

coming in again, very tentatively. It looks like I ovulated on Tuesday, so 4 DPO today? No plans to test, waiting for period in two weeks or less. But it looks like we have managed to DTD O-5, O-3 and O-1 so I feel like it’s a decent chance. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Of course just as this is happening, I’ve decided it’s the perfect time to go on my weightloss journey and interview for new jobs 😬🫠 So idk what I am hoping for really, BFP or period. Lots of mixed emotions even at the possibility of it. I guess time will tell.
good luck to everyone in the TWW, and to anyone else who got a BFP and is somehow still in limbo! Such a mindf*ck this whole TTC journey….🍀

Hey @TinyBitChaotic sounds like you covered the timing well before ovulation! I hope the TWW goes quickly for you - I’m actually surprised I’m already in the early testing stage, doesn’t seem like 2 minutes ago that I was 3/4 DPO.

Have you been thinking about a job change for a while?

Thanks @DearKoala. How are you feeling? I had mixed feelings seeing the negative after MMC. Will you track or wait for your period?

Thanks @Springcloud26 ! Crossing all the toes and fingers for you!!!

I have been (re job change), I was deep in the job hunting process April-June, had a bunch of interviews but nothing transpired, so decided to give myself a break for thr summer and TTC. Which is when I got pregnant and subsequently had MMC. And now a month after the MMC I decided to try to do other things and not put life on hold for a theoretical future pregnancy and baby!

DearKoala · 03/10/2026 19:49

@Springcloud26 I have mixed feelings too. On one side relieved that hopefully things are getting back to normal so we can hopefully resume trying but also sad and frustrated that I'm not still pregnant. I've never tracked before, I have always felt that it would make me too stressed/anxious if I did. I am unsure whether I want to track now or not.

I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to put things in hold. I’ve been holding back from booking holidays, just in case, and then getting frustrated because all I want is a holiday and to chill out for a bit!

Good luck with your search!

@Pottingsheddays sorry you're having such a stressful time. I had to go to epu when I was pregnant with DC as got spotting first thing sat morning and that wait all weekend was so awful. Finger's crossed all good news tomorrow.
@TinyBitChaotic hopefully you get a new role soon! Do they offer enhanced mat leave where you are currently?
@Springcloud26 you should book that holiday! I went on holiday lots when I was pregnant with DC!
I've had no temperature rise at all since my positive opk test. What is going on !?! Anyone else ever have this? I'm worried I've not ovulated, especially as the test went from negative to positive so quickly. But not sure this is even a thing?

TinyBitChaotic · 04/10/2026 07:34

Thank you @Posypear ! That’s the tricky thing… I do have enhanced mat pay and have been in mu current job a long time so I qualify already, whereas a new job (if I land it) is likely to have a qualifying period. I think only a handful of companies have enhanced pay from day 1

I completely understand where you are coming from. I found tracking ovulation eased a bit of anxiety for me after my MMC as I felt more in control of where I was in cycle.

If this cycle isn’t successful for me, I may try a more relaxed approach next time and trust my body / CM more and dtd every other day when AF ends.

I hope your cycle gets back to normally soon x

Springcloud26 · 04/10/2026 10:27

@Posypear We have a couple of weekends planned and I think we will either do a week in the sun march time or go for a bit of a longer adventure (if not successful by end of the year!).

I’m sorry, I’ve never done temp tracking before so don’t really know what would be expected… have you continued lh tracking to see if there is another rise?

@TinyBitChaotic I was also considering a new role but same as you, I would lose my enhanced package for basic if it happened for us soon. Also I go through stages of feeling happy/ not with my current role, at the moment it’s going okay! It’s such a hard decision to make.

@Springcloud26 I may be crazy, but am hoping to get a long-haul trip in early next year whether this sticks or not. I suppose is impossible to know how you'll be feeling but there's no need to put life on hold, is there? Especially if is a relatively chilled out sort of place where you can beach yourself if needed.

Posypear · 04/10/2026 12:20

@tabbycatslave we went on two long haul holidays pregnant! I would say definitely go for it as you'll never get the freedom again!
@Springcloud26 no I didn't bother tracking as I used clear blue and got a static smiley. I guess we'll see where we get to in a few weeks!
@TinyBitChaotic I feel like so many friends were in a similar position! I guess choosing a job with flexibility is also important.

Pottingsheddays · 05/10/2026 20:39

Thanks @Springcloud26 and thanks for all the messages everyone 💕Had a scan this morning and measuring exactly seven weeks and saw a heartbeat. I know I should feel relieved but no one can find a reason for the pain so it feels like a repeat of the last pregnancy (when we also saw a positive scan at seven weeks). Trying to stay positive but finding it more difficult mentally than I expected.

Have you tested again since the weekend @Springcloud26?

Posypear · 06/10/2026 05:39

@Pottingsheddays so pleased to hear everything went well with the scan. Although completely understand the anxiety - must be so tough after what you've been through.

Springcloud26 · 06/10/2026 07:00

@Pottingsheddays I’m pleased your scan went well, but I understand the worry with the unexplained pain.

I tested earlier this morning (woke up and couldn’t sleep again) at 12 DPO and BFN so I think I’m out and waiting for period. In fact, I think I’ve just noticed a bit of spotting. Feel disappointed but if it is period, it’s right on time so good news for my cycle getting back to normal.

OP posts:
Witchfoot · 06/10/2026 08:10

Great news @Posypear! I hope all continues well and you're able to relax a little in time.

Sorry no BFP for you yet @Springcloud26, I understand the disappointment. That's good news about your cycle returning to normal though - hopefully this time around is easier without all the uncertainty around what's going on in there!

I found out that yet another friend is expecting a baby yesterday and I self-indulgently had a good ol' jealous mope. It feels even worse knowing that I would have had mine around the same time 🙁

What's everyone's approach to moderating caffeine/alcohol/junk food etc. while TTC? Part of me feels like I should abstain from all vices if I want to give myself the best chance, but I ALWAYS crack as soon as I have a bad day 😂
