Anyone TTC after a recent early loss and wanting support? (Aug 26)

Hi, I thought I’d start a separate thread for anyone who is TTC after a recent early loss, so we can support each other through what can be a really difficult time. 💕

I’m 39 and TTC for my first. I conceived after around four cycles, but sadly had a missed miscarriage mid-July at around 9 weeks, (development had stopped at 6).

I stopped bleeding last Sunday and have started noticing some cervical mucus returning over the past few days, so I’m hoping my body is beginning to get back into its normal rhythm.

I’m still testing positive on pregnancy tests, so can’t use LH strips to track ovulation yet, so for now, my plan is to get back to some exercise, eating well and have sex every 2-3 days. I’m feeling positive and hopeful but also trying to take my mind off the waiting!

If anyone else is going through something similar and would like to share the journey and support each other x

@DearKoala sorry to hear this. Glad you've found solace here.

Just got a static smiley after a negative one yesterday afternoon. No flashing? Has that ever happend to anyone else? Hoping we can fit in DTD for the next 2 days, managed today and yesterday.

Springcloud26 · 28/09/2026 21:11

@Posypear it’s not happened to me but I think it can happen to get your peak straight after low! Sounds like you’ve timed it well too, fingers crossed!

@Posypear sounds like perfect timing regardless - think though slow to get going after my chemical once I did it was quicker that usual, to solid smiley.

I tested again with a digital and FRER and it is 1-2 weeks/v faint but pink positive. Feeling more worried than excited... DP was more like 'OK, again?' rather than the tears of joy last time but I feel the same so can't blame him.

I am going to try to limit myself to one FRER a day and try not to spiral looking up the definition of very faint / faint, which I have been doing with my morning tea ..

Springcloud26 · 29/09/2026 07:37

@tabbycatslave I completely understand the worry, I know I would be the same if I get a positive again. What DPO are you now? I have everything crossed for you x

That's promising news @tabbycatslave, though I understand the mixed emotions. I'll keep everything crossed for you too! ❤️

No luck for me yet this cycle and I'm about 10dpo, so not feeling very hopeful. This will be my third period post-MC as well, so it seems the 'you're extra fertile after a MC' lore hasn't played out for me.

TTC sucks balls.

:(

Springcloud26 · 29/09/2026 18:19

@Witchfoot I’m sorry to hear you haven’t got your BFP yet, ttc certainly plays with your emotions feeling hopeful one minute and then feeling less so another. Sending a big hug ❤️

I contacted my gp yesterday thinking if it takes 10 weeks or so to get a fertility appointment at least it will be booked in; they rang me back today and have booked us in for 13th Oct! Wasn’t expecting that. A small part of me hopes I can cancel it, but knowing we have it scheduled is reassuring.

5 DPO today and I know I will be symptom spotting for implantation from tomorrow 🤦‍♀️

Thanks @Springcloud26 ❤️

Oh wow, that's speedy! As you say, good to have in the diary as a back-up, but hopefully you won't need it! 🤞

Is it just an initial chat you're booked in for or is the provisional plan to have tests done on the day?

I’m actually not sure, it’s a double appointment 15 mins each for me and my partner. I guess they could do bloods in that time? I was so shocked about getting it booked in, I forgot to ask what they wanted to do! 😂

Witchfoot · 29/09/2026 18:34

😂 totally understandable!

Posypear · 29/09/2026 19:36

@Springcloud26 that's impressive! Would that be because you've been trying for 6 months and over 35? Ours will be 6 months next month but was wondering if it counts if you have got pregnant and miscarried? I was thinking of getting a full private investigation too if the NHS one will take too long.

Springcloud26 · 29/09/2026 19:56

@Posypear yep, we’ve been trying since January and the MMC is on my gp records and they were still happy to schedule the appointment thankfully. 😊

@Springcloud26 that’s good you’ve got the appointment. Keeping everything crossed for you!

@tabbycatslave promising news. I hope your morning tea is more peaceful and you manage to distract yourself, it’s so hard.

@Witchfoot im on 3rd cycle too. Agree TTC sucks balls!

Had been saying above I have never had a positive OPK test and after 15 tests this month (10 clear blue and 5 emergency Asda cheapies) on the last one it was positive, Day 18. Looking back at both my mc and DC, I think I am a late ovulator and I’m worried about how much of the last 2.5 years I’ve wasted not really appreciating that!

Witchfoot · 30/09/2026 11:58

Sad high-five @ElinorDashw00d 💐

It took regular OPKs for me to figure out that I ovulate later than I thought too! The few physical symptoms I get through my cycle are surprisingly useless in terms of figuring out where I am as well 😂

Springcloud26 · 30/09/2026 17:38

@Witchfoot @ElinorDashw00d yep I was getting the timing completely wrong until I started using OPKs!

6 DPO today, I feel like I’m now officially in symptom spotting territory and half way point of TWW!

Thanks @Springcloud26 great you got an appointment so quickly. Fingers crossed you won't need to attend if this is your month.

When do you think you'll cave and test? Or do you think you'll manage to hold out?

Thank you @Posypear I’ve just been googling and my head tells me I should wait until at least Sunday (10 DPO) but I might cave 8 or 9 DPO!

How are you doing, have you entered your TWW?

@Springcloud26 it's so tough to wait isn't it?! I hope you have nice weekend plans so you can distract yourself.

I think I ovulated yesterday. Annoyingly we tried to dtd yesterday and couldn't but we did the 3 days prior. Finding it so hard to fit it in currently and feels like a lot of pressure on us both. I honestly find the 2ww easier than the fertile window as at least I don't have to worry about missing the window!

ElinorDashw00d · 01/10/2026 07:07

@Springcloud26 keeping everything crossed for you. I hope you have some nice distractions for the next few days.

@Posypear it is stressful isn’t it! There’s nothing you can do but your best and the dates won’t always match up with what’s going on in your life.

@Witchfoot thank you. Temp went up this morning so think I’ve finally cracked how I should be monitoring. While at the same time not going completely crazy 😅. It’s so tricky.

I made sure I went to the loo this morning before I could even think about testing at 7 DPO! Not really noticing any symptoms, maybe a bit more discharge again and very slight fluttering in stomach yesterday but I’ve had a stressful week at work so I think it’s that.

It sounds like you have covered your timing well, even missing ovulation day. I covered the 2 days before when I conceived. I have been reading that sperm needs time for capacitation to be ready, so 1 or 2 days before is still great timing!

Thanks @ElinorDashw00d , we are going out tonight for some food and a film, but have a quiet weekend which will be hardest - I’ll have to make sure I make some plans 😂

@Posypear honestly it sounds like you've done all you can (have also read that the day before is actually better anyway). It's just luck from now... hoope the wait goes by v quickly.

@Springcloud26 you'll be 9dpo tomorrow? I think waiting till Monday would be healthiest but it's not craaazy to test then as long as it's just once a day, right? I am not one to criticise.

I am still testing positive, so thank you very much for the kind thoughts. It's definitely progressed better than last time (where I got a decent positive that by about today had faded almost to zero). Still not as dark as I'd like though at about 13dpo on the FRERs. :/

Am trying to keep the testing to 1x per day and am avoiding the Easy@home strips because they were making me spiral.

Posypear · 02/10/2026 11:50

Thanks @Springcloud26 and @tabbycatslave I'm now worried to ovulation tests weren't that accurate but im just spiralling now!

That's exciting @tabbycatslave fingers crossed everything goes in the right direction!

Pottingsheddays · 02/10/2026 12:15

@Springcloud26 - that’s great news that the GP was supportive about an appt. Fingers crossed you don’t end up needing it, but good to have something planned. I’ve never held out longer than 9dpo to test, so no judgment here if you cave early!

@Posypear fingers crossed this is your month. It’s so much harder to feel like you’ve got the timing right with a toddler in the mix.

That’s great news that it’s getting darker @tabbycatslave. I had the best line progression with my MMC so have decided it doesn’t mean anything and stopped testing once AF was late. Feels very odd not to have tested in over two weeks though!

Springcloud26 · 02/10/2026 13:59

Has anyone had a positive at 9 DPO with the easy @ home strips? I don’t know if they are the sensitive ones or not?

I did, it was very, very, very faint. I think they're supposed to be 10mlU/ml (it will say on the packaging/leaflet somewhere) but I'm sceptical. The new Ultra Early/pink dye CB are the best I've tried, but ££££.
