Anyone TTC after a recent early loss and wanting support? (Aug 26)

Hi, I thought I’d start a separate thread for anyone who is TTC after a recent early loss, so we can support each other through what can be a really difficult time. 💕

I’m 39 and TTC for my first. I conceived after around four cycles, but sadly had a missed miscarriage mid-July at around 9 weeks, (development had stopped at 6).

I stopped bleeding last Sunday and have started noticing some cervical mucus returning over the past few days, so I’m hoping my body is beginning to get back into its normal rhythm.

I’m still testing positive on pregnancy tests, so can’t use LH strips to track ovulation yet, so for now, my plan is to get back to some exercise, eating well and have sex every 2-3 days. I’m feeling positive and hopeful but also trying to take my mind off the waiting!

If anyone else is going through something similar and would like to share the journey and support each other x

Tested again first thing and it’s fainter than before so I guess this is early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy.
Im gutted.

Fluffy, I hope you're OK. :( . Not @-ting you in case you need some space away from these boards.

I'm 7dpo or so now, not feeling very hopeful at all but I know it's impossible to tell. Worrying now a bit about summerborn issues, although I'd rather that than no luck at all for ages, of course. And maybe will be too late for no 2, if we want that, if we have lots of failures. Just want everything to hurry up. Everyone I know is either pregnant or done.

DP just says it's fine, no need to doom and gloom immediately, but easy for him to say. I don't think he felt the sadness in the same way at all.

I can understand wanting to protect your heart, it can be worrying time TTC especially after experiencing loss.

Will you test early or wait?

I’m 2DPO and already think the next week or so will go very slowly! We did time it well andi caught my peak so feeling cautiously hopeful but I know even then it might not happen.

I tested today, lol, to answer your question. I'm going to try to hold off until Monday from now just because it's such a waste of money. For my chemical, i had symptoms before testing (high temp, needing to wee, achy, pink spotting); there's nothing yet.

Is great you caught the right time -- fingers crossed! I am sure it will happen for us all, but I want now now now.

I waited until 15 DPO last time, can’t believe I did that! I know I’ll be too impatient this time, will try and wait until 12 DPO.

Fingers crossed for you on Monday 🤞

8DPO BFN, of course, lol.

Hi everyone. Hope all okay. My pregnancy was def a chemical as have continued to bleed and have stark negative this morning. What a flash in the pan that was!
Can I expect to ovulate again as normal now? Want to get straight back on the horse…

It really sucks, but I found I felt better once it was definitely done/over, I hope it's the same for you.

My cycle just seems to have stretched a bit afterwards. Period was 2 days late and then it took a couple more days than usual to get into 'flashing smiley' territory. After that my LH rose as normal/maybe quicker. I'm sure everyone's different so YMMV but think for me it's added up to less than a week of lost time.

Thanks, yes that’s the same for me. Onwards and upwards. This is a numbers game… we go again!
Funny because that’s what happened for me on the chemical cycle - ovulated late, then pregnant, then.. not.
I’ll keep an eye on the lh strips - back into mental territory 🥴🥴

Hello, it’s me. The girl who said a mere 3 weeks ago, after her MMC, that she was just going to go with the flow.
As long as I know exactly where the flow is going. 🤡😂

I haven’t used OPKs in years, and I’d only ever used them for one cycle back in the day. So… is this Peak? Or am I still in the “getting there” camp?

And what does it actually mean? Am I likely to ovulate today, tomorrow, Wednesday…? 🤔
We DTD Saturday night, and maybe we can manage again today. But are we even still in the game?!

ElinorDashw00d · 28/09/2026 11:57

@TinyBitChaotic definitely still in the game and would try and manage tonight definitely and tomorrow as well. Difficult though sometimes with other things going on.

I’m CD16 and still negative OPKs. Been testing for 10 days now so had to go and buy more today. Never had a positive one except when I was pregnant and using it like a pregnancy test!

Hey @TinyBitChaotic hope you are doing okay.

Have you tested negative yet? I found my LH strips stayed positive while hcg was still in my system, it took over 7 weeks to completely clear!

Otherwise I would say that is peak and to go for it! 😊

TinyBitChaotic · 28/09/2026 12:15

Thank you, ladies!

My HCG tests have gone super super suuuuper faint. Like a whisper of a line but annoying I still can see it, whereas my LH tests have been faint the last few days and gotten darker today!

tabbycatslave · 28/09/2026 12:40

I just tested (think 9DPO) and I think there might be something there - not going to post as my camera isn't picking it up but there is definitely some pink to it... used a crappy blue dye one this morning that also had something but thought possibly just dye run. Eek.

@tabbycatslave fingers crossed for you! If something is showing so early that surely must be a good sign? !

@fluffycauliflowers sorry to hear this. After both my chemicals I ovulated 1 day late so pretty much a normal cycle.

Pottingsheddays · 28/09/2026 16:33

I’m so sorry @fluffycauliflowers. How are
you feeling? My cycle was a few days longer after my early miscarriage and ovulated a day or two later but not hugely different to usual.

Exciting @tabbycatslave! Fingers crossed for a clearer line tomorrow. Mine was also very faint at 9DPO

DearKoala · 28/09/2026 18:56

I hope you don't mind me joining. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, a little less than 2 weeks ago whilst trying for our second baby. Now I really want to try again but stuck in the horrible wait for first cycle and to make sure preg test is negative. I hate that we are all in this rubbish situation but reading all the previous messages in this thread has made me feel less alone.

I’m sorry you are also going through this, it is an awful experience. I was the same, the wait for my cycle to get back to normal was so hard, I just wanted to move forward and try again. I hope your cycle returns to normal soon. ❤️
