Anyone TTC after a recent early loss and wanting support? (Aug 26)

Hi, I thought I’d start a separate thread for anyone who is TTC after a recent early loss, so we can support each other through what can be a really difficult time. 💕

I’m 39 and TTC for my first. I conceived after around four cycles, but sadly had a missed miscarriage mid-July at around 9 weeks, (development had stopped at 6).

I stopped bleeding last Sunday and have started noticing some cervical mucus returning over the past few days, so I’m hoping my body is beginning to get back into its normal rhythm.

I’m still testing positive on pregnancy tests, so can’t use LH strips to track ovulation yet, so for now, my plan is to get back to some exercise, eating well and have sex every 2-3 days. I’m feeling positive and hopeful but also trying to take my mind off the waiting!

If anyone else is going through something similar and would like to share the journey and support each other x

Well, look at us! @Pottingsheddays@Maybebby
Yes I think I will def have an early scan - I won’t be able to wait until 12 weeks. It’s only ever reassuring for as long as you’re in the room, but it’s still something.
I hate the cramping feeling as I just keep expecting to bleed. I’ve had it for a while too.

A friend who has had multiple losses told me about progesterone pessaries. Anyone aware of these? Apparently they help thicken the lining and increase chances of a sticky baby… I am going to ask my GP

Yes absolutely, there is no way I could wait till 12 weeks either!

I had progesterone pessaries with my daughter, i also want to get in contact with someone in getting some because I think it really helped that pregnancy be successful. I bled with her, but thankfully there was a heartbeat on the scan (this was at 8 weeks), no reason for bleeding but I was put on the pessaries till 16 weeks and I stopped bleeding when I started them! I just don’t know who to speak to? Maybe I should try my doctors too…

fluffycauliflowers · 22/09/2026 11:24

I’ve bled in every pregnancy so far - successful or not (2 boys, 1 MC). I would really like to get some if I can. Happy to pay but just not sure how to go about it.
Otherwise maybe an online pharmacy?? Or perhaps EPU?

same, every pregnancy I’ve bled too, it’s awful!

I feel abit lost as to where to get some or who to speak to. When I googled about contacting EPU apparently you have to of had 3 miscarriages so I don’t know if I’d qualify…I would defo pay for it myself too I don’t mind about that it’s just getting my hands on some! I feel like the GP wouldn’t prescribe either but I’m not sure

@fluffycauliflowers that’s great that the tests are getting darker. I’m also 4+6 today! And have had the cramping and pulling sensations for ten days now which I’m still finding unnerving.

@Springcloud26 any sign of that static smiley yet? X

Not yet! CD 18, noticed wetter CM so I’m hoping it will be in the next few days 😊

My fingers are crossed for you @Springcloud26

@MaybebbyI think we only qualify if there is bleeding. From what I’ve been able to uncover. They can prescribe without you needing to have had 3 previous miscarriages but there would need to have been at least 1, plus bleeding. Then you would have a scan and only once they have seen the intrauterine sac can they prescribe.
So we wait for bleeding I guess

Oh wonderful, that’s fun😵‍💫🙃 thanks for letting me know, I guess the waiting game continues for us!

CD 19 and I think I have my peak! 0.45 this morning and 1.59 just now 😊 will test again this evening.

Does this mean I will ovulate today or tomorrow? Premom app has changed my predicted ovulation day to today, but I’m not sure…

OP posts:
Pottingsheddays · 23/09/2026 18:36

Yay exciting, finally! I always assume ovulation is around 24-36 hours after the start of the peak surge, so would assume it will be tomorrow but maybe Premom knows more than I do!

Springcloud26 · 23/09/2026 21:21

@Pottingsheddays yep I think I will take it as tomorrow, the day after peak. It’s 1.24 now so may be coming down again.

I think it will be tomorrow @Springcloud26. Get dancing! Cover yourself for the next 3 days I would 🤣

I have some bleeding his morning so am full of anxiety

fluffycauliflowers · 24/09/2026 10:24

I have a feeling this may be a chemical. I looked at the bleeding from my last successful pregnancy and although the bleeding was more than I have now, I had very dark tests and my tests this time have stayed super faint.

@fluffycauliflowers sorry to hear this. How many dpo are you ? The tests aren't getting lighter which is a good thing?

fluffycauliflowers · 24/09/2026 11:19

@Posypear I'm 15 dpo which puts me at 5+1
I had bleeding at this exact point with my second child (including clotting) and he was fine. But dark tests as I say, and these are so light...
I feel really dejected tbh.

so sorry this is happening😟 I hope it’s not what you think but I understand your concerns. It’s so tough❤️‍🩹

Sorry you are experiencing this, I hope it isn’t bad news for you and understand how worrying it must be 🙁

I tested 0.70 this morning so yesterday was the peak and I’m expecting to ovulate today or tomorrow. We dtd yesterday morning and will do today and hopefully next 2 days!

@fluffycauliflowers so sorry it's so stressful and tough. I started bleeding at 15dpo with my last 2 chemicals but by that point my cheapy tests were negative. Finger's crossed it's good news for you.

fluffycauliflowers · 24/09/2026 12:57

Thanks @Posypear. I’m assuming the worst for now. I guess I just see what the bleeding does and will have to keep testing. Which doesn’t help with the anxiety! But what else can I do 🤷‍♀️

ElinorDashw00d · 24/09/2026 15:05

@fluffycauliflowers sorry to hear this. Fingers crossed for your next test. It’s not easy and I hope you’re ok.

ElinorDashw00d · 24/09/2026 15:09

Posypear · 21/09/2026 06:05

@ElinorDashw00d have you considered doing sperm meets egg? It gives testing
Lh a scucture I find helpful so I know my bases are covered! I've got pregnant every time when I've done it properly.

@Springcloud26 great news! Hope you both feel better soon.

@fluffycauliflowers definitely looks darker. How many dpo are you ?

I’m not sure how to reply to messages @Posypear so hope I’ve done this right!

I have tried to stick to the sperm meets egg structure but I have never had a peak on an LH test, but also used them a bit inconsistently.

Last month I had one night away on my own which i am sure was the peak.

And this month we are going away for the weekend staying with friends, and I think the peak will be then. Such bad timing. Hoping for a delayed peak!

Thinking of you, being in limbo is just horrible. Not to encourage more anxious testing, but have you tried a different brand -- those strips I think can take quite a while to get dark. Of course there's nothing you can do but wait and see, best of luck for tomorrow.

Posypear · 24/09/2026 19:00

@ElinorDashw00d do you use clear blue ovulation tests? They are expensive but worth it ! It's always the worst timing isn't it ?! So frustrating.

Yes I got given some recently, they are really good and seem to make things a lot clearer in my mind!

Pottingsheddays · 24/09/2026 20:13

That sounds really stressful @fluffycauliflowers. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Hope you can distract yourself a bit over the next few days

Oh thanks for this. I haven’t no, only the clear blue early digital. I could try another brand..
I’ll see what the tests are saying in the morning. I feel cramps but mild- 2/3 out of 10. I’ve had more bleeding but not crazy amounts. So hard to know…

I use the clear blue ones too, it is really reassuring to see the flashing smiley start to appear so you know you are entering your fertile window!

How long are your cycles usually? What cycle day are you currently on?
