Wow what an amazing match!!! So stressful to watch, I felt sick with nerves!!! Actually have the highlights show on now so that I can watch the play properly rather than peeking through fingers . DH has a friend who has won £8,000 for betting that Spain would win football and Nadal the tennis - how hard must it have been for him to watch .
Sounds like there is lots of imminent goffing and testing for this week - shoulod be a bust few weeks for the wagon testing-wise!
Back at work tomorrow, but will try and pop in throughout the day
Oh and yes Gruffolo it is worth it!! They can all be little s*its at times, but the good parts definitely outweigh the bad .

Diege · 06/07/2008 22:16

busy few weeks

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 07/07/2008 08:24

Morning

LB - so sorry DP is being an arse Not what you need right now. I hope you have managed to talk about it, and that Diege was here to see you through it. As she said we are here whenever you want to off load

Cal, so sorry if it is your period, but I think the docs is a good place to start. I wouldn't build up to your op too much though, think I told you already but my sister had her op delayed 3 or 4 times before they actually did it (was about 2 years later than hoped), fingers crossed though they do do it in Aug, you can't carry on with them like that for much longer surely? (And I know, I know, I haven't replied again, time just seems to be slipping through my fingers at the moment)

Star sickness can (and does) happen before your period is due/late, I've had it all 4 times before period was due - good luck!

I have decided Diege that you are more than welcome to your toyboy, having only previously seen him in those pics I linked to, I did think he was very scrummy, but then watching him this morning on Sky News, he isn't quite as scrummy in "RL". Bet you're really pleased now eh?!! LOL And of your friend, DH said Spain was going to win the football before the tourney even started, and kicked himself when they did and he hadn't put any money on them! Neither of us follow the tennis in any way so it wouldn't have been £8000 in any case!

Spose I'd better get on, still got his lunch to do, DS1 needs to brush his teeth and get dressed, DS2 is still in his highchair.... hate school mornings! Especially Monday ones!

tinkspregnantwithnumber2 · 07/07/2008 08:34

morning ladies

why do i always get nervous
it is pouring down here

GYo · 07/07/2008 08:43

Morning all

Cant believe its Monday already.

Good luck with the scan Tink

calsworld · 07/07/2008 09:13

Tink, have fun! Looking forward to seeing your profile updated

Morning NJ! All the way through TTC I've been of the mind that the rest of life can't go on hold 'just in case', so we'll see what happens at the appts. Would be very nice not to have to contend with tonsillitis and MS at the same time.

Star - I can't resist the symptom spotting, just for fun really, so that in the event that I do get pregnant I can say "oh, yes, I knew all along because there was this, and this, and this....."! Besides, its just no fun if you can't symptom spot and get a little excited that you just might be!

I'm with you on the queasy thing, I'm turning up my nose at food which is quite unlike me and not something I've put down as a pre-AF symptom in any other month...could be a hang-over from my upset tummy last weekend though. I've also got dry patches appearing on my legs which happened last time too....

calsworld · 07/07/2008 09:13

Morning GYo!

GruffaloSoldier · 07/07/2008 09:42

Morning everyone

GYo I spoke to a different friend at the weekend who is pregnant and she has chosen the royal surrey for her birth. She said there wasn't a lot of difference between RS and Frimley. Apparently 6 years ago or something Frimley had a slightly lower c-section rate but thats it! I'm sure you will be told when it comes to make the choice though!

I am at home again for another day of dissertation mn hard graft

Caved in and did another test, still too early but wanted to give my dad a birthday present! (it's today). Needless to say BFN!BOOOOOOOOOO!Hissssssss!

Good luck with scan tink!

Playingthe9monthwait · 07/07/2008 10:01

Morning All,

LB - Nothing knew to add, just seconding the advice you have already had! We are all here for you, hopefully you and DP can resolve this, no one should be bullied in their own home and the children should not have to witness it!

BB - Glad you popped back, we have all been missing you and wondering how you were getting on. Sounds like you have completely the right attitude. Keep in touch, xx.

Sounds like everyone else has had a pretty eventful weekend!

Rang the doctors up this morning to book an apt. Told the reception I had just discovered I was pg should I see the gp or midwife and she was very helpful, I know, I was shocked! Booked me in for an evening apt with the gp tonight (he needs to offically refer me) and has also booked me in to see the midwife on the 16th July. How quick is that! I am amazed, you normally wait 2 weeks to se the gp and I thought I would wait forever to see the midwife too. They are also both evening apts do I don't have to miss work either. I think I might let myself start to get excited once I've seen the midwife, which is of course a totally new and exciting experience for me.

kayzisexpecting · 07/07/2008 10:30

HELLLLLOOOOO!!

I haven't read through but I have kinda guessed Playing has got a BFP!!!!

We have no net at home and I really hate it. I'm missing everyone so much!!!

Hopefully it will be sorted today!!!!

Hope everyone is ok and feeling good!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 07/07/2008 10:49

Hi KAy - hope you get the internet fixed soon, its been quiet without you! Oh and yes you guessed right!

Heebeejeebee · 07/07/2008 11:06

Morning all

LB - I hope your chat with DP went ok..

Tink - good luck at the scan!

Went to the drs this morning who had no hesitation in referring me back to the hospital (was just at stage of having hsg when i got my bfp).

Had an interesting conversation re luteal phases though:

Him: If your cycle is 26 days, you should ov around day 12
Me: Actually, I wanted to ask you about that - I have a monitor which says I ov around days 14-17 and that seems a very short luteal phase to me
Him: How strange. It should be day 12
Me: I know - I'm a bit concerned myself.
Him: Oh well.. Start at day 12 and work from there

probably just as well he's referring me, really..

tinkspregnantwithnumber2 · 07/07/2008 11:16

hi girls

scan was great have put pics on.
bean was so active. saw kicking and waved etc.
they moved me forward 2 days so am 12 wks plus 4 days.

calsworld · 07/07/2008 11:29

Oooh Tink - great pictures! I love first scan's, they're so mysterious looking and magical, something a bit ethereal about them, don't you think?

Hi Kay - I must have missed the post about you going off on holidays, I was starting to worry about you....where've you been, what did you do, was it nice, did you get to rest?

I'm not as nosy as NJ !!

calsworld · 07/07/2008 11:30

HBJB - agree good to get referral, I guess Doc was just trying to make sure you do spend all week GOF'ing , will it take you long to get an appointment?

Playingthe9monthwait · 07/07/2008 11:35

Glad your scan went ok Tink - the pics are great!

Sounds like its a good thing you are getting refered Heebee, bloody gps eh. What I don't get is that there is no way they can be an experts at everything, thats why hospitals have specialists. So why do they find it so hard to admit they don't know much about something so would rather refer you to someone who does. How hard would it been of the gp to say "well I'm not an expert in LP defects so if you believe you are oving later than day 12 maybe we should refer you to a specialist?"

kookykid · 07/07/2008 11:44

Hi everyone, How brilliant was the tennis??

LB - I hope you've had the chance to talk to your DH and get a few things straight - there's no way his behaviour is acceptable but I think you're right to be calm and rational and to explain clearly how it makes you feel. It is not OK to take his feeligs out on you in that way, particularly when your pg. Hope things are better now.

Tink your pics are fab! Remember seeing DD at 12 week scan and being sompletely overwhelmed!

Playing glad docs were able to ge toyu appoinments so quickly.

Heebee good you're being referered

Cal Your symptoms sound quite promising, I am feeling very PMTish (sore boobs and irritable as hell!) and got a BFN this morning (I know I'd said tomrrow but I'm weak!).

kookykid · 07/07/2008 11:45

What's sompletely???

kookykid · 07/07/2008 11:46

Obviously I am a a bit typing-impaired this morning!

calsworld · 07/07/2008 11:48

Hi KK, I think we've both done really well - CD28 and only one POAS between us! Have to admit, I very nearly did one this morning but I was absolutely bursting for a wee and DH was having a shave and I didn't want to cave in front of him...he thinks tests are for when AF is late and doesn't understand why I feel the urge at all

Sorry your symptoms make you feel like AF is coming, will keep my fingers crossed for you anyway!

According to you horrible lovely lot I have to wait a whole week more before testing although am sure AF will come before then.

calsworld · 07/07/2008 11:54

SOMPLETELY = so completely
HECTOTIC = hectic and chaotic

We'll have a whole wagon full of new words!

Teuch · 07/07/2008 11:55

Heebee - your GP is acting on the (wrong) assumption that every woman has a 14 day luteal phase . Frustrating, especially if you have evidence to show that you ovulate later and therefore have a shorter LP.

FWIW, short LP is not usually a problem unless it is less than 10 days. You can take vitamin supplements (Vit E and evening primrose, I think) to help lengthen LP too, although I have no idea how effective this is.

Also, your LP should not change by more than a day from month to month, so it might be worthwhile trying to 'pin-down' ovulation so you can work out whether it is closer to CD17 (which would be the potentially more problematic time if your cycle remained 26days)

Tink - fab scan pictures

Playingthe9monthwait · 07/07/2008 12:02

KK and Cal, my fingers are firmly crossed for you both!!!!

Hi Teuch, long time no speak, how are you doing?

Teuch · 07/07/2008 12:14

Good thanks, Playing 15wks, or thereabouts, but still getting the odd flash of nausea

How are you feeling? Still in 'disbelief' mode or have you moved onto 'this is real!!!' yet?

Starshinetiger · 07/07/2008 12:33

Playing - OH MY GOD - can't believe that I missed the week you got your BFP - fantastic news, many congratulations. So funny that when I first joined the thread you back at beginning of year, you were so definitely waiting until Sept and then you fall first month!
Diege - meant to say, how come you weren't on the "You Would, Wouldn't You" thread re. Nadal yesterday?!
Cals and KK - fingers crossed for you. I know this week is going to drag for me - AF due Friday to Sunday, so testing Monday earliest - I know I already said this, but it is exciting isn't it!
Right, should be working.
Anyone with any tips on getting rid of headlice?! DS sent home again today for them - we combed on Saturday and treated with Full Marks and combing yesterday and he still has them today. I was also riddled on Saturday, so did same for me - using my Mum's excellent comb from 1981!!! and now am itching again, but have spent over an hour each night combing - am going to despair that both DS and I need to have heads shaved!
