I think the 'lives with his mother' stat says it all really..

kookykid · 01/07/2008 11:24

Thanks guys, am SO excited about getting them home, but won't be for another couple of weeks at least.

NJ, Your hedge-man sounds like a real catch!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/07/2008 11:27

LOL I don't think he has always lived with her, I think at one point he was married because they have a lad come to visit every other weekend, thinking it's his son....

The mum has lived there for years and years, none of the other neighbours knows anything about her (or him) they only tend to come out of the house to do their garden. I think I have only ever seen the mum about 3/4 times since we moved here 5 years ago.

The only other thing I know is that they don't like noise - oh well! LOL

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 11:28

Aww, your Kittens are so sweet kooky!

Deige - no tests in the house which helps. Mind you I live 150m from Waitrose and Boots so tests are within very easy reach!

kookykid · 01/07/2008 11:39

Resist, Playing, resist! (Unles of course you WANT to test !

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 11:42

No chance of testing yet. Might crumble at the weekend but certainly not yet. Even if I was pg I am sure I wouldn't get a BFP so early so whats the point? It will just waste far too much money.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/07/2008 11:52

Gave him the bottle of wine my MIL gave me for my birthday (Durrr I'm pregnant!) LOL

Test, test, test, test, test (but not till the weekend)

Did I just say that?

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 12:24

Nat you do make me laugh

Heebeejeebee · 01/07/2008 12:44

Hi Ladies

Sadly no need to test for me because AF just arrived . Tut and sigh. Have made a drs appointment for Friday as dr told me post-m/c to come back in 4-6 months if I wasn't pregnant again (took 12 months and a threatened hsg to get my bfp). Hope he meant it, because here I come!

I've got everything crossed for everyone else!

kookykid · 01/07/2008 13:25

Sorry for AF Heebee.

Heebeejeebee · 01/07/2008 13:33

Thanks Kooky - I had managed to convince myself I actually was pregnant - doh!

I meant to say - your kittens are gorgeous! (Tried to see whether I preferred Minnie or Beryl, but can't pick a favourite)

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 13:55

Hi Heebee, sorry to hear about AF. Think going to gps might be a good plan. You know I don't even think AF would convince me I was not pg without doing one sneaky test after all these stories of implantation bleeding. But that is probably just me being sad and one of the main reasons I will not test yet because I know I won't believe it.

I am also working very hard trying to convince myself that I don't honestly believe I am pg so AF isn't a shock. After all my boobs hurt before AF every month, so just cos they have been sore and heavy for about a week doesn't actually mean I am pg! And yes I am knackered, but whats new and I did have a def metalic taste in my mouth at the weekend but thats gone now. Every "symptom" can have a perfectly good explanation but still, I can't help clinging to the hope that just because it doesn't def mean I am pg, doesn't mean that I'm not!

Oh and Ses, I forgot to say earlier, I am glad you're scan was clear, bring on AF!

calsworld · 01/07/2008 15:27

HBJB sorry for your AF, not good at some of the acronyms...what is hsg?

I've barely been in the office for the last couple of weeks, and when I have I've been in meetings all the time, now I'm really behind on work and am up to my elbows in paperwork and emails and problems....grrrr.

On the plus side, I do get to work at home on the hottest day of the year and drink lovely cold apple juice and eat fresh made brie and ham baguettes AND scoff a chocolate bar without wondering who'd counting my calories for me (what is it with some people!).

KK, kittens are v v cute, mum had five (don't ask) a number of years ago now, and two of them looked just like the two you're getting. Lets hope they're nice friendly cats, not over demanding, not overly ignorant!!

Good luck with tomorrow tink - is it scan or m/w appt?

I still remember my 16 week appt with the m/w when DH came with me and we heard the heartbeat for the first time, was really amazing. I had been a bit worried (no reason, just normal I think) so was very relieved to hear it.

Sometimes I wonder why I want to do it again when DS is just sooooo wonderful and I'm enjoying him so much, but then I remember all the lovely things about being pregnant, having a newborn, watching them grow and more importantly, I really want DS to have brothers and sisters (actually, only just mentioned to DH that I'd like more than two he was a bit taken aback!!) LOL!

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 15:32

Hi Cal - tis a very nice day to be at home!

DH and I always have the playful argument over number of kids. He wants 2, I want 3 (he is 1 of 2, I am 1 of 3) I have no doubt I will win in the end but he certainly enjoys winding me up about it . And tbh who knows what the future will hold, I may have terrible problems just getting pg with one dc, so I am willing to be flexible and go with the flow.

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 15:33

oh and I also had a brie bagette for lunch, brie, tomarto and pesto. yummy. Trying to get my fill just in case I happen to get a BFP!

Heebeejeebee · 01/07/2008 15:44

Playing - just to feel doubly foolish I did a test first thing this morning, then discovered she's arrived.. At least I did a cheapie ebay one so it didn't cost me a fortune..

Cal - hsg is hystersalpinogram where they send dye through your tubes to check there aren't any blockages. At my hospital you can't prebook them (they will only do them from day 7-10 of your cycle to be sure you're not pregnant) and you have to call up on day 1 of AF. I was getting so wound up because AF hadn't arrived (I had already missed one month as days 7-10 were Christmas Eve/Day and Boxing Day) that I forgot to think about being pregnant!

Am very jealous of you all at home - I'm in the office (but with a Calippo to cheer me up...)

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 16:11

I'm in the office too Heebee

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/07/2008 16:30

Argghhhhhhh impromptu play date - hate the feckers.........

Am joking but my god give me at least 10 minutes notice! LOL

Can no longer hide in here, I have to face them don't I?

May see you later, if I survive!!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 17:14

Well if I get pg this month (you never know) it will be my turn to feel sick through the hot part of the summer. Hmm, maybe its not such a bad thing if I don't get pg right away!

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 17:22

Right, I am off home. Got friends coming round for dinner so have to pop to Waitrose and find something to cook. Currently I am considering summer roast chicken with roasted pepper risotto. Might pick a couple of courgettes from the garden to go with it too. Hmm, not sure, will have to potter round the supermarket for inspiration.

Have a nice evening all.

lardybump · 01/07/2008 17:32

Night playing. Dinner sounds nice...

DS1: "friend, do you know my mums name?"
Friend: "ermmmmmm...... Nat?"
DS1: "Yep"
Friend: "I don't know your Dad's name though"
DS1: "Luh, eh, eh"
Friend: "Lee?"
DS1: "Yep"
Friend: "Is it Lee or Liam?"

She is doomed for a future of MN and the baby names thread

Dinners going down well though, bonus!
