Hi guys! Moving the January thread here!

CD 17 and my LH test was at 0.37. Last cycle it only got this high on my way up to peak. Which is great after my 65 day cycle last time around (don’t want to go through that again!) but I’ve got no EWCM! So if I am about to ovulate I’m not feeling hopeful about the sperm’s chances.

Feeling a bit rubbish atm, my body is clearly out of kilter. But maybe Lh will be lower in the morning and this is just a random fluctuation? Anyone else had this happen before?

@Anya23 good luck for your scan on Monday! At which week point will you be at? I guess it’s an ‘early’ scan?

@HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy remind me, do you have PCOS? you mentioned a 65 day long cycle wow. How many times a day are you testing LH?
I seem to get a rapid surge so I usually miss a ‘peak’ but mine has never gone above 0.7/0.8 and I’ve ovulated normally. My BBT shifts upwards to confirm. Still deciding if I should get progesterone measured or not. I’m 6DPO today….

Thanks! I'll be 6+2, my doc said to go on week six, so this is the most I can wait, lol!
I'd say go for it, it won't hurt to see your level, at least when you'll get pregnant, you have something to show your doc as well

Yes I was told I could get an early scan next time too. Hopefully Monday will be reassuring for you. The next time I’ll be able to get it measured will be Monday so I’ll be CD23 by then, not sure if it’s a little late like 9DPO when they recommend 7! But I guess it should still be okay.

@EmeraldPie Hi, yes, I do have PCOS. Cycles range from 35-65 days, with longer being more normal for me. I’m only testing once a day at the moment as no EWCM so think I’m still a way off ovulation, normally get it for 5 days or so before ovulation. Will test more frequently when have EWCM. I did get a postive Lh test last cycle, (on day 52 I think) but it clearly didn’t work.

Just this early higher reading had thrown me a bit. Will see what it says tomorrow! Why is TTC so stressful 😣

Fingers crossed you'll ovulate sooner this cycle! Do I remember correctly that you have other children as well? How many cycles did it took to conceive before?

@Anya23 Well remembered! I never know how anyone keeps track of these things with such a busy thread! Yes, 2 children. First took 7 months, only 3 cycles. Second was first cycle! I was hoping it would be quick this time too, to keep the age gap down.

I haven’t been to the GP about my really long cycle as it hasn’t caused me any problems conceiving and I feel that if they start messing around with various drugs it might cause more harm than good! But maybe I’m wrong this time!

Tbh I remember some names, and some stories 🤣 I remember you saying you had really long cycles but it didn't take many cycles with either of your children, so hopefully this time it'll be the same! 🤞

I think that’s pretty wise to up the testing once you notice EWCM. That’s when I know I’m really in the fertile window! Then mine disappears quite quickly after ovulation so I know when it’s over. Yes it’s very stressful :(
also with PCOS if I’m not mistaken, LH levels can fluctuate more and read higher at other times of cycle?/be higher than average. ?

Hey everyone it looks like I’ve ovulated later when I’ve been testing my levels we dtd quite a bit during supposed fertile window - we dtd Thursday and I am ovulating today do you think this will still give us good coverage a little gutted my cycle has been delayed 🤦‍♀️ x

I didn’t know that about PCOS and Lh levels fluctuating @EmeraldPie ! I’ve only just started using Lh testing and clearly haven't done enough research, thank you for pointing that out. Just started taking myo-inositol so hopefully that will help a bit. Still absolutely no EWCM so going to assume it was a random fluctuation.

@Ash2345f Can you dtd tonight? I would if you can as the day before ovulation and the day of ovulation are the days which give you the best chance. But Thursday will definitely still give you a fair chance too. Fingers crossed for you!

Yes I remember always reading about how inconsistent it can be to measure LH with PCOS as there tends to be a generally elevated level and also with non ovulation cycles it can be difficult to detect or predict a surge! I’d definitely go by EWCM and then confirm with BBT for you x

Now in TWW as think I ovulated CD14/15…Time to distract! We dtd CD11,13,14… I’m CD16 today so might do today but my EWCM has cleared up so not sure if there’s much point??

EWCM has appeared! And LH test is up to 0.5 so fingers crossed for Lh peak tomorrow, ovulation the day after 🤞! Would be a lovely short cycle for me, only 35 days! Maybe the myo-inositol is working already.

@Glittertint I wouldn’t bother with tonight probably. It sounds like ovulation was more than 12 hours ago? Think you have it well covered!

I think so as my bbt rose slightly CD15 so makes me think it was overnight then as then it shot up more this morning! We dtd tonight just incase!!

@HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy just seen your comment on the myo-inositol - I’ve upped my dosage this month as was only 500mg before and gone to 2000mg and I think it’s helped me too!

Has anyone ever had sore boobs since ovulation? This is weird for me and hate thinking I’m already out

Just wanted to give you an update guys! I've been to my early scan today and we saw the little bean, and actually saw a strong heart activity! He measured 3.7 mms so right about where I'm at at 6+2. Obviously it's still early days, but I've been feeling quite sick and tired these last days so that's already hopeful, and with my MMC in October we never got to see a fetal pole or heart activity. Good luck to anyone still in!

delighted to hear your news. I was on jan TTC chat and remember how kind you were to everyone, so super news that your little bean is looking so strong. I’m in the TWW of cycle five of TTC post MMC, and have come back to mumsnet after a bit of a break. Lovely to see so many positive tests in this thread!

@Glittertint I think im on 4000! The packet recommend 1 tablet 4 times a day! Though my Lh levels have dropped back to 0.09 again 😢 lots of EWCM though. Really hoping ovulation happens in the next few days…

Such great news! Really pleased for you and also gives me so much hope after my MMC at a similar time to yours last year. Keep us updated. I bet it was such a joy to see today! x
