I think with twins (my DH is one and I have twin cousins as well) they have each other so don't feel so left out when the new baby comes. Are yours close Neeerly?

we've had a boys name picked out forever - we had just been talking about names before we were even married and he said he liked Christian and I said I kind of like Tristan because it's the same-ish sound, but kind of different. And it's stuck ever since! It's the girls names that I have a hard time with. I like boys names that make me think of 'the' boy in school that all the girls think is hot. I don't know for some reason, that always seems to be Noah or Zachary to me

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 12:45

oh, I've just seen the time, i have tons of work to do and I have wasted half my morning on here!!! Must go and do some work...

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 12:46

Ooooo Noah. My biggest crush in the world was called Noah. I adored him and would spend my lunch break lying on the school field watching him play football. He was a year above me. When I started 6th form, I was in what was considered the 'cool room' as it had all the computers and he was in the all the time. We became friends and dated until he went to uni!

He was soooo lush!!!

GruffaloSoldier · 13/06/2008 12:50

Ooh baby names! Well I am very bad and not even ttc yet and me and DH have them all sorted However, DH announced to me last night that if I want we can start ttc next week!

Felix is cute! I knew a LO called Felix a while back. Was adorable! Davey is sweet, certainly don't dislike it. I bet it isn't that widely used either.

lastboxoftampons · 13/06/2008 12:50

Kay You get it! I guess I automatically assume my son will be the boy in school that all the girls will have a crush on so I figured I should give him a good start

lastboxoftampons · 13/06/2008 12:53

Gruffalo great news! Are you jumping off the wagon???

What are your name choices?

Not really a fan of Davey just because it reminds me of a) Davey Jones or b) a claymation children's show in the States about a boy and his dog called Davey and Goliath - the little boy was always very polite and kind and just annoying! But obviously you don't necessarily have the same pop culture references - that's part of the reason why I'm crap at UK baby names!

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 12:58

I do get it LBOX!!!

Gruffalo thats great!!

Remind to stay away from You Tube. I am PMSL watching these videos

White and Nerdy

I'm Fat

Eat it

They are so funny!!

Neeerly3 · 13/06/2008 13:06

my boys are close at the mo yeah - always need to know where the other one is, but they couldn't be more different in personality. I am pretty confident things will be fine, but we have plans to divert meltdown if not. DH can either take over baby or boys and leave the other to me. I have promise myself i will be a lot more chilled with this one (god i hope it's one!) and not so much of a routine monster - but I think you can afford a bit of flexibility with one anyway and boys are very easy going as far as day to day routines go.

I am worrying a bit about nursery after baby is born and affording it while on mat leave etc BUT we knew all this before we started TTC so we only have ourselves to blame!

GruffaloSoldier · 13/06/2008 13:21

Emilia or Annabel for a girl, Zachary or Jonah for a boy!

Having a smear today so if all clear when I get the results back I will be officially off the wagon!!!

lixanismapolium · 13/06/2008 13:26

Hi there. WOW - onto names!!!! Have a boy name ready from last time around, but no idea about girl names.

Been spotting a bit this morning, but seems to have gone away again. I hate this!!!

How can we have so much technologically advanced stuff in our lives, yet not know whether we are pregnant or not???

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 14:25

OMG is my MN broke, or has no one posted for an hour???????

lastboxoftampons · 13/06/2008 14:30

I KNOW! Jeez! Just when I have the time to play, everyone goes away

I've cut out caffiene this month - Haven't had a latte all week. And I've found that I've been craving chocolate for the past few days

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 14:34

OK Panic over, at least if my MN is broke, your's is to!!

but not any old latte, ohhhh noooooooooo, the latte's they served while we were on our hols ooooohh 3 years ago (I think) I would pay for the whole holiday again just to go back for 10 minutes and sit with my latte! LOL

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 14:34

We've been quiet for us!

Still on names than.

Gruffalo - good news about junping off this month then. Ameila (spelt with and A) is one of my favourite names too.

Still refusing to think too hard about it though, I'ms ure I'll be one of those people that doesn't decide till the baby is actually here. Will have a short list but not a definate choice.

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 14:35

Amelia of course, can't spell

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 14:48

DS1 was decided the day I went in for induction. DS2 was decided at the 20 weeks scan, to the point where I had a few of the things in his room personalised Call it pg brain and it doesn't sound as bad! LOL

Well looks like my email worked, DH is coming home in about half an hour to take DS1 to pick it up, still not holding my breath till he has left the forecourt!

Right need to go and have a wee (surprise sur-bloody-prise) and go and get DS1 I suppose... it's raining

Starshinetiger · 13/06/2008 14:55

Playing - that was us with DS - shortlist of names, but he was born at 8.51pm on Friday night and we didn't actually 100% confirm full name until DH came back in at 10am on Sat morning to see us. My Mum was appalled (sp?) that we didn't announce his name when we rang her to say he had been born. We had no girl names though, I was sure from week 6 of pg that I was having a boy and when thinking of names we just couldn't agree on any girls names. Only girl's name we both agreed on is my first name (I'm called by my second) and that would have just seemed really self-centred even though I've never been called by my first name.
NJ - very excited about your new car.
I like all your girls names above though.

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 15:44

I think my Mum would be horrified it we had the name before birth!! Apparently I was 10 days old till I had a name.

lastboxoftampons · 13/06/2008 16:24

Playing I know what you mean. My mother doesn't even want to know the sex beforehand. She feels like there's no excitement when the baby is born if everyone already knows what it is and what its name is. Apart from the excitement of a new baby that is.

You don't always stick with the name you choose anyway - I was supposed to be Heather, but when I was born my dad came up with Farah out of the blue and they stuck with it.

lardybump · 13/06/2008 16:54

evening ladies just wanted to say hello before you all left for the day.... I am so busy at work at the moment but will be back soon.

kookykid · 13/06/2008 16:56

Just wanted to check in and say hi. Will be back later!

Rachrox · 13/06/2008 17:19

Hi all,
ooh i love looking at names...
think we've already decided on names before even starting to ttc!!
Seems the older type names are getting more common again. My youngest dd has one of the most commonest (sp? if it's even a word!) names and i so wish we chose a different name for her as every other girl is called it! ...lol...

I like the new thread title btw.

Who's due to test this wkend? Has everyone had a good friday 13th??

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 17:38

You know Rach, it hasn't even occured to me thats its Fri 13th, I've actually had a really nice day today!!

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 17:40

ARGH!!!!!!!!!

Its a bad Friday 13th for me.

Apparently the laptop is FUBAR! It has to be sent away to see if they can fix it. They said they would try and get the pictures of DS off it as we didn't get round to backing them up. Which is why I turned the bloody thing on when it broke.

Also the bloody computer is being a bit tempermentral(sp)

Hopefully all will be well tomorrow!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 18:06

Sorry bout you laptop Kay - hope they can fix it!

Right, I'm off home now and won't be back on till Monday.

Goog luck to everyone testing over the weekend.

"See" you all on Monday.
