Funny talking about baby names DH told me last night that if our baby is a boy (I'm not pg yet!) he has to be called Edward Fredrick. Made me smile, not even pg yet and he has decided on names and its looking like I may not get a say!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 12:02

I think DH would fall over himself if I even suggested Felix... I said about Jeffrey last night, and he started singing Rainbow at me....

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 12:03

My friend has a DS and a DD and her DH chose their DS's name and she hates it!!

I couldn't do that, we both have to agree or its no good.

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 12:03

Playing, he could be called Eddie Freddie!!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 12:04

PMSL Kay, I thought that as well

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 12:06

I might suggest Felix to DH when he gets home from work. Love to see his face.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 12:11

LOL we sould all do it, have cameras at the ready and post the pics LOL

I do like though!

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 12:13

I just think this one if its a boy will be 'Boy' or 'Baby' as I just can't think of anything I like.

Morgan and Jenson were on our list for boys with DS and they are the only ones I like.

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 12:17

I did think that too, I just smiled and said we'll see. I'll let him think he has a choice then subtly get him to prefer my choice, when I know what that is!!! Not that the names are actually too bad at all, I think he could come up with worse, but I am not convinced they go together although they do sound better with our surname. Anyhoo, far too early to be thinking about names for me, don't want to tempt fate.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 12:20

Kay if you are anything like us, DS2 didn't really take his name for a good couple of months, he was always 'the baby', or 'baby brother', obviously trying to get DS1's head round the fact he had a baby brother gently. We took our cue from DS1, once he started calling him something else (which actually turned out to be Baba, which has stuck) we tried to always link DS2 to being DS1's brother... does that make any sense whatsoever?

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 12:22

Yeah it does make sense. I am hoping DS will take it quite easily and not be jealous.

Someone told me to spend my entire pregnancy spoiling DS but I can't help thinking if we do that he'll be more jealous when the new baby is here.

Neeerly3 · 13/06/2008 12:24

Nat, you sure have given me lots to think on! I had to scratch a few as we already have one in family or close friends we know....

I do like Felix actually....Edward, Arthur and Felix - yup it goes.....even goes if we use, Eddy, Arfie and Felix......

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 12:26

I have always like William but unfortunately that is one name we can't use, is awful with my surname. Those who are friends with me on fb will get it, its not the name but one of the obvious shortenings

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 12:30

I think we were really lucky with DS1, maybe it was because he was that bit older, old enough to have things explained to him, but he hasn't had even a moment's of jealousy, he has just absolutely doted on DS2 since the moment he first saw him in hospital.

I think it helped a bit that with DS2 arriving in December, (rather than November when he was due!), DS1 had things going on for school (xmas parties, plays, fairs etc) and then we had family and friends visiting bringing pressies for them both, then of course xmas itself, it made that whole month absolutely chaos for us, but DS1 loved it! By the time xmas had died down, DS2 was part of us as a family, and DS1 could barely remember not having him with us.

I think this time we may see some more problems from DS2, DS1 will be fine, I've no doubts, but I think DS2 is going to be just a little too young to understand it all, he is suddenly going to be thrown in the deep end, with this baby that came out of no where.

He is quite loving towards other babies, giving them kisses and cuddles, but it is very different seeing a baby for a couple of hours, than it is having one move in with you! Who knows? He might take it all in his stride, he is no where near as sensitive as DS1 is, and he got through it!

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 12:31

Hey Nat, I've just realised you're not my friend! Will request you, I'm sure I can find you from Kays FB.

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 12:32

PMSL Playing!! You are right!!

DS is like that Nat. He loves other babies so fingers crossed!

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 12:32

Thought that might make you laugh

Nat, I've added you as a friend.

2beautifulgirls · 13/06/2008 12:33

I love the name Davey, but DH hates it, what do you lot think?

Neeerly3 · 13/06/2008 12:33

I am worried about Arthur being jealous, but I think Edward will dote on new arrival. We are going to tell them when we go to the 12 wk scan and give it chance to sink in. They will be 4 by the time he/she arrives, I think plenty old enough not to feel threatened.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 12:33

Neeerly, you just picked up on the sort of names we are looking at, some of the ones I suggested we can't use for the same reasons as you, or the initials cause problems.

I think my favourite on that list is Bertie, I really love that, but alas, BO as intials (or anything else for that matter!) isn't nice!

Spoke to DH before, he is getting mightly pissed off now at the car place.... am trying to type a very strongly worded email with out swearing, t'is hard!

Playingthewaitinggame · 13/06/2008 12:34

Sorry should have send requested you as a friend.

Always makes people laugh the William name. I mean I have a dodgy sounding surname at the best of times but with that name...

2beautifulgirls · 13/06/2008 12:36

So i went to the chemist and purchased some reveal tests, the cheapest they had, unsure on what strength that test at.
just gonna wait an hour before testing

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 12:37

Neerly DS1 was 4 (though nearly 5) he is such a senstivie little being, absolutely hates change of any kind, sticks to his own routines like glue, I did think it would knock him for six, but as I said he was absolutely fine.

Must admit Davey isn't my fav name, or by far my worst(!!!) it reminds me a bit of Only Fools and Horses with the whole Rodney/Dave thing.... if you like it though (and can win round DH!!) then go for it!

Will add you in a sec Playing

kayzisexpecting · 13/06/2008 12:37

At first I thought of that bloke who was in Star Trek and those adverts. William Shatner
Dunno why!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/06/2008 12:38

2BG, I may be wrong on this, but think they are ridiculously high, something like 50miu or maybe even 100, only off the top of my head though, have never actually seen them in the shops, just heard about them (if I am thinking of the right ones!)
