I didnt lose weight until i stopped bf dd.... I still have a stone of dd pg weight as well so can not afford to go ott.

kookykid · 17/06/2008 18:45

Glask, at wee pots!!!!

LB, I still have my positive pregnancy stick from when I found out I was expecting DD!

I'm still carrying a good bit of extra weight from my pregnancy, but figured if I'm having another one there ain't mich point in losing it all only to put it on again. (weird logic)

lardybump · 17/06/2008 18:54

Kooky glad you got the parcel today, I hope they bring you the luck they bought me and sorky.... you will have to let us know your temps etc...

JellytotZ · 17/06/2008 19:27

Hello all you m'netters! I am a 'newby'. No children of my own...as yet!Sorry for my naiveity but.... when is best time to check for pg? I am due for AF this week. Test at the ready....

lardybump · 17/06/2008 19:30

Welcome jelly what day are you due?

JellytotZ · 17/06/2008 19:49

Tomorrow! Having been on pill for 8 years I came off last October and since then I am all over the place (which does not help! and adds to my confusion!)

lardybump · 17/06/2008 19:59

Oh well then test now... or tomorrow with FMU. What tests are you using?

JellytotZ · 17/06/2008 20:02

Clearblue 2x per pack. Expensive i kno but keeps dp happy (from all my wittering!) when supply in cabinet ready for use

JellytotZ · 17/06/2008 20:02

& thankyou lardybump!

lardybump · 17/06/2008 20:05

No worries. I would test tomorrow and then come back and tell us all what the result was... Good luck

sorkycake · 17/06/2008 20:06

I don't usually weigh more than 2 stone over my normal weight just before birth so I've never had more than about 4lbs to get back to pre-pg weight, HOWEVER, I'm rather careful with what I eat when I'm pregnant.

I don't diet...I have never dieted, but I do carefully monitor what I eat to make sure it's healthy and not to excess.

I also exercise through the pregnancy too when I can.

Obv, none of this applies 'til 12 weeks when I have both appetite and energy.

With Dd I lost all the weight straightaway with bf'ing and night sweats. With the boys I lost all but 4 lbs with night sweats and bf'ing but it wasn't until I stopped bf'ing that I dropped the extra weight, and it was within the week!

I hope i'm not huge again! (bump wise), I looked like mr greedy last time

lardybump · 17/06/2008 20:15

I was mr greedy last time Sorky, as soon as I got the bfp I went mad for all the food I had forbiden before. I put on 5 stone and I still have one left to lose. I am 5 foot 7 and weigh 10 stone now so am still overweight according to my charts so I can not put on 5 stone on top of this......

Right I am going to go now so will speak to you all tomorrow.

Good luck Jelly.

Diege · 17/06/2008 20:24

Hello Jelly and good luck for tomorrow
dd2 is still wailing on and off, and is wearing me out with her night waking at the moment . I have threatened non-attendance at the school disco but of course will relent..
Weight-wise, I tend to put on no more than 22 pounds, but haven't managed to lose it all from dd3, so am starting a stone 'up'.
Sorky, any sign of sickness yet??? None here, touch wood, but waiting for it any day now!

sorkycake · 17/06/2008 20:27

you won't be getting it Diege, you're havin' a boy remember!

I can go 3 hours without eating before I feel like I'm going to faint and throw up at the same time.

If I'm not ill by the weekend I'm betting it's a boy, though I do sense a girl if that doesn't sound to weird.....or maybe he's gay I dunno

OP posts:
Diege · 17/06/2008 20:39

Ooh Sorky that's just how I'm feeling. Quite light headed if I don't eat, esp first thing, but not even at the dry wretching stage. TBH stupid as it seems I'm starting to think there may be something wrong if I don;t even have slight nausea. Can some pregnancies have none/very little if the someones always been sick before d'you think? Please remind me of this when I am havinbg regular conversation with Sir Armitage Shanks next week

sorkycake · 17/06/2008 20:41

I have to go to bed now.....zzzzzz

Bang, crash, wallop. Cosmo has fallen out of the wagon

kayzisexpecting · 17/06/2008 21:04

YAY COSMO!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats great news!!!!

I am unoffically having a girl. Jenny the lovely lady who owns the cantonese restaurant where I practically(sp) live has said so. She was right with DS and has been right with 14 of my friends. I have never known her to be wrong.

kookykid · 17/06/2008 21:08

Hi Jelly. Fingers crossed for your testing tomorrow. (I'd def wait til the morning as you don't want to mess up an expensive test!)

Hooray Cosmo! How're you feeling??

Kayz, were you hoping for a girl?

I am slogging my way through a mountain of ironing and have arm ache.

kayzisexpecting · 17/06/2008 21:14

Yes I am hoping for a girl. I will probably cry if she is wrong. I don't want to be the first one she gets wrong.

Cosmogirl · 17/06/2008 21:14

Thanks guys. Feeling really good about it. DH and I had a talk and we both feel like it is the right time - not sure why, but just feels right for us. Don't think we'll put too much pressure on ourselves, just enjoy having unprotected GOFs and see what happens I guess. Exciting!

Kayz- that is exciting about the prediction - will you be finding out the sex at 20 weeks or are you going to wait until the birth?

happynappies · 17/06/2008 21:15

Hi and welcome Jelly - hope its good news tomorrow! Hi to the other new recruits too!

LB are you me? I am the same height and weight!! I put on four and a half stone last time, but am hoping to keep up exercise this time - although I remain convinced that with dd it was mostly fluid! When she was born it was like a tidal wave, and my lovely new changing bag got rather drenched!

hope everyone is ok today

kayzisexpecting · 17/06/2008 21:18

Yes we will be finding out Cosmo. Its strange really as I always said before I got pregnant with DS that I didn't want to know the sex. But when I was actually pregnant I was desperate to know.

Also I always said I didn't mind what sex we had but when I was expecting DS I really really wanted a boy and I was so scared it would be a girl. I'm slightly thinking the same this time round. I think its another reason to find out the sex because if you do feel like I did, it gives you about another 20 weeks to come to terms with it.

Cosmogirl · 17/06/2008 21:24

I think I'd have to know too - curiousity would get the better of me! I think having a gender preference or a 'feeling' re: the sex of the baby is quite common, so by finding out, you can emotionally prepare for your son or daughter.

Diege · 17/06/2008 21:25

Wow COSMO that's great news!! . So where are you in your cycle??
Kayz, I think you're right about how finding out sex at scan gives you to 'adjust' if it's not what you were expecting. I would love to find out at mine (did with dds 1&2)but dh wants a 'surprise' so will have to resist! Was half thinking of doing what my friend did and asking the sonographer to write down the sex in a sealed envelope. She then had the incredibly difficult task of keeping it from dh (she looked)...hmm, maybe not a good one that after all!
Right, Im off to do the packed lunches then up to bed. Speak tomorrow
