wow, now you don't hear a story like that very often!

glaskham · 16/06/2008 14:49

oh i hate stories like that as they make me think it could happen to me.... but i've had 2 normal pregnancies before, both showing as BFP's so surely it would be the same again?

kayzisexpecting · 16/06/2008 14:50

I know I couldn't believe it. They just kept telling her to test every 2 weeks and when they kept coming back as BFN's they just said her AF had gone haywire and to come back in 6 months if it hadn't come back.

She made a really big fuss and complaint about it. Luckily she had thought she was pregnant as she had morning sickness so she didn't drink or eat anything you aren't meant to.

glaskham · 16/06/2008 14:51

sounds like the GP should have maybe done a blood test for her or something...

Playingthewaitinggame · 16/06/2008 14:51

Yeah but imagine the worry it must have caused her. Thats nealr 5 months of not knowing for certain!

Diege · 16/06/2008 14:53

Wow, what a story Kayz! And glad your appointment went well - must be very reassuring to hear the heartbeat .

Playing, (or anyone else for that matter!) I have about 6 pregnancy tests (e-bay cheapies) left that I refuse to wee on (I'm stopping myself from getting into the whole 'is the line getting darker') thing as that way madness lies..(for me at least!). So, I'm happy to send them to whoever wants them for when the time comes - they were a very lucky batch for me! If you do, my e-mail is [email protected]
Now I must get some work done, instead of wandering around the kitchen with my top button undone picking at unhealthy things!

Ses15 · 16/06/2008 14:54

NJ - thanks for encouraging story. I guess there is still hope but such a small area that appeared on the scan really doesn't fit and I've had no spotting / bleeding and there was definitely no heartbeat when they scanned.

On top of all this I've just had an email from my boss asking for a response on why my store is overspending on it's salary budget by close of play tomorrow!! a) he knows I'm meant to be on annual leave this week and b) he knows ('cos he wouldn't put up with vague info and asked) exactly what is happening with me and the miscarriage(s) at the moment and that this isn't really a "fun" week off for me! I have composed what I think is a suitabl reply! I'm planning on seeing my GP tomorrow and am now sorely tempted to ask her for a drs note for this week so I can take a decent week off at another time!

Playingthewaitinggame · 16/06/2008 14:58

OOO Deige, tests. Hmm do I want any?? They might be dangerous to have hanging round. I havent bought any yet and was planning not to buy any till I was late. But that would save some money btu could also lead to insanity. Umm...

Ses - your boss is out of order. I would ask for a drs not if I were you.

kayzisexpecting · 16/06/2008 15:04

Thats what she asked for Glask. After about 10 weeks of BFN's she asked for a blood test and they said she could have one after 6 months.

Diege · 16/06/2008 15:29

. Come and get your lovely te-ests!!!!
SES, def get a dr's note - what a horrible boss

lastboxoftampons · 16/06/2008 15:41

Dangerous offer of tests!!!!! don't do it Playing - remember the mantra - You cannot pee on that which you do not have!!!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 16/06/2008 15:44

I know LBOT! Thats why I don't have any, I really want to try not to obsess. I know I wont believe a negative if I am testing early. So I figure I'm safer waiting till AF is 1 day late and not wasting my money. I am also planning to buy them when I need them! But free tests....

Ses15 · 16/06/2008 15:47

He's only been my boss since the beginning of April as we had a restructure. 2 weeks in, I had the first mmc and he was fine - even sent me flowers from his office. Maybe he's just had enough this time, I know I have!

Really frustrated tho as the email threatens disciplinary action if I don't sort it but I've already shown him my plan and queried 2 bits of the allocated budget that don't seem enough!

Anyway, I've sent an email back expressing my suprise at being contacted whilst on annual leave, "especially when he knows my emotional and physical distress at this time". I've outlined my plan - as best I can from home - and asked him for answers to my queries again!

Tbh, he probably forgot I'd booked the week off and as I hadn't phoned in sick this morning assumed I was in the business!

Anyway, I must stop boring you all with my depressing tales and get back to something more positive!

kayzisexpecting · 16/06/2008 15:49

Get them Playing and get Dh to lock them away or take them to work with him so you can't use them until you are late.

Ses, your boss sounds horrible!

Playingthewaitinggame · 16/06/2008 15:51

Ses, he does sound like an idiot to me, I mean my boss would never mention disciplinary action even when I've screwed up. Feel free to be as negative as you want, it helps to get it all out!!

Ses15 · 16/06/2008 15:55

Thanks guys!! I personally think he just can't keep on top of everything and probably forgot I'd got the week off and forgot that I'd asked him those queries and forgot that I'd shown him my plan! It'll be interesting to see if I hear back from him!

It really didn't come at a good time either as I think I'd manage to box away everything that was happening over the weekend and then going to the EPU again this morning got me a bit upset so his timing really couldn't have been worse!

Had a chat with a couple of friends over the phone earlier which helped and have a nice long(ish) dog walk planned for tomorrow morning. Me and DH have 2 cocker spaniels and my friend has a 4 month old black lab so we could be in for a fun morning!

Playingthewaitinggame · 16/06/2008 16:01

Right Deige I am going to decline your lovely offer. Thinking about it, on balance having tests in the house will drive me nuts. Giving them to Dh won't work either as TBH I think he would want me to test with them too. I'm staying strong for now. Give me a few months of ttcing without any luck and I will be peeing on anything but I am enjoying the calm of being relaxed about ttcing right now. Its still rather new and exciting right now!

glaskham · 16/06/2008 16:07

oh playing, your such a sensible, level headed woman!!!

i just had the most scrummy late lunch (as in had a big breakfast and eaten now as DH isn't home till 9pm for tea) I had the same as the kids are munching for their tea.... toasted potato cakes, with a sauce made from chopped sausages a tin of chopped tomatoes, with a little sprinkle of cheese on top!!! very very scrummy.... thought it'd be horrid, was going to do it with pasta but DS wanted potato cakes!!

Diege · 16/06/2008 16:07

ooh I admire you strength Playing . Anyone else???, or shall we put them into wagon storage until Playing relents is ready??

glaskham · 16/06/2008 16:10

depending on how this cycle goes and if no-one else wants them i may take them off your hands....

Diege · 16/06/2008 16:23

Just give me a shout (e-mail addy further down page)

glaskham · 16/06/2008 16:34

Diege · 16/06/2008 17:04

glaskham · 16/06/2008 17:05

and replied back too!!!

are we the only ones on here atm?

lardybump · 16/06/2008 17:05

Hello everyone... I am still up the duff . I called GP this morning and told him I had a BFP and that I need a check in appointment. He has booked me in for 3 weeks time and he will then do an internal scan . It seems that because they do not do the 12 week scan in our area our GP surgery has bought a scanner and does its own dating scans at the booking appointments... I love my surgery they are so good. Last time I had to pay for a 12 week scan because i couldnt wait until 20 weeks.....
