very quick post!!

NJ - thsi is exactly what I have been getting. BH do start at around 6 weeks but it is very unusual to feel them then (but I swear that is what it is!!). Anyhow, my urine sample showed signs of infection and MW said to drink lots to flush it out, before prescribing anti-b's. I have been drinkinglike a fiend.

Apparently UTI can irritate the uterus, causing these cramps. Mine's got worse before it got better, but they have settled down. I am drinking about 2 2litre bottles of fizzy water a day!!

where is LL? She was going to be testing this morning - who else?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/05/2008 10:26

I already drink about 2-2.5 litres of water a day, especially during pregnancy because my kidneys play up. And it helps with the god awful heartburn.

LL doesn't normally check in before tea time, but hoping she puts in an appearance sooner today!

Teuch · 20/05/2008 10:29

MW did also say that if I turned up at EPU, with MC history and reporting BH's, they would not turn me away. She said this was no cause for alarm as not sinister in itself, but just because it is 'out of the ordinary'...

I know you don't have easy access to EPU, but I think it would put your mind at ease for now.

Get some cranberry juice for now, and phone practice to ask if you can drop in a urine sample (they only need a dip test thing).

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/05/2008 10:37

Not as simple as that, would have to get DH home to drop the sample in! God I wish I could drive that sodding car that is sat on our drive doing nothing!!! Grrr!!

I am OK, not too worried, as I said no bleeding or anything, I'm not very prone to UTI's, only ever had one before, but obviously each pregnancy is different... Will keep going with the water until it either get's worse, or whatever.

Bit of a change of subject, but how the hell do you stop little boys putting their hand in their nappy, pointing their willy up and then weeing? is 17 months too early to start toilet training? LOL

glaskham · 20/05/2008 10:55

will catch up later but just wanted to pop on and inform you all it was a BFN, AF came this morning!! I'm ok, feel silly for convincing myself i was pregnant, but hey ho- roll on OV!!!

Teuch · 20/05/2008 10:58

Ach, Glaskham that's disappointing - moreso because there are other people involved. Glad you sound upbeat, though.

NJ - vests with poppers! The only solution...

Squack · 20/05/2008 11:04

Aw Glaskham, sorry to hear that. Lots of wine and choc for you.

Will you try again this month?

Cals fill the kitchen sink with water (mini-bath) and sit him in it with cups to fill and pour. That should fill an hour.

Build towers of blocks to knock over usually can fill an hour too.

Peek-a-boo with the curtains is also a time-waster.

tinkstryingtochill · 20/05/2008 11:40

busy bees ladies buzzzzzzzzzzz

Moosma · 20/05/2008 12:19

Sorry about AF Glaskham, you don't sound too down about it which is good, how are your friends?

Hope you're coping OK Cals, what have you two done so far this morning?

I've done the hoovering and the 2nd load of washing is on, about to get some lunch, then it's off to the swings for us (aaah, fresh air and some distance between me and the DDs!).

EsmeWeatherwax · 20/05/2008 13:24

Hello there, just got into work so thats me -on- -mumsnet- busy for the afternoon. AF arrived in all her full on glory today, currently very much making her presence felt. Just want to go home and lie in a bath of chocolate for the rest of the day...

Sorry she got you too Glaskham!
Teuch, where do you stay? Are you in the islands somewhere? Am off to Barra in the summer, can't wait!

Cals, I'm no help with entertaining kids ideas, but hope you're both feeling better soon!

happynappies · 20/05/2008 13:30

Sorry to hear about AF Glaskham, and Esme - I think I'll be joining you soon. Roll on next month, glad to hear people upbeat and looking forwards!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/05/2008 13:33

Glaskham, echoing everyone else really

Teuch, have him in a poppered vest, and trousers, and he still manages to get his hand in the side, what is it with little boys and their willies? Mind you, most blokes are as bad...!

BB, still have my fingers tightly crossed.

Esme, same to you really re. period Bath of choc sounds v. good though

calsworld · 20/05/2008 14:30

Hi everyone, thanks for efforts! We've had a nap for about 1hr 45 which used up a lot of time. My DS is difficult by all your standards! I built the tent, he sat in it for five minutes and is now ignoring it.

Brick towers do not occupy him, he thinks I'm mad, sink full of water would be a BAD idea as it would just end up all over the floor - he's been having swimming lessons since he was four months old so has spent a lot of time in the water.

Not tried playdough - bit scared of the carpet trashing potential of that but may give it a go....will have to find a recipe for it though

CBeebies hasn't done too bad a job so far. Pots and pans haven't cut it - he's in a throwing bashing kind of mood so I just end up injured.

Christ - roll on him going back to nursery

kayzisexpecting · 20/05/2008 14:31

Sorry about AF Glaskham and Esme!

Moos, Work know so I'm not allowed to lift anything. I'm allowed to have extra breaks but I don't like taking them.

Work wasn't too bad. It was really quiet today so I was actually really bored. Its horrible there, it's either really busy or really quiet.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/05/2008 14:34
Sad
kayzisexpecting · 20/05/2008 14:39

Whats wrong Nat?

calsworld · 20/05/2008 14:42

Aha, storymakers saves the day! This is day six of being cooped up by the way, so am probably not doing as bad as it feels like I am.

Forgot to mention, tried brick building and it worked for about ten minutes, he even started gathering the bricks back up after sending them flying everywhere! I call that a success!

calsworld · 20/05/2008 14:43

NJ, you OK, or just sad at me wishing him to nursery or sad for Kays day??

Teuch · 20/05/2008 14:44

NJ? You okay?

calsworld · 20/05/2008 14:54

HHHHHHOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKKK NJ you can't do a sad face then disappear, are you OK?

kayzisexpecting · 20/05/2008 14:55

Cal is right. You can't do a sad face and then go.

lardylumps · 20/05/2008 15:10

Sorry to keep you waiting ladies. Didn't need to test this morning as AF arrived in the night. Sneaky cow that she is.

I took dd out for the day though and feel ok about it this month. We are going to get some ov sticks this month so if anyone can recomend any that would be great.
