Oh that's it times up!

Hope you all have a good night, enjoy the food Cal (will catch up properly at some point...! Chin up for now though sweetie, or at least grump with style OK?!! )

G'night xxx

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 19:47

I'm trying to persuade DS he wants to go to bed. There is nothing on the tv so I've put on his kids programs. I just don't know if he'll go without screaming.

I've been so tired this last week. I think I'd rather be grumpy than tired.

Teuch · 19/05/2008 19:51

crispy shredded beef, chicken and cashew nuts, beef with spring onion & ginger, fried rice, prawn crackers, sesame prawn toast and that should keep me going until I have time to really think

Oh, I live sooooooo far away from decent chinese...

However, now I ahve a scan in two weeks, so I will be in chinese vicinity

Teuch · 19/05/2008 19:52

Oh - and apparently the advice is not to avoid nuts now .

lardylumps · 19/05/2008 19:54

I know I cant believe it. Do you know when is a good time to introduce nuts into dd diet when I avoided them throughout pg and since?

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 19:56

My MW said you still have to avoid nuts.

LL you can give her peanut butter but she cant have nuts until she is 5 because she could choke. Thats what they say anyway.

Teuch · 19/05/2008 19:58

I gave DS peanut butter twice when we were on mainland - twice because it is the subsequent times that they react, and on the mainland so we were close to emergency services .

I've not been avoiding peanuts - I have peanut butter on toast every morning.

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 20:00

This might sound stupid but I don't want to give him nuts. I'm terrified that he could be allergic. My friend from school is alleric to nuts and I saw him once after he had had something with nuts in. It was so scary.

lardylumps · 19/05/2008 20:00

They change the rules so much.

lardylumps · 19/05/2008 20:01

Right I am off but will speak to you tomorrow.

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 20:02

I know its stupid. Though they say only to avoid nuts if one of the parents has Asthma or Hayfever. DH has hayfever so I avoided them. Well most of the time. Sometimes I just wanted some peanuts.

I know that at xmas this year I am going to eat loads of peanuts.

Teuch · 19/05/2008 20:04

I needed to know about any allergy - so that I didn't take risks out here in the sticks!!

Sever allergy is incredibly rare, but much safer to know.

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 20:07

I think I'll try him with some peanut butter soon. It is better to know ASAP really so you know.

He has had crusts of DH's toast that has had peanut butter on it but not on the piece he was given.

calsworld · 19/05/2008 20:16

I am allergic to

house dustmite
dust (it makes my hands itch)
feathers
cats
dogs (except for mine )
horses
rabbits
and most other things with fur

if i laugh too much when drinking white wine I have a asthma attack - is that an allergy

the following in a RAW state,
carrots, potatoes, peppers, radishes, parsnip, swede, apples, peaches, pears, plums, kiwi (this is called oral allergy syndrome) but can eat them if its cooked,

and lets not forget pollen; grass pollen, flower pollen, tree pollen....all year round - its called perrennial rhinitis.

I also have funny reactions to products - Dove is particularly bad for my skin, some make up makes my eyes very sore, fizz bombs in baths make me itch - problem is, I never know what it is that I respond to so I just stick to what I know I don't react to.

I spent most of my childhood swearing that I would never have children coz I wouldn't want them to go through what I did - constantly in and out of hospital for treatments and all the teasing was very very hard to live with.

So to sum it up, I have eczema, asthma, hayfever and have developed oral allergy syndrome in the last ten years, so tend to be a bit over cautious when it comes to DS. I did offer him peanut butter but he spat it out! All that worrying and he doesn't even like it!!

I love it with strawberry jam and with chicken (they are two separate dishes btw).

I'm rambling arent' I.....

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 20:20

OMG Cal, that must be horrible. I'm allergic to bananas but not badly they just make me feel very sick.

calsworld · 19/05/2008 20:24

Kay - Bananas are my safe haven!! Great in a sandwich, with banana, with curry mmmmmmmm

Squack · 19/05/2008 20:24

I'm allergic to water! My skin itches and breaks out in hives everytime I wash.

Also;
all animal fur (have 2 cats & a dog)
dustmites (serious one)
pollen

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 21:32

I put DS to bed when I had posted this. He went straight to sleep and I haven't heard a peep out of him like I had expected.

I do feel a bit lost now though.

Diege · 19/05/2008 22:26

A late night hello! And goodnight..will try and keep up tomorrow, though may be Thursday before I can post! Sleep well, diege xxx

Starshinetiger · 19/05/2008 22:39

A late night hello and goodnight from me too - don't think anyone else is around, so I'm browsing "Last 15 minutes", although should really be in bed. Wishing you all a good night's sleep. Star

Moosma · 19/05/2008 23:27

Evening (although I think you've all gone now), I've been doing our accounts since 9pm and have only just finished, so I'm having a break before my wifely duties

I'm allergic to:

Pollen - most sorts
Tomatoes (unless they're very cooked/processed)
Dust mites
Water (same as Squack)
Orange juice
Most fruit that isn't overripe, but in particular:
bananas
oranges
plums
grapes

My throat is itching now from hayfever

G'night

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/05/2008 07:01

Morning

OMG at you lot with your lists of allergies I don't think I am allergic to anything, Kiora squash makes my belly hurt, but think that is more the strength of it, than an allergy to it, but that is as close to an allergy as I get (and it isn't hard to avoid!)

Awww DS2 looks like a proper little boy now with his hair cut I went in to get him from his room and he looked soooo different, how can he be a big brother? He is too little to be a big anything LOL Bless him!

DS1 has a school trip today, to a farm park place, so it is all excitment and talk of feeding lambs and playing on the park there. It is his first school trip, so I am sat in the corner with my hands over my ears till I know he is safely back home!

Spose I'd better go and get ready.... Oh BTW, I haven't been avoiding nuts, but I am not a big eater of them any way (AFAIK the only nuts I have had are the nuts on top of choc 'n' nut cornettos, but am sure other things I have had have nut traces and oils etc.) DS1 doesn't like them, and DS2 has had the odd little bit, but neither seems allergic or intent on eating them.

I don't get the choking thing, they can choke on anything, are we not supposed to feed them till they are 5?!! LOL

I am going to get a shower now...!

kayzisexpecting · 20/05/2008 07:25

Morning,

I was awake at quarter to 6, it was horrible. Our blackout blind blacks out jackshit nothing.

Plus I have to go to work today and I just don't have the energy. I'm doing 9-1 then DH goes to work at half 2 until 11.

Hope everyone is ok.

kayzisexpecting · 20/05/2008 07:27

Oh and I forgot. I have RED NEW stretchmarks!!!! I am going to be covering myself in body cream stuff to try and stop getting so many of them!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/05/2008 07:46

I beat you Kay, DS2 stood up in his cot, and then fell over, cue screaming the house down at 5.15 Good job I am kind of getting used to this zombified feeling!

Got serious cramping today, don't know if it a good sign, or bad
