Does anyone have experience of this? Hubby has just had it done and we are nervously awaiting the outcome!

hi all, sorry your AFs have started, pink and terrier

terrier, i'm due today i think ( according to fertility friend ) but nothing has shown up so far. That's if i'm on a 26 day cycle this month because it may be Thurs if I'm back to 28 days !! V. confusing !!

Haven't got any cramps or anything yet though so I'm guessing Thurs ?

terrier141 · 05/08/2008 12:58

Well dont know whats going on now - thought AF had arrived last night - there was a little bit - but now nothing!

OP posts:
welshlinz · 05/08/2008 14:01

terrier, have u tested ?? could be implantation spotting !

pinkmook · 06/08/2008 08:48

Has AF turned up terrier? How about you welshlinz?

terrier141 · 06/08/2008 08:53

AF turned up this morning with avengence!! Nasty little bugger!

How about you 2??

OP posts:
pinkmook · 06/08/2008 09:03

never mind terrier, another chance this month.

I am on day 2 of AF (had about 5 days of spotting - think I will have to ask the consultant about this when I go back at the end of August).

Did your DH take his sperm sample in yet?

pinkmook · 06/08/2008 09:04

OOh I just realised we all seem to be synchronizing in our cycles - we will be on the 2WW together this month!

welshlinz · 06/08/2008 10:26

hi girls, yes it seems we are all synchronised this month lol !! Mine started last night so I must be working on a 26 day cycle.

How mad is that? We are all going to be waiting together this month !!

pinkmook · 06/08/2008 10:42

Ha ha! I have a a dead on 28 day cycle with ov on day 14 - first time ever!

LOL this is just very funny! I am ridiculously excited for us all!

terrier141 · 06/08/2008 22:03

Thats very weird - I have heard of women who are really close synchronising their cycles over time - but we havent even met! lol!

No my dh has not done his sample yet - and I have just read on another post that he needs to abstain for 3 days prior?? Did you get told this?

OP posts:
pinkmook · 07/08/2008 09:37

Hi Terrier - yeah your DH will have to abstain from any method of ejaculation for 3 days. we were told no more than 3 days though as that can affect it adversly as much as too much ejaculating!! What a loevly topic for a thursday morining LOL

terrier141 · 08/08/2008 09:07

Good job I found out then cos he wasnt told this - our gp is officially crap!!

OP posts:
pinkmook · 08/08/2008 15:02

LOL yep our GP didn't tell us either - I knew it from looking on here and googling it. When we saw the consultant we got a sheet that told us this though.

MY GP told me pregnancy tests work from ovulation and that DH's sperm results were "a little low but fine, low side of normal" when actually they were very very far below the world health organisation guidelines on "normal" - good job I insisted on having a copy of the results second time he had them done or we wouldn't have known and started doing stuff to try and improve DH's general health!

welshlinz · 10/08/2008 12:45

hi all, just an update for you.
DH has been suffering from bad pains and the other night he passed a LOT of blood in his semen
Went to the GP who said he's got a massive infection and is now taking really strong antibiotics.
Can any more go wrong with this op ?!!

pinkmook · 10/08/2008 13:21

Oh Linz - sorry to hear that. Hope your DH is feeling better. My DH ended up having antibiotics after his op as he suffered quite bad pains but didn't pass any blood. Try not to worry too much - just because this has happened doesn't mean it wont "work" IYSWIM.

(((linz)))

welshlinz · 10/08/2008 19:43

thanks pink. the doc says neither the blood clot or the infection will make any difference to the op but can't help thinking that it hasn't worked now !! Oh well, we'll see what happens. This is the 1st month we're going to ttc so fingers crossed x

terrier141 · 11/08/2008 08:32

Sorry to hear that linz - feel really sorry for your dh - he must be in agony poor thing!
Sounds like my dh got off very lightly! xx

OP posts:
pinkmook · 11/08/2008 16:21

you're bound to feel like its some kind of "omen" but really its not. Fingers crossed for your TTC'ing this month.

welshlinz · 11/08/2008 21:35

Thanks all x DH is not really much better so has to go back tomorrow to see if he's improving or whether further tests are needed !! I'm probably thinking we won't bother ttc this month as I don't want him to feel any pressure on top of being so poorly Will just see how it goes x Anyway, how's things with everyone ?? All ready for the month of bonking ahead ?

pinkmook · 13/08/2008 09:33

Hi Linz - maybe he will start to feel better in time for this month? If not, you will both be even more up for it by next month hopefully so its all good

We started bonking last night (CD8) starting early this month! just hope I dont get a really long cycle now and run out of steam before ov

welshlinz · 13/08/2008 21:06

lol pink, we had a go last night too but can't help worrying that if DH has got an infection, is there any chance he could pass it on to me ??

Phoned the consultant yesterday anyway and said I wasn't very happy as he hasn't seen DH once since the op despite all these problems so he's fitted him in tomorrow Just feel I need him to say everything is ok to put my mind at rest.

Terrier, has your hubby put his sample in yet ??

terrier141 · 14/08/2008 11:39

Hi both,
Linz - lets hope the consultant comes up with some encouraging news - sounds like your dh is having a really bad time - poor thing - stressful for you too!
No - my dh hasnt got around to putting sample in yet - Im not that stressed about it at the mo to be honest - the pup is keeping me very busy, and with 4 kids here most of the time im not getting chamce to think about it!

Okay - I need your advice - Im on cd9 today - yesterday I was spotting and today Im bleeding enough for a tampon - what the hell is going on do you think??

Pink - go for it!! xx

OP posts:
welshlinz · 14/08/2008 16:45

terrier, I have no idea what's going on with that sorry x does your AF usually last this long ?

Went to see the consultant today who said the infection is alot better and the blood clot has gone done 50%. He was pleased with everything and said none of these things will affect the chances of the op being successful so HOORAY !!

DH has been given his pot for the first semen analysis so it needs to be done on Tuesday. I've worked out that if we need to abstain for 3 days prior I think I'm going to miss my ov days this month so guess ttc will have to wait till next month !! So frustrating !!! (((stamps feet like spoilt child))))

pinkmook · 15/08/2008 08:39

Terrier - no advice except to say from personal experience, experience of friends and reading millions of threads on here and other places....when you start TTC a lot of peoples cycles go wacky. Just out of my 4 of my friends who started TTC in the last couple of years all of us have ad 12 months of strange cycles before settling down.

How long have you been TTC now? about 3 months or so? It's still early days yet so try not to worry too much - if things still strange in a few months do like I did and get referred. I know its easier said than done though! Believe me 12 months on I am getting a bit sick of TTC!

terrier141 · 15/08/2008 08:42

Linz- no my af has definately finished and has never lasted that long - its stopped again now - bizarre!
Bet you are really frustrated! Still you could always try Tues night - you might still catch it as the egg can survive 24-48hrs apparently - when do you expect to ovulate?

Pink - hows the shagging going? lol!
