Does anyone have experience of this? Hubby has just had it done and we are nervously awaiting the outcome!

terrier, not that great on when I'm meant to be ovulating really but thought it was Monday ? Does this sound about right for when you are both due aswell seeing as we are all on near enough the same cycle this month ?

terrier141 · 16/08/2008 08:52

Linz- going off what my Persona monitor has said for the last 2 months - I ov'd on cd15 (1st month) and cd14 - so Im guessing it should be Tues or Wed for me - you could just about do it if your cycle is similar!

Anyway, I bled again this morning, but seems to have settled now - seems to occur during sex - so could be cervic erosion as i have had this before (and numerous embarrassing procedures to deal with it!), but not recently.

Did either of you register for the free Clearblue test thing? I got mine yesterday - very posh - just need an occassion to use it now!

OP posts:
welshlinz · 16/08/2008 09:28

hi terrier, yes I registered but think it was possibly too late as I haven't received anything as of yet x

Hopefully I may be on a similar ovulation date to you then. If it was Wednesday we would stand a better chance this month. Guess we'll just have to wait and see now

pinkmook · 16/08/2008 17:23

Hi Girls - ov due Monday if I ov on day 14 but convinced I will not ov then as my CM pattern isn't pointing to it (TMI I know!) maybe Tuesday Wednesday but you never can tell with my cycles!

I got my clearblue test but not excited about sing it as I know it'll be a BFN My bloody consultant has just sent me a note saying my appointment is cancelled until November!!!! Can't believe it!

Hope you guys are OK

terrier141 · 17/08/2008 13:48

pink - thats so bloody frustrating for you - I bet you are really fed up. Did they even attempt giving you an excuse??
As for the freebie test - Im not even gonna look at mine unless im late. Not sure theres a point to the "conception" thingy either!

OP posts:
pinkmook · 18/08/2008 16:30

yep terrier - V frustrating - they just said circs beyond their control

On the plus side though I was worried because when I went for my initial appointment they told me to do (the standard) day 2/3 and day 21 blood tests but sent me away with only the forms for day 2/3 test so have just rung up and explained that I thought the two had to be compared against each other and was now worried that after this huge delay I would get to app and they wouldn't be able to tell me anything...so the upshot is they are sending me forms for both blood tests through the post so I can do them before my new app in November! Trying to see the positives in this delay

Haven't ov'd today - wonder when it will be

you all ok?

terrier141 · 18/08/2008 19:19

Hi both - My Persona had the egg symbol today - so I guess I will ov tomorrow - anyway will bd in preparation!

Do you mind me having a moan about my ex husband?? You can let me no later if its bored you! lol!

Anyway he is the father of my 2 DC's and I havent had a penny off him since we split up 5 years ago (he actually left me with £7000 of debt that I am still paying). Now HE has started a new job and HE has contacted the CSA and asked them to calculate how much maintainence he should be paying. They have asked me for details etc. However on Saturday I have a text from his mum asking if I will accept £5 per week (yes thats right - a whole £2.50 each!!). I have of course declined as I feel it is an insult - but he has responded by saying that he will therefore give up his job!
He does live with 4 children (3 stepkids and 1 biological) and the CSA disregard a % of his income to allow for this - so I really cant see his problem. Obviously if the CSA calculated a huge amount I might consider meeting him have way (then again I might not - as hes always as deliberately awkward with me as he can be!)
What a wanker!!

Sorry girls - rant over - feel better now I got that off my chest!!
xx

welshlinz · 18/08/2008 21:36

hi all,

terrier, I can't believe he's offered you a mere £5.00 !! What a cheek ! It seems to be the norm now for alot of men to just give up the job instead of paying the CSA but confused as to why he decided to contact them in the first place ??

anyway, sorry to hear you appointment was cancelled, pink, but glad you're trying to look on the bright side xx

I have no idea when I'm meant to be ovulating cos for some bizarre reason I seem to be showing no signs whatsoever so mega confused. Oh well, DH is doing his sample on Wed so we have been abstaining since yesterday. I have told him we are definately BD wednesday evening to be in with a very slim chance of catching my ov this month. If I ovulated tomorrow ( Tues ), would we miss it by Wed night ??

Rossco · 19/08/2008 11:54

I asked my dh if he was sure too. He said yes but asked if I was. I said not really but he just gave me ahug and said I'd get over it.

I have tried to get over it for 2 years! I know I'm being stupid and that we have 4 dc but I would love to have the option of another.

Good luck to all those ttc after a vas reversal.

welshlinz · 21/08/2008 15:35

thanks rossco, I know exactly what you mean about the option of having any more children being taken away from you and that's really hard to deal with x
Possibly you could get your DH to consider a reversal ???

welshlinz · 23/08/2008 11:37

ok, pink and terrier, where are you both hiding ?? lol

Had stomach cramps like period pains last night. Was imagining all sorts Isn't it weird how you notice every little thing your body is doing when your ttc ?!! I'm becoming a nightmare for it !

Just anxiously waiting for DH's results to come back so I'm crossing all my fingers it's good news

How are you both getting on with everything ?

terrier141 · 23/08/2008 17:30

Hi - I know what you mean - you notice every little ache, pain, twinge etc etc!!

Not much going on here - not too hopeful as dh has been working loads (too much) and has been too tired half the time!!

Hello everyone

It's interesting to read all these messages - though I don't understand your arcane code exactly, I'm going to use plain english! My honey had the snip 6 yrs ago with his ex-wife after they'd had 2 kids, having decided that they didn't want any more. But then she came home pregnant by the neighbour - he's a sweetie so said he would raise it as his own. Then she moved in another boyfriend into his house, and he was still a sweetie... finally she just left, after getting my honey to buy them a house and a car... but this isn't about her, it's about my honey's snip [sorry, I get carried away]. We've been together 4 years and last Christmas he said he wanted to have a baby with me - much to my surprise - but I realised I was actually into the idea, so he got himself repaired (8th May) and a couple of weeks ago did his first sample. The consultant I'm seeing is a really poor communicator and so I don't really know what it all means, but he has 20% motility and 10% normal forms. I saw the WHO guidelines that you posted and he's not terribly below them... He also said that his sample looked a bit'rusty' - like there was old blood in it. ALSO, I am on medication which causes elevated prolactin hormone, which makes my body think I am breastfeeding, so I am not ovulating, haven't since Christmas. ALSO, I am 39 in October.

I didn't realise it would be this difficult - I'd already chosen names!

welshlinz · 26/08/2008 15:25

Hi StephanieM, guess you've read the thread so know basically where we're all at but hubby had his reversed on the 11th July and we are now awaiting his 1st sample results.

pinkmook · 27/08/2008 11:54

Hi Girls - CD 23 and still no ov thats why Ive been MIA waiting to bloody ov!

Stephanie - Not arcane at all - see the top of the page, next to heading "useful stuff", acronym list. Your DH sperm results sound quite good for a first sample, good luck!

welshlinz · 27/08/2008 12:17

hey pink, great to see you back

I'm 8 dpo now and suffering really bad with thrush ( sorry if TMI ) so nothing has been happening in the bedroom dept since ov day.

Pretty sure I missed it cos I think I ov'd on the Tuesday and we BD on the Wednesday evening BUT.... can't help imagining symptoms. Have been getting stomach cramps the last few days and constantly feeling sick. I know it's probably the thrush really but can't help putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5

shm · 27/08/2008 15:02

Hi all

[Stephanie here, new nickname]

Thanks for the positive feedback. I wish the bloody doctor had told me that the results were good for a first sample!

He's been requested to do another sample next week. And I have been given these drugs to make me have a fake period, after which they will xray my plumbing. gaaaah...

pinkmook · 28/08/2008 14:39

welshlinz - I have everything crossed for you! No its never TMI on mumsnet!

FF finally gave me my crosshairs and I supposedly ov'd on day21. I am not convinced I have ov'd though as I always get really sore boobs and nipples from day of ov.And this month - nada. I read a thread here where people were saying FF got their ov day wrong and I agree, I dont think its that accurate. So we have stopped bonking now but I am constantly worrying in case FF got it wrong but we cant keep bonking since we have done it every day since day 10!! and both of us are now ill with a head cold and throat infection and the last thing on the planet I wanna do right now is bonk So thats me probably out for this month.

shm (artist formerly known as StephanieM! ) - good luck with the tests. I had a HYCOSY scan a few weeks ago is that what you are having?

Terrier where are you?

terrier141 · 28/08/2008 19:22

Hi girls - and welcome shm to our completely obsessed thread.

I havent been on here much lately - tbh I have been really busy with the kids - back to school next week though - so peace at last!

I have found that this month (and last) I havent been anywhere near as obsessed about ttc and symptom spotting. Dont know whether its because the kids and puppy have kept me so busy - or because i cant cope with the devestation each month when AF arrives.

I have got myself a part time job in local garage in the eves and weekends now - as I am starting to worry about xmas already (I know what your thinking - but I have 4 to buy for!!).

Can I really afford another??!!!!!

Hi all

I don't know what the dye thing is called (my consultant explains nothing!) but after googling 'hycosy' I guess that's what it is. [also found pm's thread about it here]. I guess it is a step on the way to IVF? I think it is too soon for us to resign ourselves to having to do that, as he only got unsnipped in May.

I was meant to take the medication to bring on the period about now, but I've decided to wait until the end of September to get into all that - I'm madly trying to finish my thesis for 30 Sept.

good luck everyone.

welshlinz · 30/08/2008 11:22

hi all, thought I'd check in

pink - sorry to hear you're suffering at the mo with a cold but respect for your every day bonk fest ! Where do you get all your energy from ?? lol

terrier - congrats on the job x I wish I could say the same about not obsessing with ttc but I'm afraid it's all I seem to be thinking about this month !! It's really draining isn't it ?? Wonder now what I used to fill my thoughts with pre op days ?

Think I was imagining the symptoms though as I can feel the distant brewing of my AF arriving. Roll on Tuesday !!!

terrier141 · 30/08/2008 12:17

Hi all - linz - I now what you mean about the draining effect of obsessing - I was totally absorbed by the whole thing for the first few months and it really got me down. I think keeping busy has saved me from it lately - I couldnt have carried on like that - theyd have had me sectioned! lol!

OP posts:
terrier141 · 01/09/2008 09:09

Hows everyone today - any signs linz??
Nothing here Im afraid - af due today - but no signs either way - however fairly sure AF will turn up shortly!

My ex's new wife has just sent me an email asking me to send money with my kids when they see their dad - so they can pay for treats and days out for them!!! This is in addition to him not paying ANY maintanence for the last 5 years - I am spitting feathers!!!

OP posts:
welshlinz · 01/09/2008 12:33

terrier, OMG that is sooooo cheeky !! Bet you're furious !!

Been feeling really sick today - look totally green but think I may have a bug or something cos not feeling too great in general so unfortunately I don't think it's preg symptoms lol

Due tomorrow but got the familiar cramps starting so I guess it's on it's way but not giving up hope till it's actually arrived . Desperate to try out the clearblue freebie aswell. Has anyone used theirs yet ?

I'm vowing to not get so obsessed next month with it all !!

shm · 01/09/2008 14:48

Hi welshlinz - yes, I am sure that being obsessed with it doesn't help, and probably raises your stress levels to make conception actually less likely... but that's easy to say, isn't it?

Hi terrier - do these people not have jobs? Have they absolutely no income of their own?? because that's the only way I can imagine someone having the nerve to ask you that. Must be so hard on the children, to be in the middle ...
