Does anyone have experience of this? Hubby has just had it done and we are nervously awaiting the outcome!

Hi Katie - not too bad, how are you? Has hubby booked his op yet?

terrier141 · 24/07/2008 09:03

Hi Katie (and everyone else!) - Im not getting too much shagging done this cycle - constantly knackered for some reason. Have had some pretty well timed attempts though! Seems like todays ov day - so better have an early night!
How's everyone else? x

OP posts:
welshlinz · 24/07/2008 12:38

hi all, nice to see you back katieDD x
yes, get to bed early terrier if todays the day of ov

DH seems much better now. We've attempted things around 5 times now and things are returning back to normal IYSWIM

Think I missed my ov days for this month cos I've started to get my usual symptoms post ov..( sore boobs, etc..) but not to worry. Will try and catch them next month x

welshlinz · 26/07/2008 12:58

hi everyone. how are you all today ? Threads been a bit quiet these last few days

pinkmook · 26/07/2008 15:03

Hi Linz - Must be the good weather, everyone out and about. We all went to the beach on Thursday and watched Wall e yesterday - I cried nearly all the way through it! LOL You been up to much?

welshlinz · 26/07/2008 20:42

pink, yes went to the beach yesterday and to a lovely little welsh village close to where we live on Thursday. Today we bought DD a swimming pool so we've all been in there this afternoon lol

Am loving this weather !!!

pinkmook · 27/07/2008 07:51

A swimming pool WOW - all round to yours then? I'll get the BBQ on

terrier141 · 28/07/2008 08:04

Hi girls - I have been at the caravan for the weekend with the kids - they have been in the outdoor pool all weekend and we went to a carnival on Sat. Took the puppy too and got stopped by everyone - they all fell in love with her! This weather is really fab - some more please!!
I will be having a quiet week this week as kids are with their dad today and tomorrow and away with my mam from Thurs til Sun - peace and quiet at last! reckon I deserve it though cos I had the 4 of them pretty much all of last week - and just about every other households kids in my back garden!

hi all, yes this weather is brilliant. Have spent the day by the river eating ice cream and just enjoying DH being off. It has worked out really well that the time he has had off has been really sunny. Loving it and don't want him to go back to work lol

KatieDD · 28/07/2008 18:34

We've been enjoying the sunshine too, went to the seaside on Sat and saw a gypsy fortune teller who told me basically I wasn't having anymore kids so enjoy what you have
I've been on a real downer ever since and keep looking at things that need doing around the house that would be better use of our money
I think I'm giving up girls, too many reasons not to have a baby and I'm basically the only one who wants it.
I'll wish you all the luck in the world and will keep an eye out for your announcements

terrier141 · 29/07/2008 09:01

Aww Katie thats a shame - are you really sure you wont look back in years to come and wonder what if? Is your dh still not keen then? x

OP posts:
KatieDD · 29/07/2008 19:11

I'm sure I will regret it every day but DH really isn't happy and he wants to go back to Uni, what can I say, no I need you to support a child you don't want am very sad.

welshlinz · 29/07/2008 20:36

I'm so sorry to hear your news KatieDD

Can't imagine it's easy for you giving up the thought of having another child after months of getting your hopes up.

How do you feel about your DH going back to uni ?

terrier141 · 30/07/2008 08:58

Im really sorry you feel like that katie - it must be awful. It seems as if there are no winners in that situation.xx

frazzledoldbag34 · 30/07/2008 09:52

I have a friend whose DH had his reversed after about 8 years. Wasn't given a very good chance of it working (can't remember what the odds were)......however she is now pregnant and due Christmas time. The reversal was late last year so all v. quick.

Lots of luck to anyone in this situation.
Hope this story will give you hope that it can be done.

KatieDD · 30/07/2008 10:25

It is really hard but I can't say to him not to follow his dream can I ? I am very supportive of the Uni idea I might be able to talk him into another after that but I really didn't want an 8 year gap and plus the chances of the reversal working get less and less as time goes on.
I do want to stamp my feet, but I am very lucky and have a great life, I just know it'll hit me in September when I have no kids at home

terrier141 · 31/07/2008 08:14

Thanks frazzled - what a lovely story to keep our spirits up!

katie - I really do feel for you, i dont know what to say - is there really no compromise? Would him going to uni mean that you will be financially supporting the family? It seems that you are sacrificing your dream to allow for his - which is perfectly normal when you love someone, but may leave you feeling resentful. Does he really know just how much this means to you? Have you both been totally honest with each other? Sorry if Im sticking my beak in - just feel so sad for you xx

OP posts:
KatieDD · 31/07/2008 23:15

TBH I wouldn't really be supporting the family as such just that we would need to cut back on absolutely everything.
The only compromise I can see is that If I can earn the £2.5k to pay for the operation by September/October, we can be out of debt - about £4000 by Christmas then I think he would go ahead but that's a huge ask as my business has almost ground to a halt and he would say instead of having another baby we should be having a new kitchen, ours has literally fallen apart I hate the practicalities of life I really do.

terrier141 · 01/08/2008 09:17

I know - its crap isnt it - just when you think you are finally on your feet something else needs replacing - we are the same - nothings ever finished!

My dh went to the gp yesterday about lot of little things (not related to ttc) and asked about getting the sperm test done! I was amazed as we hadnt mentioned this for a while. He can take a sample in to the surgery anyday before 11.30 and they test it there! Im now scared that it will be news I dont want to hear - ignorance is bliss!
Anyway - I am far less stressed about ttc this cycle - actually havent given it that much thought! Have been distracted by the puppy (who is a monster by the way!), and feel quite relaxed!
Hope you are all okay xx

Hey everyone - have been away for a few days hol. am on 11dpo already had a neg preg test today and been spotting since yesterday so not much hope for me this month

Katie - I am so sorry things aren't going well atm. Hope you get a situation that suits you both or if not come to terms emotionally with whatever happens. It must be very hard to be faced with this dilemma. You sound like a very loving wife!

Terrier - see I said they'd do it the docs! Dont think of it as a worry to know what you are dealing with - knowledge is power!

Frazzled - thanks for that story, every little bit of hope helps!

I have got an interview for a new job next week - eeek! Its less money than I'm on atm but I need to escape the evil bags I work with!! The other problem is its only a temp contract with funding until march 2009 so its very scary if I get it to go from a permanent job to such uncertainty - send me some positive vibes girlies! xx

welshlinz · 02/08/2008 16:28

hi all, pink - sending loads of positive vibes your way.

I'm so bored waiting for my AF !! It's due either Tues or Thurs and I'd rather it just arrive so I can concentrate on the month of bonking ahead !! I no nothing has happened this month even though we did try things quite a few times but I looked on a website that said it takes at least 2 weeks for sperm to get back after the op, so think he's been running on empty even if I caught my fertile days !! It's hard work this ttc lark !

Anyway, great news terrier, about the sperm analysis. I can't wait for DH's because at least I will no what we're up against and what our chances are. Keep us posted x

terrier141 · 03/08/2008 09:19

positive vibes from me too pink xx

welshlinz - think im due af on Thurs too (well who knows - that would be 28 days - last cycle was 26 - one before 32 - so havent got a clue really!!. Havent been symptom spotting or anything this month - or tested yet! Do I get a gold star?? x

OP posts:
pinkmook · 03/08/2008 11:14

Welshlinz A huge gold star for you!!

Af started yesterday but has now gone into hiding

I hope KatieDD is ok

pinkmook · 03/08/2008 11:15

Sorry that should have been terrier with the star! (linz you can have one too if you like!)

terrier141 · 05/08/2008 07:25

Im out for this month AGAIN! AF showed up last night. In some part of my tiny brain i'd thought that becaused i'd been so relaxed about it i would either be (A) - pregnant or (B) - not too disappointed that I wasnt pregnant - and guess what I'm (C) - absolutely gutted yet again!! Will i never learn?!

How bout you lot? Did your af reappear pink?
Any sign of yours welshlinz?

xx
