Good evening ladies.... Hope you are all well... DD and I are turning into "Ladies that Lunch", its the weather, it just makes me want to go out....

Nat sorry you are having such a shit time wiht your mum. My mum never contacts me (although she is always on the phone to my brother and sister), I know that she doesn't really like me much. The only time we speek is when I call her and the only time she sees dd is when I take her around there (she drives past my house every saturday but never calls in).

I have decided that I am going to see how long it takes before she phones me... It has been 3 weeks so far and not a word. It does make me sad but I have had 30+ years of it so am used to it by now...

LL, makes you wonder if it is worth all the hassle doesn't it?

It isn't quite the same with my mum, I know she does care, and I know that when we are visiting, or if we ever did move back there she would want us to be a big part of her life, it really is just a case of out of sight out of mind with her. I don't even like moaning about her, because I know it isn't done on purpose (that isn't me making excuses for her, sister feels exactly the same) I know if I, or any of us, ever needed her for anything she would be there in a flash, she is just shite at the every day stuff, well not for my 2 sisters that do live there, but for us that are miles away.

You can choose your friends....

nobodyputsBBinthecorner · 12/05/2008 17:38

definately not! doesnt really help that outside of your own immediate circle its still seen by employers etc as negative so wen im back to work tomo to avoid being caught out i wont be able to come on so will only be on eves and weekends.... if that makes sense!!its daft i know but i really dnt wanna go back to wrk

nobodyputsBBinthecorner · 12/05/2008 18:00

lol me too LL! im star5ting to panick about going bk to work cos childcare costs soooo much x

OP posts:
lardylumps · 12/05/2008 18:05

you will have to see how it goes. While you are on maternity just put your money in a seperate account and try to live of dp. If it works then you dont need to go back if you only need an extra £xx then you could go back part time or flexi time or even job share etc.

nobodyputsBBinthecorner · 12/05/2008 18:16

lol i wont be going back full time, we cldnt afford that cos of childcare i think realistically i'd need to move to a parttime role closer to home, cos costs me alot to get to work atm! but i think you're right LL i think thats what we will do for a bit, only thing is i will still be pasying off my loan and have mob bill so id feel guilty getting dp to pay for that

calsworld · 12/05/2008 19:34

Squack, sorry you got AF - I'll be joining you in the next couple of days I'm sure, even got some spots breaking out to rub it in and I hardly ever get them!

The only possible sign I've got is that I'm still very 'damp' and keep going to check coz it feels like AF has arrived already - but not yet - talk about clinging on till hope really is gone .

Think I'll start temping this month - not sure what it all means but at least if I start collecting the data I'll feel like I'm trying to do something to improve the situation.

How many months do you have to be trying for before you start to question your ability to get pregnant? I've got endometriosis and am starting to worry there might be a problem...

I've never been told I worry to much

Working from home tomorrow on a project so will need to ensure I take regular breaks and hope to have more opportunities to pop on here....I wish I could get on more often, like when you're all actually about rather than when you've all buggered off for the night!!!

Got to scoot to do DS bedtime drink....BRB

lardylumps · 12/05/2008 20:01

night ladies speak to you tomorrow.

ReachOutAndTeuch · 12/05/2008 20:02

Hullo peeps! No way I can do a round up (and you all know I am rubbish at them anyway!!) ...

But, Squack...do you usually have spotting before period?

Been to see lovely District Nurse-cum-midwife-cum-health visitor today. She is happy to get things moving for me, has already called the EPU (although I am undecided about early scan at mo...) and talked me through a whole load of worries. She lovely .

She confirmed 2nd Jan as an estimate which is just ridiculous timing considering where I live and my previous prem delivery...

I have so much work to do, how the hell can I get scans/babies/aches/nausea/blah/blah out my head and do some??!!

calsworld · 12/05/2008 20:33

Hi Teuch, I'm back for a bit....your head must be really buzzing - I'm so (in a supportive way!).

kayzisexpecting · 12/05/2008 20:43

DS won't go to bed. He is really hyper and not at all sleepy. He has had a bottle and a half of milk and still not tired.

I have to be up at half 5, I'm at work at 8 and have to take DS to MIL's at 7. So I probably wont be on tomorrow morning.

I'm going to try and lie very very still when I go to bed and see if I get those wind/movement feelings again.

calsworld · 12/05/2008 20:55

Oh Kay, I know that feeling - DS has been a bugger of late - I blame the hot weather! Normally we have quiet play between 6 and 7 then at 7 he has a bath and (hopefully) in bed by 7.30. Over the past few days we've been taking him to the park to get him to run around and go on the swings and generally make sure he used up all his excess energy.

Wasn't so much of an issue today but he had a particularly "busy" day at nursery which has helped loads.

I bought shorts and sandals for him at the weekend and he really looks like a little boy, not my baby anymore ...hence my MEGA BROODINESS!

Hope he goes to sleep soon for you!

kayzisexpecting · 12/05/2008 21:09

He has gone to bed. But it took a while as he can now crawl up the stairs he refuses to be carried and will wriggle so much you have to put him down.

He is normally in bed for 9, because I work until half 8 some nights his routine is to go to bed about quarter to 9. You'd think an afternoon at the beach would have worn him out but noooo!

I need to get DS some shorts and sandals. He wore his football strip a few days ago and now he is walking around he looks so cute in it.

calsworld · 12/05/2008 21:21

9 - wow, even when he's staying up he crashes before then! What time does he get up? DS used to get up at 7.30 but only sleeps till just after 7 if I'm lucky, most mornings its half 6 these days.

I'm tempting fate by having a can of cider...or 2. Is that terrible? And I'm eating chocolates.

I can't live my life as if I'm pg, especially when I'm sure I'm not.

kayzisexpecting · 12/05/2008 21:24

Normally between 6 and 7 depends if DH is on earlys.

He can't go to bed any earlier because of DH's Muscular Dystrophy he can't carry DS up the stairs.

He'll sometimes crash before then but normally if we try to put him up early he doesn't like it.

calsworld · 12/05/2008 21:37

Ah bless, well at least he's at the point now that he can crawl up stairs for your DH.

Have decided to stop eating choccies having chain munched 6... feel a bit sick. (Keep calm, its not MS, I just don't do chocolate in big quantities!!!)

On with the cider....
