Oops, yes correct, should have said prednisolone. Hope you’re doing okay on it so far, and good to know there’s an end in sight.

Hi guys just checked my shehata plan for me it was 25mg till 12 weeks then reduce 1 tablet every 5 days quite scary when you’ve been on them so long.
nova fertility and also create when I spoke to them wanted me to start reducing from 10 weeks which I wasn’t too keen on xxx

Medication is reduced gradually after 12-16 weeks. "By 10 weeks, the foetus starts producing its own steroids,’ says Dr Shehata. ‘I advocate weaning off the treatment from around 12 weeks, then the baby and the placenta produce natural components of these immune substances themselves."

@Gizmo1983 I agree with you, weaning off will be scary but I do agree with you re the 10 week thing. Much as I want to get off them asap I would far rather go with the advice of a full expert in the field. I thought Dr S said something about baby getting to 10 weeks was good. Xxx

@Objectiontime yeah I guess by the time weaning off them is done it’s going to be another 25 days so that’s way past 12 weeks isn’t it xxx

Made it to Spain with my injections - no worries at the airport at all! Had to do the injection as soon as we picked up the hire car because of the time difference 🤪 carrying a miniature sharps bin is not something I thought id become accustomed to 🤣

here for a week so I’m going to do everything I can to relax and not count the minutes … here’s hoping. Sending love to all xxx

@Hopeandfaith1990 have an absolutely wonderful holiday lol I’ve done a few injections in the car but never had to do them abroad lol I bet they have 1000’s of IVF ers every day so they probably think nothing of it xxx

i know quite a few of us are having a bad time at the moment so I’m going to put it below so miss it if you want as I’ve been to all levels of crap on this journey and I don’t want to trigger anyone and I know sometimes u just don’t want to read updates just know I am thinking of everyone so much xxx

I had my 12 week scan today I’ve been so ill with this migraine but luckily I was so much better this morning, was terrified I could hardly walk in there but we are still going and the heart is still beating. I’ve been dated at 13 weeks exactly. My nipt had come back but I was so ill I hadn’t seen the e mail 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ and all has come back low risk so we keep fighting and hoping and praying. I’m still no where out of my danger zone yet. My cervical suture is going in a week tomorrow I’m terrified for that but it has to be done. Just got to keep hoping and praying xxx

Oh Giz I love this update! You’re a freaking warrior and I’m so happy it’s all still going as it should be and for the NIPT results.

Hope the suture goes okay - I’m sure it won’t be fun but perhaps it’ll offer you a tiny iota of comfort. I also hope the migraines bugger off xxx were all hoping and praying with you xxx

It is indeed. Think I will be about 18 weeks when I actually get to stop taking it!! That's assuming my NK assay at 12 weeks doesnt give my specialist other ideas :).

you so much ☺️ how are you feeling I don’t think going in for scans will ever get easier 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. I it’s good they will test you before they wean you off the steroids I don’t think mr shehata does that test x

I have been googling today at IVF in Greece. Looks a fair bit cheaper and higher success rate. I think we will look to do that end of the year if things haven’t been successful.

my second month with ovulation spotting at the moment and no positive opk. Never had this before I started the protocol. I’m wondering if it’s too strong for my body. Getting fed up now. Any blood is so triggering! And just confusing when it’s happening on my supposed most fertile day. Could be anovulation too I suppose. BBT also inconclusive. Was hoping last month was a stand alone with this.

Hi @SWMum9 we did a couple of rounds in the uk we were going to go to Spain next part of this was as we were looking into donor eggs but also their prices were so much better and they had very good success rates.
i feel you on the bleeding being triggering I had lots of random bleeding after my last 2 miscarriages and it just brought back those memories I feel my body changed in a differ way after every miscarriage xxx

@Objectiontime haha - I think I have to laugh or I'll cry!!! TTC/IVF is so funny - things that are very much not normal (e.g. injecting yourself in a hire car in the hire car carpark after rushing off the plane to keep to the hourly deadline) just become so normal you don't even realise how weird they must look to the outsider.

@SWMum9 could you try and get in for a scan post-ovulation (like 3DPO) or progesterone bloods at 7DPO to confirm if you have or haven't ovulated? Its so confusing and frustrating when you just don't know what the hell is going on in there. Like @Gizmo1983 I did also have random bleeds after MCs but it did settle in the two-ish months after. Are you keeping on doing the LH strips & BBT - maybe its just later in your cycle atm? xxx

@Gizmo1983 I am pretty well really, thank you. Still going anyway, you are right about the scans though! Yes, I'm happy to have a re test, not so happy to have to pay for it but I sort of feel obliged really if he thinks I should.

SWMum9 So sorry you are struggling. This path is very hard going, I didnt have IVF but I did have several months on and off steroids while I waited for a positive. We have very, very tricky times on this path. Hope things improve for you x
