@Jecca88 that is amazing re the IVF funding, so happy for you. I'm still in the early stages but honestly its quite refreshing to be told what to do etc after 2.5 years of this so far. When will you start? No idea re my egg collection yet, scanning tomorrow morning so will have an updated idea then :)

@Meg310532 so happy to hear all is going well for you, and wow September! That'll be here before we know it.

@Gizmo1983 super super good luck for your scan tonight, we'll all be holding your hand from afar. I agree this group is so amazing - I have felt so lonely in my journey in the past. Injections are going well (as far as I know!!). First scan since starting them tomorrow so I hope its all going in the right direction. I will update tomorrow after it xxxx

Hey ladies, gentle congrats @Objectiontime i really am keeping everything crossed for you.

good luck today @Gizmo1983 just to reassure you my friend just had cramping and spotting throughout the 1st trimester constantly and everything was fine in the scans. She is 16 weeks now. I know everyone is obvs different, but don’t lose hope yet.

@CarpeDiem75 i have actually told a lot of my friends about the losses, but it does get boring after 6 and people run out of things to say. It’s no longer - ‘it will happen’ but more silence now. I have definitely distanced myself from people and has really made me evaluate relationships.

@Fletchasketch im totally get what you mean about Dr S - he must just be so desensitised to it now, but its not fair. I watched this like YouTube series of this lady who went to his clinic back in 2016 and documented everything and he seemed much lighter back then. He actually seemed like he liked her.

currently 4DPO and not enjoying being back on pred - I feel it instantly makes me feel anxious and the progesterone - so bloating. However yesterday I got the approval for the NHS funding for two rounds of IVF, which was the first bit of good news we have had in 4 years. I honestly just feel like we are destined for bad luck - so was really surprised. So if this cycle doesn’t work - will start on IVF- which is a whole new minefield. @Hopeandfaith1990 hope you’re getting on alright. When is egg collection due? Glad you can go ahead of this cycle.

@Meg310532 just checking in to see how you are doing? Have you been discharged for the clinic now? When are you due? Sending love

Thank you Jecca88, I am happy but very anxious.
Yes, the pred is pretty awful. I would definitely rather not be on it but needs must x

Hi ladies just to let you know I’m out for the scan. Measuring 6w3days and there’s a heartbeat. I’m seeing this as a milestone as I have had heartbeats the last 2 and we lost at 10 and 15 weeks I’ll be honest I’m feeling very overwhelmed.
here’s an interesting story especially for any ladies who have tube issues. Last year I had my tubes tested/flushed by shehatas clinic. My left tube was blocked, well guess what this pregnancy has come from my left ovary so either the left tube unblocked itself or my right tube swung round and picked it up which I have heard of but to be honest thought was a load of rubbish. Xxx

Such good news! I know there’s a way to go yet, but that’s a really good sign.

Sounds like you’ve had a bit of a miracle with the left tube, and long may they continue!

Amazing, @Gizmo1983 ! What lovely news. I know there is still a way to go, but its a very encouraging start so I am quietly celebrating you tonight :)

I actually had the same tubal thing with one of my pregnancies after my ectopic with the tube being removed - it had somehow come from that side and moved - crazy! The female body is so cool (when it isn't gaslighting us and not doing as its told hah).

Thanks for updating us tonight, you were in my thoughts.

Thank you! Mine was ok (I think?) I have about 14 follicles but some are already 13/14/15mm so I’ve been told to do double cetrotide today (as well as the fostimon) to prevent premature ovulation. The Dr said I’m responding really well but now I’m worried too well 😔 it’s one thing after another isn’t it! But overall it was fine, I had bloods done too so I’ll wait to hear about those and going in for another scan and bloods on Friday.

Gizmo1983 · 04/06/2025 13:19

@Hopeandfaith1990 ooooh lots of follicles that’s brill. I’m sure it will all be fine in my 1st cycle they were worried I would ovulate before egg collection ( I only had 4 follicles lol) on the morning of egg collection I was sure I could feel myself ovulating I was totally paranoid but I hadn’t. I think it’s so easy to let your mind run away isn’t it xxx

Gizmo1983 · 04/06/2025 13:21

@CarpeDiem75 thank you so much, still a long way to go but one step further xxx

Honestly I was sure I was ovulating today at cycle day 6 😂😂the paranoia and anxiety is ridiculous xxx

Gizmo1983 · 04/06/2025 15:19

@Hopeandfaith1990 😂😂😂I was the same i was so paranoid and it felt exactly the same like I was ovulating 😂😂😂 even just a few days in 🤪🤪🤪. What does this stuff do to us

Jecca88 · 05/06/2025 14:28

amazing about follicle numbers @Hopeandfaith1990 - so how often do you have scans in the stimulating period? is it every few days? i am 6DPO - not holding out too much hope this cycle but its nice to know we have ivf as a fallback. @Gizmo1983 when is your next scan?

@Objectiontime how are you doing? have your tests been getting stronger? when have you got your first scan?

I just want to have a rant - maybe its the progesterone and steroids that are making me mad but don't you just hate it when people say 'as a mother'? Louise Thompson is a prime example for this from MIC - looking at what her bro is doing for UNicef - like 'as i mother - i know how awful this is' - as if people who are not mothers don't give a shit. It really grates on me lol. So many people do it - saying they can't watch children getting abused - because they are a mother.

also my best mate who is currently pregnant and a couple of weeks behind what we would have been with our Olive - says she doesn't want to be recognised as her pregnancy - but its ALL she talks about it and it defines her. She came round the other day and i offered her a non-alcholic gin and tonic - but she started saying i can't have tonic, and then proceeded to list 100 things she couldn't have 'as a pregnant person' - I think if you google anything - it will say don't have whilst pregnant.

sorry Rant over :)

OP posts:
Gizmo1983 · 05/06/2025 15:07

Hey @Jecca88 im so sorry you would would think your friend would be a little more sensitive to your feelings about the whole thing especially when your dates were so close. My ivf baby would have been due next week it just clicked the other day, I’m ok with it in fact it seems like bloody ages since I lost her, it feels like 9 years not months.
people are such idiots I’m sure all our instincts ‘as a mother are exactly the same ‘ in fact there’s plenty of biological mothers who definitely don’t have that mothering instinct.
I’m in an agitated mood today as well actually there must be something in the air. Just had my intralipids. I hate intralipids and I’m not 100% convinced they do anything anyway while I was there I looked up some studies on whether there is proof and from what I can see studies suggest they can help but there’s no definitive proof. I’d love to know others thoughts on them, even more bizarre is the ingredients in them are things that so many people are allergic to which is ironic.
i have my next scan a week today so not long to wait. I haven’t registered with the midwife or anything like that I won’t till the very last minute as I spend ages filling in their bloody app and then I loose it and have to cancel it all anyway so am leaving till the very last minute.
are you going to test on 10dpo?
is it awful that I have absolutely no faith that this pregnancy is going to work out I sound so ungrateful and awful and my hubby isn’t so happy with me I’m just protecting myself subconsciously I just keep thinking why will this one stick when the others didn’t. I still have the pick discharge it is no better or worse and I had it with the others and no one can see where it comes from so I’m just ignoring it lol xxx

Jecca88 · 05/06/2025 15:30

totally fair enough @Gizmo1983 about not registering with the midwife, i didn't do last time despite nearly getting to 13 weeks as they always forget to cancel my appoints and i get reminders which are horrible.

Ahh what date would your little girl be due? its my wedding anniversary next week on the 11th. What did you name her?

I think you are so valid to have these feelings about the current pregnancy, you are prob just protecting yourself and its your instinct to not get carried away, but you are doing all you can to try and make this a success. Its such a hard place as you want to enjoy it but it has just been robbed from you.

I also am totally with you on the intralipids, its a mad concoction of egg yolk, soya and fats - when i explain it to people it makes no sense. I would say that after two months of pre-ovulation intralipids i have always got pregnant, but not sure if i would have got pregnant anyway.

Also - i have been hearing about this company called Fertlysis - based in Athens - who do the testing for NK cells and immunology- you can send off your bloods and get them done at superdrug and its more than half the price than the UK. They also do a treatment where they collect a sample of the husbands blood for antibodies and inject to the female almost like a vaccine to make you body more susceptible to recieveing your partners sperm for implantation. Quite interesting and had not heard of this.

Gizmo1983 · 05/06/2025 15:49

Ooooh @Jecca88 yes fertilysis seem to be getting mentioned lots on the RI Facebook groups, there was a lady yesterday saying she’d asked at CRP they said no everything was fine and didn’t need to test for x,y and z so she did it with fertilisis and it came up with some stuff grrrr I can’t remember what it was now. The way I see it the amount we’ve all spent if you can do a few more tests then why not. Most of us now here must have had almost every test going so if it’s not in the multiples of £1000 it’s definitely worth looking into.
she was due 15th June, we called her baby E, everything happened so fast and she was going to be called Emily and we just didn’t know if we had another girl would we still want to use the name so the funeral home said to call her baby E. I have no idea if I’d be able to use the name again or not if we even get that chance.
oooh are you doing anything nice for your wedding anniversary? We always say we will then don’t lol must start making more of an effort lol
I had exactly the same when I was registered with the midwife all these stupid appts that the bereavement midwives promised to cancel and didn’t. The bereavement midwives used to be amazing after the 15 week loss they were like when u get pregnant again just contact us straight away we will scan you as soon as you find out we will look after you. So when I was again I emailed them and both of them had gone so it was one new woman she never returned my calls or e mails she did finally contact me but acted like I was a nuisance so I thought stuff that xxx

Objectiontime · 05/06/2025 22:34

Hello ladies.
@Jecca88 Answering your question, I have only done one more test since I got my positive. To be honest, since my chemicals, testing regularly kind of freaks me out, especially the first one where i got a reasonable positive one day and a stark white negative two days later! I did, however, cave yesterday and got a pretty decent line on a cheapie, considering it was evening and I had been drinking and peeing all day. Hoping it means the HCG is rising at least. Will get another beta done at the weekend, which I find a little scary.
I have a scan booked for the week after next but it was originally supposed to be a general scan with the fertility specialist. Will now be a very early pregnancy scan so I am not expecting much. If things continue I will probably book one for 8 weeks but I hate scans after my MMC.

I agree with what has been said here and I am in no rush to book in with a midwife either! My hospital was a bit too quick with the 12 week scan appointments when I had my chemicals as well. I was slightly less than happy when I got the scan appointment letters while trying to recover emotionally from the losses. Amazing how efficient the NHS can be when do dont need it and could well do without it!

On the intralipids, I am one of those allergic people but I do know someone who had a baby after 6 losses as her immune tests showed they would work best for her and it seems they did. She didnt need anything else though, including steroids so who knows. For me, they are more likely to kill me than help me get pregnant so I am definitely not going to be having them:).

Love to all.

Gizmo1983 · 06/06/2025 08:48

Hey @Objectiontime totally get it I was stupid and tested every half day so when the lines don’t seem much darker got stressed when of course there wasnt going to be much difference I just couldn’t stop. I have stopped now though.
im terrified of scans as well as I’ve never just had a normal miscarriage unfortunately mine have all been found when I went for the ultrasounds, it does make me wonder if nk cells are my issue then you y would think my body would try to expel the products rather than just stop the heart beating but my body does everything it can to hold on to them but that science is well over my head.
wow that’s interesting about your friend isn’t it, my sister is highly allergic to every ingredient in the intralipids as well there would be no way she could have them certainly nothing is worth dying for. My main faith is in the steroids again no real evidence for this probably just because it’s a handful of tablets so I think they are going to work more 🤪🤪🤪. Xxx

Jecca88 · 06/06/2025 12:09

Yes @Gizmo1983 think its only like just over a 1000 for the full profile with Fertilysis. I will be thinking of Baby E next Sunday :)
we have both taken the day off next wednesday and will go for a picnic and a open water swim and then maybe a nice meal out :) Kinda depends on if i get a positive test or not come monday.

@Objectiontime totally fair - i am the same with tests and also have had 4 missed miscarriages so tests provide no reassurance to me. The Scans are the worst so get your reason why not booking too many in. Interesting about your friend only having intralipids and it working for her.

OP posts:
Gizmo1983 · 06/06/2025 12:34

@Jecca88 hey Jecca oh wow an open water swim how awesome, do you do it often? Do u do ocean or freshwater. We live pretty near the coast and there’s always groups swimming in the sea I have not been brave enough yet not sure if I ever will lol.

if the whole profile with fertilisis is around 1k id be very tempted you just never know if thats where the answer could be and the amount already spent it’s not that bad.
