But think of the cats! I still find that so funny 3 years later! Of all the excuses someone could come up with for not ttcing.

Yeah I think we were quite lucky. I didn't bf DS so I couldn't rely on that. But my friend got pg 7 weeks after having her first. She was BF so its not 100%

Playingthewaitinggame · 28/04/2008 14:39

I understand Geordie, I was not meaning to judge. As I said I couldn't do it from a selfish POV, not moral. And of course there is nothing wrong with wanting to go back to work, in a sense it would be a lot easier if I did, then we could afford ttc a bit quicker. I just don't want to miss out on the early years, again its me being selfish. I have been waiting for so many years to have kids that I don't want to leave them in nursery if I can avoid it, which I might not, but still I def don't want to leave the full time. Its a personal choice. And as you said you know your DP does want kids, so I really understand where you are coming from.

Playingthewaitinggame · 28/04/2008 14:42

oh and I really wished I loved my work, you are lucky. There are times when I really enjoy what I do but there are times when I pull my hair out. More to do with the company than the job, never enough money or time to ever do my job properly!

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 14:44

I think DS thinks I'm having twins. I just asked him if I'm having a girl and he nodded then I asked if I was having a boy and he nodded again apparently 99% of the time siblings are right!!

Hey Geordie, its not naive at all!! My colleague has a 3 year old, she adores him but has worked full time since he was 6 months old. She said she got completely fed up in mat leave and couldn't wait to get back to work, her only regret was that she didn't come back to work sooner! She obviously doesn't feel like she is missing out. Its just I want to do the things SAHM's do, I am looking forward to it, for me thats part of the reason I want kids. But as I said its all about me and there are loads of people out there that are not like me!

Playingthewaitinggame · 28/04/2008 15:06

Bye Geordie

calsworld · 28/04/2008 15:10

Is anyone still here?

I'm at home this afternoon - DS threw up overnight, not a lot, but enough to get him out of going to nursery today . He's had some diarrhoea today too so something clearly not right. I had to go to work this morning as had some Belgians flying in to see me, so DH stayed home with him. Now we've swapped so DH is at work and I'm in bed with a sleepy DS, quietly tip tapping away on the laptop.

He's been asleep 1hr 40 mins so far so probably not got much time left! Will pick up with you later as need to get as much work done as possible whilst he;s asleep!

CD16 today, no idea if I've OV'd or not, not much CM about at all...we've GOF'd CD 13, 14 and 15 though so doing quite well!

Uh oh - sleepy head is stirring....shhhhh

Playingthewaitinggame · 28/04/2008 15:12

I'm here, but shouldn't realy be, so I might have to disappear soon. Sorry bout your DS.

NatalieJane · 28/04/2008 15:26

sorry Moos (and LL - for blaming you!!!)

Hope DS is better after his nap Cal

GJ, do be careful if you choose to BF, it isn't a contraceptive at all, there are many many threads on MN alone that have gone on about this. It is true that most people do have a while before their periods return (Mine returned when he cut out the day time feeds at 10 months), but others will go straight back to their normal cycle, and the problem is you don't know when that first egg pops out (which is obviously before the first period, so it is no use waiting for your first post-birth period before you sort out contraception either, you could already be pregnant!)

excitedtinkerbell · 28/04/2008 16:02

wow busy ladies
i didnt get on my breast feeding atall with dd1 had to stop @ 5wks just wasnt getting it and is still a really fussy eater now!!
not intended to breast feed next one 2 much stress!!
the thing about sophie lancaster is really sad!!
regarding bjs i find my mouth starts aching after a few mins by an hour it would have seized up

Diege · 28/04/2008 16:18

The mind boggles!! Just popping in to say 'hi'!! Looking forward to catching up tonight - Not read through any yet, but Tinks last post has wetted my appetite

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 16:20

Here they have been sentanced. At least 18 years. I don't know if it is long enough personally but it is better than nothing.

NatalieJane · 28/04/2008 16:25

I hope her family are happy with it Kay.

LMAO Diege, I can see the chat is going to get dirtier with you about!

Tink, I think getting through the first six weeks can be the hardest thing you will ever do, you did really well to get to 5 weeks if it wasn't going well. 5 weeks in a normal persons time is barely anything, but 5 weeks when you have a new baby, no sleep, and when you do generally feel a bit down is a looooooong ol' time!

lardylumps · 28/04/2008 16:25

Hello everyone. Dont have time to catch up so can anyone give me a quick run down. What is the gossip? I have not been on since last wednesday so what have I missed????????

excitedtinkerbell · 28/04/2008 16:26

oh good

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 16:55

I hope they will be too Nat. Her mum is lovely.

I am weeing for Britain. I think that is the most interesting thing in my life ATM LL!

lardylumps · 28/04/2008 17:01

So do we have any BFP yet or is anyone about to test?????? I am going to start ttc again this month tonight only CD6 but got to get back into the grove .

How was London Kay and how was Diege's trip?

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 17:12

London was brilliant thanks.

We went to see Phantom Of The Opera. It was brilliant. We went to the zoo which was really really good.

How has your weekend been?

TheSlightestTeuch · 28/04/2008 17:18

Diege - F&Z asking about eyelash tinting on a pregnancy thread...I knew you had some gem about hair dye that might be useful?
