Follow up form TTC BABY #1 - cycle buddies.
For all the girls trying to conceive their first baby !

@HE93C i'm sorry you had to go through a MC, i totally feel for you, i had my first MC the first time ever of ttc, so yeah when it doesn't happen right away after, it keeps you wandering! But hey they say you became more fertile for a few months right after so might be IT for you ❤️‍🩹

Honestly I feel like the universe is conspiring against me. I had the first line blood test to see if I ovulated this morning (rudest nurse ever didn’t even say good morning) then the mortgage man rang to say our house we’d had an offer accepted on (after 3 sealed bids) has been undervalued by £150k 😱😱😱😱

so I’ve just spent the day crying. I did my blood pressure at the doctors and that was ridiculously high as well. I’m relatively slim and fit so it must be the stress

absolutely paranoid that I’m 37 in 14 days and never going to have a baby (or move house at this rate, but equally I can buy a house forever and I have a bone crushing realisation that I can only have 2 babies in a relatively small window of the next 3-4 years)

alas I’m still in my TWW so maybe I will get a nice BFP birthday present. My boobs hurt and I have lower tummy pains (which I did last month before I was 4 days late!) so it’s not over til it’s over. What is going on with my life!

A lot of us here that are TTC for the first time are also a bit older too. You're not alone in this 💛

It sounds like you have a lot on at the moment, try and be kind to yourself.

I'm turning 36 and worry I've left it to late, we think we only want one but if we decide to have more then I feel like clock ticking.

I think that's why there is so much pressure on me as well.

@Toppstileslover sometimes life can be tough on us, but remember the sky always clears up. As for the age, dont focus on that, as long as you are trying and doing you part, dont loose hope quite yet, we are all trying for our first baby, many of us have one or more losses on the way, and we are still keeping it positive. Remember stress will only make it worse. Try to let go, do some soothing activities, one you actually enjoy and try to keep busy, i find myself handling better the tww when being very busy at work. This journey is filled with ups and downs, hopefully will we have sunshine ☀️ soon.

Thank you ladies! It’s a lot on top of TTC. Being a guy is so easy isn’t it? I’ve got to try and relax this is so bad for health. Think if I get AF I’ll have to have the rest of this year off it’s just one thing after another 😭🩷🦄

@Lila34830 @pastelpink0 yes exactly and I defo second what you say about the trying and cycles always being different.. until TTC my ovulation was CD16 every single month.. since this journey I’ve have CD13, CD15 and CD17.. all symptoms different each month bar sore boobs and bloating. I feel like I can’t even try plan DTD as it’s not very reliable 😂. Every month I’m trying to get ahead and second guess and it doesn’t work 🤣 we only managed once this time as ovu appeared so early and the first month we missed peak and ovu day as I assumed it had been and gone!! It’s so flipping annoying 🙃😂. We’ve agreed this month we’re just gonna DTD every other day from my period ending.. IM TIRED JUST THINKING ABOUT IT!!!!

@Toppstileslover sorry your having a hard time, we all experience ups and downs on this journey! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!

I’m 38 and I sometimes panic as well that I left it too late, but my friend is expecting her first at 40 without any medical interventions so I have to think positively. I also refuse to beat myself up about the fact that I didn’t start sooner, I met the love of my life later than I hoped, it was out of my hands. I’m grateful every day that I didn’t have a child at 30 with the wrong person. We’ll give this our best shot ladies, that’s all we can do.

Hi ladies, just catching up on all the messages.
Looks like all of us are mid/late 30s. I personally focused on my career, reaching my goals and being financially stable before considering having a baby. I think for centuries women have been made to think that their only goal in life should be having babies. We should be proud of all we achieved before hand, there is no such thing as " too late " life wise (of course biologically it's another story). 🫶🏽

I'm 5 dpo today but strangely feel calm and collected so I really want to hold off testing for as long as I can and ideally until af is due ... I feel like I will be able to as mentally I feel at peace. Very weird for me to say after so much worry about my ovulation lol

@KT199 did af show up for you ?? Sorry if I missed your update on that !
Omg I commend you if you dtd every other day from end of period and end up with a bfp im gonna feel obliged to do the same 😂😂😂

Arrived this morning, but it is what it is! Onto the new cycle 😊.
I’ve booked a pelvic ultrasound for CD12, as I’ve never had one and have a few concerns from some notes on my medical records from my latest smear about my cervix so hoping that will either put my mind at rest or let us know if there’s anything going on down there. Was advised to do it at that point in cycle so they can also check my follicles and if it looks like I’m ovulating!

I think I'm coming down with something as I feel SO nauseous and feverish. I'm only 5dpo, so I know it's not pregnancy related at all but god, I'm going through it waiting to log off at work !!

Thank you for sharing, it's so lovely to read familiar stories. I've been lurking on this thread for a little while, it's a very different space here compared to some of the other ttc threads I have been on. You ladies are so positive and supportive ❤️

I'm 34, I also focused on career, moved from
the countryside to London. I was with a partner for 8 years until he decided we were better off as friends.. it really came out of the blue and I thought that our future was together. After that I made a bit of a dramatic decision to quit my job, move back home and try to start a new life. I now have a small business and met someone new, we've been ttc for 9 months now, I'm 34 he's 39.

I've been tracking using premom for 6 months, last month I had my bloods done which confirmed ovulation. I'm currently 5 dpo!

I watched a YouTube video recently which explains what's happening at each dpo if the egg is fertilised - it's friggin amazing! The fact that our bodies are capable of that is amazing and also reassures me as to why it can take a while for it to make little miracles inside of us.

Welcome to what we call the " dino club " 🦕 because we're all slightly older than the average for a first baby ! (I mean, barely older because being in your 30s is nowadays is so young !!!)

We are in sync re cycle then ! I'm 5/6 dpo too ! No symptoms so far though !
