HM2J as CE says could you not ask one of your mum friends or brothers/sisters? Failing that an agency? We usually use family for babysitting, but have used friends too and it was fine. I quite like babysitting for my friends myself. If you really cannot find anyone I would sell the tickets rather than go alone. Then book a babysitter and go out for dinner or something instead another time. Have a lovely birthday. I hope the scan goes well-I know how stressful it is

Soosy sorry to hear about the spotting.

CE railway museum sounds a good option

Ceebee-good bump!

I am afraid you will not get to see mine as am just not keen on putting photos up (also no idea how to do it!)

HC have fun!

MJIM hope the throat improves soon

Sweltering day here so have packed loads in and enjoying catching up with some friends after school. We hardly meet up now as our children go to different schools so it was good to see the kids just slipping back into the old friendships. Only downside of the lovely weather is the hideous hay fever

ceebee74 · 09/06/2008 20:01

Evening ladies ? thanks for the kind words about my bump ? you have made me feel better about it

HC ? enjoy tonight!! Fingers crossed that this is the month for you

HM2J ? I would either go with a friend or not go at all ? I am wary about who I leave DS with and if you weren?t comfortable, you wouldn?t enjoy it anyway. Just make sure DH is aware of the sacrifice and that he plans something special for another time! BTW, CE is right ? turning 30 is a breeze! I was dreading it and made sure I booked a holiday in Mexico so I turned 30 there but it feels no different at all

MJIM ? you always sound like you have real idyllic days Have a good night tonight!

CE ? I think you have made the right decision about the outward bound trip ? there is no point in risking it at all ? am sure the railway museum will be just as interesting

Had a lovely day today ? took DS to a local park this morning and then went shopping with DH (who was meant to be working from home) this afternoon to buy his own Father?s Day pressie ! He got the Indiana Jones lego game for his Wii

Right, going to watch the football and enjoy my tea (we treated ourselves to an M&S tea ? yum yum!)

Thanks ladies. We are VERY particular about who we leave our kids with and because we keep ourselves to ourselves for the most part, don't have many other parent friends that we know well enough to leave the boys with. Alas, my brother/sisters are in Canada and Australia right now, lol! My neighbours are out as we fell out with the immediate next door neighbour when the extension was built in 2005 and as she has been here since the houses were built as well as the other neighbours with kids, she managed to turn them all against us (hence why we keep ourselves to oursleves...I hate where I live and can't wait to move away from this lot).

We have the tickets listed on the site we bought them from, will pop them on ebay and propbably offer them here too and they will go to the first available person who wants them. We are now talking about using our Tesco vouchers to go away for the weekend in a few weeks time, the whole family, but we don't mind. Will also manage to squueze a meal & going to the pictures out of him when we can get family to sit for us.

Damn us for being so picky, lol!

HC, have fun tonight

Ceebee, lol at your hubby! Mine is trying to talk me into wanting super smash bros for the wii for my birthday instead . He's treading on thin ice, lol!

MrsPuddleduck · 10/06/2008 09:32

Morning all.

H2MJ - good decision about the tickets. You will enjoy a weekend away with your family far more!

HC -

CE - Be careful about going to railway museums when pregnant.........your little on may be born with a bobble hat! LOL!!

Majormoo - poor you with hayfever I have it really bad at the moment but at least I can take anit-hystemine. My hayfever completely disappeared when pregnant - which was really weird and it took about 18 months to come back as well after the second pregnancy. Guess I was just lucky!

Hope everyone is enjoying the last of the sunshine (I hear it is downhill from here).

I am resolved to doing a load of work today! I am never going to be able to hand back my old files unless they are 'up straight'

I definitely will not be back this morning!

HumphreysCorner · 10/06/2008 09:50

Morning ladies

How are we all today. My temp has not exactly rocketed today but hoping it is enough to say I OV'd yesterday. Hoping DH and I don't argue tonight so we can send in more troops.

Not the hot and sunny day that was forecast so will catch up with Lost later. Better show willing and do some housework.

Waves to everyone and will catch you all later.

Bellie · 10/06/2008 10:35

morning all,

CE - was going to say I have no symptoms, but then realised that I do!! Boobs very sore, incredibly tired, waking at 4am (did this for 5 months with dd ) feeling very sick from 4pm until 8pm, but the nausea goes away if I eat! Also have thickened up around the waist already - not sure how I am going to explain the weight gain as I had only just lost it all!!

HC fingers crossed the temp increase is enough and the troops go in tonight!

HM2J - I know what you mean about babysitting. We have only every left dd with my parents at night, and with a couple of really good trusted friends in the day time. I am thinking that I might register with sitters or similar though for when no2 comes along as not sure that my parents will cope with 2!!

Majormoo - with you on the hay fever - I only ever get it when I am pregnant and then I can't take the anti-hystermines! Willmouse - we are ying and yang lol!

Still really warm here but not so sunny, hope you are all enjoying it though!

ChocolateEclair · 10/06/2008 17:05

hi everyone. Hope you have had a nice day

HC - sounds good to me. I'm sure you can squeeze a quickie in tonight! Hope this is your month xx

majormoo and bellie - how strange about the hayfever! I have never had it and am now paranoid that I may suddenly develop it!

willmouse - sounds like pregnancy suits you! Hope you got plenty of work done today!

HM2J - glad you have come to a resolution. At the end of the day you have to be happy with what you decided (not us or anyone else!) so it sounds like you will have a lovely family time instead

ceebee - glad you are feeling better about your bump. It really looked great....I'm quite jealous!

Hope all the other ladies are well (and beans!)

I told the work colleague that was organising the outward bound day that I was pg - and she beat me to it - said "Right, You're not going then!" so I am going to The Sage Art Gallery in Gateshead instead (yey!) and another teacher is going in my place.I ended up telling someone else in the photocopying room! LOL! They were both really lovely and almost in tears! Bless!

Bellie - I had no idea that not sleeping well was a pg sign! I have been sleeping terribly for the last 2 weeks despite being really tired! Now I know why!

HumphreysCorner · 10/06/2008 19:23

ceebee-have just watched episode 11 Cabin Fever and episode 12 where they find The Orchid. Have I missed the episode where Sawyer comes out of the water? Got 2 epsiodes full of Sayid which was rather nice.

HumphreysCorner · 10/06/2008 19:52

ceebee74 · 10/06/2008 21:02

Soosy - so so very sorry I don't know what to suggest as I guess only you and your DP can make that decision but you have been so courageous and positive throughout, I really admire you for it. Sending you {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}

Oh Soosy, so sorry. Thinking of you.

Ceebee, v cute bump!!

Just moved in to new house. Whacked! Carried about 9000 boxes up & down as many steps. Grainy, almost flour-y type CM (weird! sorry)& v sore (.)(.) CD 19-22 but some light brown Cm today = methinks AF is coming within 4 days . Will catch up tomorrow, nite nite all. Missed you.

ChocolateEclair · 11/06/2008 07:31

oh soosy I'm so sorry. Hope you are OK. I know there's absolutely nothing we can say to make you feel better. I do hope that you might be able to stay with us but understand if you just can't

Mandy - it's not over til she arrives remember. Keep hopeful.

Mandy73 · 11/06/2008 10:23

Bellie, so happy the scan went well.

MJIM, throat any better? Thinking about birth plan = not crazy, good idea.

Majormoo, hayfever sucks. Hmm, not very enthusiastic comment from your friend, I?d say even a bit rude, but perhaps she?s got her own issues.

H2MJ, I?d be V particular about who to leave kids with too!

HC, have fun sending in the troops! Don?t stop until you lose the ability to walk, sit or squat.

Willmouse, hope you?re felling better and it?s just the tropical heat we had. Better than moving houses in torrential rain though... sigh of relief

CE, thanks for the encouragement! Enjoy the trainspotters.
Well this was always going to be a strange cycle with house move & stuff. 2ww is over on Sunday I think (still haven?t unpacked calender) but I?m pretty certain AF is on her way. The b*tch.

Many thanks for the positivity MJIM. Glad your throat's better. What made you convinced you were nor PG in Jan?
Also would be grateful for your views on when to test: Sat 14/06 (CD 28, 14 dpo) or Sun 15/06? Crap. I think I'll just leave it. I know the witch is coming. Kicking myself for getting hopes up about (imagined?) symptoms. I swear this obsession is counter productive but what the h*ll is the alternative!? Sorry, rant over.
Calm, positive, happy thoughts now...

Heartmum2Jamie · 11/06/2008 11:49

Soosy, I am so sorry hon (((((HUGS)))))

MJIM, I agree that thinking about your birth plan is not crazy. I have to admit I am not making one this time, the never look at them here anyway. My midwife knows I want my birth to be as similar to my last one as possible.

Mandy, sorry to hear you think AF is on the way.

HC: How's the chart looking today?

I have my scan tomorrow and am soooo excited I can barely think straight. I had quite a broken night sleep last night and should imagine I won't get alot of sleep tonight. Scan is at 2.30 and we will be staying in town doing some shopping afterwards, so will update in the evening. Oh, and am 20 weeks today! Time is flying!

Heartmum2Jamie · 11/06/2008 11:56

Oh and new belly pic and pic of my boys at the bottom of my profile

If baby plays ball we are going to find out and then I am going to keep it to myself......Bwhahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Just kidding! What on earth makes you think I wouldn't spill the beans within 10 minutes of getting home, lol! I am USELESS at secrets.

As for you, nearly 24 weeks, wow! It is flying. That is my next "milestone". I have always thought it was important to get to the 24 week viability. Sounds a bit silly really, but it makes me breath a sigh of relief to get there.

Mandy73 · 11/06/2008 14:11

Ladies, what's all this then? MJIM strict? Strikes me as an absolute fabrication.

HM2J: You, boys & bump look beautiful.

Right. This well organized, focused (dare I say mental), straight-and-narrow TCC attitude clearly isn't working for us so I'm going to chuck my chart & OPK sticks, get me a bumper box of tampons, some super tight & warm trousers & pants for DH, lots of coffee, booze, crisps & cake. Oh, and I'm taking up smoking again. And getting a puppy dog.

Joking. But bloody tempted.
