Oh willmouse, blimey, no wonder you are so stressed.

  1. Definitely walk away from that one. Adverts are that expensive but not your problem.
  1. Sounds like a good/viable temporary job to earn some income while you sort childminding.

3 & 4. Surely you can only do one or the other and preferably the one that is easier and cheaper to achieve.

Not that helpful I know but I am so glad you shared with us.

Willmouse - I can't really add anything that the others haven't already said but the police job does sound like a handy stop-gap and I love the idea of a handover in the carpark

HC/CE - lol at you 2 and your FF. I got so confused when I looked at it I never went anywhere near it again and I hate to think what it would have thought about my mammoth weird cycles!

Majormoo - oooh girly weekend, you lucky thing (shame you can't indulge though - am sure it would be much better with lots of wine )

Right, best go and put DS to bed and then put tea on.

MrsPuddleduck · 16/05/2008 19:40

Thanks all, I feel better already. It is stressful with so many balls in the air but I am sure it will all be worth it.

DH has gone to the cup final so I am on my own with the boys.

Off to have my tea, a glass of wine and watch a chick flick

Heartmum2Jamie · 16/05/2008 19:43

Wow Willmouse, no wonder you are stressed.

I agree with the other, knock #1 on the head, great news about #2 and as for 3 & 4, I think I would go for #3, at least for now as it is more easily achievable and somehow sounds less stressful.

Majormoo, good to hear from you, enjoy your weekend, it sounds like fun!

Where is everyone today???? It is like the Marie Celeste!!!

I will post even though I am now the only one officially NOT ttc! LOL!

I have survived two days on my own with the boys (which is a good job really considering my next career move). In fact I really enjoyed myself this weekend, I planned what I was going to do and we have had had some real fun (despite the fact that DS1 now has his gameboy and DS2 is sat watching Ceebeebies )

DH is gutted that Cardiff lost the FA cup final. He spoke to me to tell me he was on the way home as they were still handing out the medals aparently he was too disappointed to watch. After three everyone.....ahhhhhhh

Our washing machine is now finally dead . I always call it Rosie's washing machine (Rosie was DH's ex who he bought the washing machine with when they first moved in together) - it is donkeys years old - oh well - I still have Rosie's toaster !!!! Am I weird??

Anyway to cut a long story short I loaded the said machine and went into town. Came back an hour later (damn thing takes 2 hrs to do the 40 degree wash - will be glad to see the back of it!) to hear the most horrendous banging noise. I had to fiddle with the knob (pardon the pun) to unlock the door and then thankfully turned it off at the socket because when I opened the door a load of black smoke came out!!!!!!!! Washing smells a bit dodgy but quite frankly we are going to have to put up with it until I can get another. I am just glad I was only an hour in town, the whole house could have burned down.

Sorry guys, another long post about not much at all really!!! Presumably you are all having a better time than me!

ChocolateEclair · 17/05/2008 19:48

willmouse - you crack me up! . Sounds like you are having 'one of those days'!!! Hope this evening improves! You seem to have enjoyed the time with your boys though, so that's good!

We have been looking round a few shops today, (I won't say shopping as we didn't buy much!). DP tried on a suit for my sisters wedding, and I nearly dragged him off somewhere he looked soooo sexy! LOL

We are now watching Mr and Mrs, discussing how badly we would do!

I don't think it's odd about your DH's ex stuff still being used, it's just common sense! I lived in this house with my ex, and most of the furniture etc was bought with him. DP is fine about it all now!

I tried to resist the urge to look at baby stuff but it's so hard! There is some very nice kit out there...can't wait to start buying it!

Hope everyone is well
CE xx

Heartmum2Jamie · 17/05/2008 20:25

Willmouse, sounds like the sort of thing that would happen to me. I hope your weekend gets better.

CE, I also watched Mr & Mrs and thought about how bad we would be too, lol! Actually, I hardly ever watch weekend tv apart from Dr Who (which we recorded) and I watched Mr & Mrs and am now watching Britains got talent and secretly enjoying it

Heartmum2Jamie · 17/05/2008 20:31

Oh, meant to say that I understand about the baby gear. I went to a seconds/charity clothing store around here earlier today. I actually went to look for maternity trousers, only to find they didn't have any, but came away with some girl clothes for 9-12 months, even thought I don't know what I am having . If I am having a boy, I will ebat the stuff, but they were too much of a bargain to pass up, but they had no small baby or boy stuff this time. Oh well!

ceebee74 · 17/05/2008 20:34

Willmouse - what a day you have had although I bet DH was more upset about the football than Rosie's washing machine!! BTW, my washing machine is only a year old and it takes 2 hours to do a 40 degree wash - is that a long time?

Have had a lazy day today - went to aerobics this morning then have not left the house since I had a 90-minute nap when DS did this afternoon and then just lounged around watching the football.

Am now waiting for DH to come home - he has been playing cricket today and his journey home is 30 minutes and he hasn't even set off yet fgs! Am fed up of thinking of meals that can be cooked seperately or kept hot as there is no way I can wait until after 9 for my tea.

Anyway, rant over - hope you are all having a good evening

DH has just rung to say they have literally just finished the match - I didn't realise cricket games went on till 8.45pm

HumphreysCorner · 17/05/2008 21:42

willmouse-you need to out the washer. Don't think I could use an exes washer (not that DH had one as I was his first girlfriend ) Mine is fairly new due to old one packing up but a 40 degree was takes 1 hr 35 mins. Have it on an Eco setting though.

Heartmum-lol at you buying girls clothes. I will probably be the same with boys things.

belgianbun-surely you musn't take it any more. Poor you. Chin up eh.

ChocEclair-won't be long now I'm sure. When can you test?

ceebee-perhaps they play cricket in the dark nowadays.

Waves to everyone else.

Hope you are all having a good Sunday

HC - just out of interest, if I conceived this baby on the day I ovulated (which the dates seem to confirm I did) - according to your book, is it more likely to be a boy or a girl?

x

HumphreysCorner · 18/05/2008 16:49

ceebee-if you do the deed exactly on OV day it should be a boy. Well, that is what I am hoping is going to happen. The book said the women has to 'O'first which creates some resistance to female sperm and allows the men through. The man has to save the load up for at least 3 days (DH only managed 2 ). So if you did the opposite anything could happen. At least with you doing the deed on OV day we can doubly check the theory.

Having some wine as hoping it will be the last for a while.

Waves to everyone else on this lovely, sunny day.

hi ladies

BB - sounds awful! I was thinking I might try pre-seed if we don't get pg this month. Might think twice now!

Hope you are not too down about ttc, I have felt the same at various points over the last 4 months. I know you have been ttc a bit longer than that. It WILL happen for you soon I am sure. Keep your chin up . Keep posting on here as we will worry about you if you disappear xx

Hope everyone else is OK and has had a nice weekend!

I am shattered for some reason! (hoping this is a sign!?!?)

CE xx

Bellie · 18/05/2008 18:55

Hello all - hope the weekend has been good for you.

It rained all day yesterday but it didn't seem to spoil the party - one dd very hyper on sugar arrived home with butterflies painted on her face!

willmouse - has dh recovered yet? Sorry to hear about your washing machine although at how long your cycles take. 31 mins here for a 40 wash. Good job you didn't stay out though!

ceebee - at how long cricket matches take - is this how it is for the whole summer?

BB - gald to hear that you are ok - although about you being allergic to preseed. I know you were really looking forward to using it (iykwim). Fingers crossed for you though xx

HC - you never know what glass will be your last

cd 25 here - nothing to report (although am slightly hopeful at the complete lack of any symptom !!!! ). Have decided that I will test on Friday (cd 30) to see before holiday.. You lot will be the first to know as dh will be on a plane back from the states!

Also - does anyone know of a seasickness tablet etc that you can have if you are pregnant? Just in case, as I get really sick on boats and have to go on a boat for 2.5 hours to go on holiday sat! - colour of me on boat!

HumphreysCorner · 18/05/2008 19:19

Ooh Bellie, the first of the testers. Lots of luck. Don't envy you on the boat and don't know about sea sickness tablets-sorry. Hope you have alovely time. We go away on the 27th so hoping to test just before we go but it may be too early.

ooo bellie! Do you usually have 30 day cycles? Am excited for you! Fingers crossed xx

I usually take Boots own brand tablets but I am not sure if you can take when pg. sorry. They also make you very sleepy so might not be the best option!

HC - 27th is a week on Tuesday is it? I might follow you on the 28th Wednesday. I was thinking about it today! We go away on the Thursday night/Friday morning. Fingers crossed for you aswell! You would be very lucky to catch the egg on 1st attempt!

I bet we don't last that long though! LOL

I meant to say earlier that my 40 degree quick wash is only 55 mins. It's a Hotpoint and has been very good (7 yrs old).

Bellie · 18/05/2008 19:34

Arrgh!! I am going to be away for the two of you testing!!! How will I be able to wait unitl you get back???

Cycles are usually 30 - 34 days so a little bit early I guess, although my last 4 cycles have been 30, 31, 30 and 29 so if it follows will be about right!

HumphreysCorner · 18/05/2008 19:42

Lol-took a year to conceive DD1 and 3 months for both the MC baby and DD2 so not holding my breath. Just winding DH up that he has super sperm. He said he will be miffed if I am PG as he hasn't had any practice.

ceebee74 · 18/05/2008 19:48

HC - thanks for the info - I think we BD'd either side of OV day butnot actually on Ov day so I assume it was the sperm from the day before that did it - and as we were going for the 'every other day' method, DH had not abstained! Lol at your DH grumbling cos he hasn't got any practice in

Bellie/CE - am so excited for you both - it must be someone's turn to get a BFP as the last one was Majormoo and that was ages ago now!

Am making the most of one of the better pg symtpoms and giving myself a french manicure - but it is SO fiddly!! Last time my nails were long enough to do it was when I was pg with DS and I love having long nails - I spend my life pursuing products to make them strong - turns out all I need is to be pg

HumphreysCorner · 18/05/2008 19:53

Hazel C-F insists that 1 day before OV is likely to be a girlie and also 2 days after OV. I still think what will be will be but am having fun trying the theory.

Agree that we need some more graduates.

Oooh so it might be a girl then - that is the second 'sign' I have had that it is pink

Do tell ceebee-what is the first sign then?????????
