Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

OMG munnzeib. So sorry Nightmare. I bet that hospital woman knew she'd spoken to you! I'd be furious! Any reason given? So so sorry about the massive disappointment.

RudyDudy · 24/01/2005 16:40

Munnzie and on your behalf. How infuriating is that?! I'd be livid. You poor thing - just harass them every opportunity you get until they sort you a new appointment. So sorry about the disappointment. I recommend a LARGE bar of Dairy Milk pronto.

Mariella and Minnie - sorry about AF

munnzieb · 24/01/2005 16:57

well, thanks for the choc Rudy, i've had a go at the woman in the hosp, and also rang our dr, but I have to ring back tomorrow when he's not in surgery. I'm sooo wound up about it, and DH was gonna come with me as well, I expect by the time I get it now i'll be PG, do u think theres anything else I can do? I'm not really on for ringing them everyweek for an apt, but I may well need to inorder to be seen b4 May. (and it's not like i've only got one OV or anything and god knows what other bloody gyno probs down there,) and .... and... top cap it all off.... yes theres more, (MIL is staying until tomorrow now, and also it cost me 21p for the pee pot in boots...... yes 21 whole pence, what a cheek! I don't even need it now!)

sazzlealsop · 24/01/2005 17:02

cori · 24/01/2005 17:21

Hi everyone, I have been hanging around the trying to concieve thread for a while. SO I hope no one minds me making my announcement here. I got a positive pregnancy test yesterday. We have been ttc for seven months, I was very shocked that we concieved last month as I was really ill, so there wasnt much BD. ANyway havent told anyone else yet not even DH as am trying to keep a secret and make announcement on Friday as it is our 9th wedding anniversary.

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 17:32

Congratulations cori! What a great way to celebrate your anniversary

cori · 24/01/2005 17:47

Thanks for all your support. Even though have been an intermittent poster, was helpful to know others were going through the same stressful times every month. Baby Dust to all.
PS Have a box of ovulation tests and some pregnancy test from medisave if anyone wants them CAT me ( hope i am not jinxing myself by giving them away to soon)

cori · 24/01/2005 17:48

Yes , Just have to keep it a secret for five days.

wendy11 · 24/01/2005 17:50

Can anyone give me some advice on OPK's. I have been testing for the last two days - currently CD11. This morning the test was a -ve but the two lines were nearly the same colour so I decided to test again this afternoon and the two lines are now the same colour, so does this mean that ovulation wil probably take place in the next 48 hours or should I test again in the morning to check. I feel like I am becoming a OPK test junkie.

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:13

Wendy11 - BD NOW ! AS OVULATION WILL TAKE PLACE 24-48 HOURS AND THE SPERMS ARE BETTER IN PLACE WAITING FOR THE EGG TO COME !!I have used OPK's for several months and I think they can be a bit unreliable - but if you combine this method with CM (ie: Wait for 2 lines on OPK and CM favourable too) this is best way of conceiving. Apparently the CM method id very reliable - Dr told me this and Hester (on this thread a lot is expert too) Good Luck !!!!

Sazzlealsop - welcome ! When I was pg with DS very early on I thought AF was due - except the pains (cramps) wre not as severe as a real AF and I don't think I felt as irratable. Also my boobs wre enlarged and stiffish - nipples also sensitive. Can't reallt say, however that the early pg symptons are any different from AF symptoms which is the crap thing about TTC. Many times in the last few months I have been sooo convinced I was pg only for AF to pay a visit - hope this helps !!

Bloody Hell Munzie what crap !!! 6 months !!!!! If I were you I would ring every week until you get a cancellation and tell them you can't cope with waiting as it is causing you pschological damage !!!! You have been waiting ling enough !!!

CD29 for me and STLL no AF - Bought tester first response - trying to hang in there but don't think I can. Thanks for your support ladies - have very odd sick and cramp feeling totally unlike AF but keep thinking should last out till week-end ! Help Please !!!!!!!!!

Jeddah when you have a minute from BD can you give me some advice from one old duffer to another !!! PS: do you know where Hester is ????

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:17

So sorry Yingers just read your post- (hugs) !!!

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 18:18

cori - have CAT you.

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:20

Hula, Rudy are we all in the same boat ??? Sickening isn't it ??? Shall we all hold out till Sat ? Don't think I can !!!

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 18:21

Looks like it - all be nervously hanging on all week!!! I still have AF cramping though, so don't think I will have such a long wait. Mind you, at least one good thing from this cycle - I did find out that I did OV - regardless on what FF said before

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:27

Surpised about FF H, thought it was supposed to be very relaible ! I only got very faint line on OPK but at same time got EWCM - so have no idea whether I OV'd, but last moth I had EWCM much nlater than the 2 lines on OPK so I give up - I was thinking of using predictor as well - soooo trying isn't it.

To make matter worse, a friend of mine who is OLDER than me, decided on a wim to stop minipill went on holiday BD oONCE and is now pg. How CRAP is that !!

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:30

PS She has 3 kids already and was soooooo surprised she was pg - found it hard to be pleasnt as she know's I've been TTC for 7 months and so I felt she rubbed it in - but probably just paraniod - sorry to rant !!!

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 18:55

No idea about FF's reliability - I guess it is still all down to the right temping and human error!

I temp each morning and record temps and CM on FF. First two month's it determined OV, second lot of 2 months, it failed to find OV. This month it did find OV - but maybe as I had put in OPK results.

wendy11 · 24/01/2005 19:10

Marinda,
Thanks for your comments. I am relatively new to all this testing, although looks like it could be a long drawn out process for us ttc. Oh well off for some BD

jeddah · 24/01/2005 20:02

munz....I am so angry for you I can hardly type. What reason did they give you!???????????????

marinda....what duffer advice do you want!???

doen't know where young Hester is??? not heard?

I CATed her a couple of days ago and not heard??

wendy11.......stop reading this thread and get to it! now!!

RudyDudy · 24/01/2005 21:15

Cori - congratulations! What a lovely anniversary present. I hope you manage to keep your secret until Friday. God, that will be tough! I hope you're a more patient person than me, I'm sure I'd crack by Wednesday! Are you planning on wrapping up a positive test? Or do you have something else up your sleeve??? Oh, do tell! 2BFPs today - how lovely

Wendy - hello and welcome. I'm afraid I know very little about OPKs though it does sound promising for you! Good luck

Marinda / Hula - should we have a 'we promise not to test until Saturday' pact? Do you think you could do it? I'll be amazed if I can but am up for giving it a go! Or at least until Thursday (12dpo) - I am thinking of testing then as I have a night out planned after my last exam and it would be good to know. Though of course an early BFN wouldn't be much help.

Munnzie - how you doing honey? Thinking of you (((hugs)))

Hester - where are you????? Hope you're okay honey! We miss you - come and chat with us!!!

RudyDudy · 24/01/2005 21:17

Sorry - forgot to say hello to you Jedds. How rude

Hope you're having a busy couple of days . Good luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you and looking forward to hearing how you get on.

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 21:30

I am going to try my best to hold out as long as possible. I am only 11DPO anyway right now. But AF symptoms continue

RudyDudy · 24/01/2005 21:35

Fingers crossed it isn't AF hula.

velcrobott · 24/01/2005 21:36

I'd like to hear what your experiences are of OV tests, I bought sticks and I have had hormonal problems and so "officially" I am ovulating all the time... I keep testing positive (so must have a high LH level - which is what the tests measure).

Do you "feel" any different when you ar OV? I am CD16 (I am proud to say as I had not had an AF in nearly 6 months).... and I felt period pains for half a day and wondered if it could be a sign of OV... no egg white I am afraid....

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 21:38

I get a cramping pain around the time of OV. Sometimes quite painful, on and off - but only for half a day max.

I also look out for changes in CM. Egg white texture is the most fertile, Watery CM is also a good sign.
