I'm not feeling very positive about this cycle... Today is predicted ovulation day according to Flo (which was accurate last month) but I have zero EWCM or other ovulation symptoms. DTD on tues/weds/yesterday and will probably try to do today and tomorrow, but not very hopeful - wondering if the chemical last month disrupted things.

My CP/MC disrupted things massively for me. Gave me peak OPK on CD30 (usually have 32 day cycles). Didn’t get my period until CD46 (think we missed the sex boat because I didn’t expect to be ovulating so late, I only did an LH strip by chance because I saw EWCM).

FWIW, CB digital opk gave me a positive reading on CD13 last month which I think was HCG so… be kind to yourself whilst your body sorts itself out!

I would try using LH strips if you can. your cycle this month might be off - mine was all over the place and took me 6 weeks to bounce back 🫶

@LucyCL when we were TTC #1 I found BBT to be really reliable, which I took orally and then charted on Premom and Fertility Friend. I’m going to disregard my RHR for now and assume I’m ovulating! If in a few months time we’re still not having any luck I might do BBT again x

romeosierra9 · 23/06/2024 08:49

6th month TTC and only managed to DTD once during fertile days, any hints or tips for helping hubby preform?! Although we have a great time often, the fact we need him to finish during those days seems to make him unable too! (He's fully in to and committed to starting this next journey before anyone says that!)

Kudos to anyone who doesn't have this issue!

Do you have other ways to track ovulation? BBT ? LH strips? I find them really useful.

Has anyone experienced a BBT dip before ovulation? If yes and it is possible, I would like to see your charts please. I think I had a BBT dip this morning. Because I am using 3 apps to track BBT for the first time, seeing this BBT dip on all apps is surprising.

Yeah I think that's typical, this is mine at the moment, although I'm quite surprised as I usually ovulate later at around day 18! Not sure what's going on with my body 😂

@Joleyjojo Thanks for sharing! So it is correct that BBT will rise sharply within 1 -2 days after the dip.
@RaineyNina Ovulating slightly earlier than usual could be caused by many things. I wish I could tell you but I also don't have a clue. For example, MCs delayed my ovulation 2 days later. Also the vitamin supplements I took such as Vitamin b6 and E might be the cause of my late ovulation. This cycle I will ovulate earlier because I stopped taking vitamin b6 and E and it is not affected by a CP (It happened last cycle). 😂Or you are feeling super relaxed? My point is is for this cycle have you done something different compared to the past cycles?

I am sharing my BBT charts. 😀

I personally don’t tell my OH when it’s important to ‘finish’. He has no clue when I’m in my FW, we just aim to DTD a couple of times a week, and I know when I’m ovulating, so that week I just try to influence things so that we DTD as close as possible to O day. I think it puts too much pressure on if they know a specific time counts more than others x

RaineyNina · 23/06/2024 17:36

@LucyCL I'm not sure, I've recently started getting acupuncture so I'm thinking maybe it could be that working its magic? Also went gluten free about a month ago as I have endometriosis, so could also be that taking effect on all the inflammation. Over the last year natural cycles has picked up my ovulation day between day 16 and 21. This cycle it looks to be cycle day 13 if my temp remains high over next couple of days, to be honest I'm hoping I have ovulated already as I thought we were going to miss my fertile window with him working away! 🤞

Wow! I am happy for you! Finally you are about to enter 2WW whereas I am still waiting. 😄

Thanks- although not all good news as my temperate still hasn’t risen. It didn’t rise either last month, I think I’m going to take a step back next month from testing as I’m driving myself crazy 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hopefully I’m DPO 1? I think 😂

how are you doing, any updates?

This is a really good idea- my DH has struggled with this knowing that it’s important… I will try this next month!

Where are you up to in your cycle? I’ve just started the TWW (I think..) and I’m impatient already.

SummerSun24 · 23/06/2024 20:22

Hi all! TTC#2 cycle 3 of OPks but no BC since Feb. Fell pregnant first time round last time and oh boy did I take it for granted!!

Also struggling with a short lutal phase @DaisyEM @RaindropsOnRoses22 @RhubarbCrumble12345 , I've had one that's been 8 days and absolutely shockingly short last month at 6 days I was gutted. Taking b6 and vitamin b complex to try to help lengthen it but DC1 still BF at night and I've heard prolactin can suppress progesterone! However my period were short first time round (I never tracked with OPKs so can't say for sure) so I think I've always had it and was just extremely lucky last time. In any case my TWW is more of a OWW so at least it goes round a bit faster.

Took a break from the threads last month as was super down by the 6 day LP but I'm in my overly optimistic phase of the cycle and it's nice to read others doing through the same thing. CD 17 still waiting for peak, but have BD today and Friday just incase.

Mine also dips slightly before the sharp rise, these are my last 3 cycles.

Another BFN this morning, 9dpo, but it wasn't first thing in the morning.

Fingers crossed for you that this is your cycle! ☺️ I also seem to ovulate really late, CD22 this month. It’s my first full cycle since coming off the pill in April, so not sure if I’m still regulating. I’m CD23 now (or DPO 1?! - so many acronyms) so will see when AF arrives... is there anything you can take to help with a short luteal phase?

SummerSun24 · 23/06/2024 20:36

The research is quite limited @MaryMax but most say b6 high dose (100mg) with vitamin b complex supports progesterone production, also see food things about Angus castus but not tried that one myself. What was positive though was that over the normal 12 month period when most normal couples would conceive it doesn't effect your over all chance if getting pregnant or something like that 😊 many people do!

The acronyms took me a while to get used to as well ha

We fell pregnant first time round too, so while this is only our second cycle ttc #2, I'm getting impatient already.

Mine's been 6 days the but my cycles have been sporadic since having my DS anyway. I started taking vitamin B a few weeks ago and I'm currently 8DPO, although FF keeps changing it's mind about which day I ovulated, but hopefully I'm around that mark, which feels like a step in the right direction.

I was still BF my DS once a day when my cycle (sort of) returned, and I've now finished BF altogether so hoping that lengthens my LP too.

Currently I am close to ovulation and it will happen in 3 days (based on my CB fertility monitor and a BBT dip this morning). I am supposed to feel happier however I have been feeling blah. (I had a CP last cycle and this is the 2nd one) I will get over it soon.
Good luck to you!!

9 dpo is still a bit early so you might see a super faint line tomorrow afternoon? As long as your AF is absent, there is always hope!

@LucyCL thank you! Feeling really positive this month not sure why, but temp still up this morning and sore boobs (but I always get this!).. off I go to do another test!

Has anyone had short periods and generally short cycle and been able to increase it with any treatment? Since having my IUD removed my periods have been under 2 days but were always been 3-4 before.
