On teas, heard from a friend who is pregnant and was told to avoid herbal teas including mint and camomile in the first trimester. But I agree there is a lot of conflicting info on Google! Camomile tea has been mentioned among those possibly causing uterine contractions so theoretically (though very unlikely) could mess with implantation. Peppermint tea is only mentioned as best to avoid in large quantities in the first trimester. But I am sure it is just a precaution, and an odd cup or two of peppermint tea or even camomile tea won't harm anyone but I admit I consume much more though, as many as 4-6 cups of herbal teas a day.

The NHS says 1-2 cups of any herbal teas won't make a difference in early pregnancy.

I'm trying not to get carried away with myself, but one of my first pregnancy symptoms (that lasted all through the 1st trimester) with my son was extreme hunger, and I've had it all day today, despite eating normally. I'm 8DPO so think I'll test tomorrow. I've convinced myself I'm pregnant now 🙄

First of all a massive congratulations to everyone who has got their BFP this month ❤️

Secondly, I’m not very clued up about ovulation so am very confused by my OPKs! I got the Premom app and ovulation tests as advised previously and have been testing 3 x daily. I started to get a bit of a darker line this morning but then tonight it was much lighter again! I’ve attached a pic for reference. I didn’t bother uploading half of the tests as the line was so faint. Shouldn’t my LH levels rise steadily until peak or can they fluctuate? Have I peaked within the few hours between tests?

DaisyEM · 22/07/2024 20:32

@MrsB902 looking at those levels I would say highly unlikely that you've peaked and missed it. I tend to get readings of around 0.60-0.80 when the rise begins and then above 1 for actual peak. Your lines are still super faint so need to keep testing. FYI I personally only test once a day, and then maybe twice when my OPKs start getting a lot darker (reading above 0.60) x

lavafield · 22/07/2024 20:36

@MrsB902 I agree it is possible you haven't got your peak yet. How long is your cycle typically? This month, my LH levels fluctuated exactly like this, all in the low category, around CD13-15, then I got my peak suddenly on CD16 and it stayed at "high" levels for about 20 hours after that. I would say keep testing? Unlikely you missed it if you test 3 times a day!

MrsB902 · 22/07/2024 20:45

Thanks ladies, is it normal to fluctuate like that though? It’s my first month tracking with this app and I was thinking my levels would steadily rise. Maybe I’m testing too much! My cycle tends to be between 25-30 days and I’m currently on CD15. I’m feeling a bit baffled! I think I missed my peak last month too as didn’t get a fully positive reading so I’m paranoid I’m not ovulating.

DaisyEM · 22/07/2024 20:57

@MrsB902 yes totally normal, some days I might get a reading of 0.17 for example, next day 0.38 etc, those are all low readings and things like how concentrated your urine is etc will make it go up and down, but ultimately, it's not rising, so not at your peak yet x

DaisyEM · 22/07/2024 21:00

@MrsB902 here's mine from this month if it helps x

Thank you, I’ll just keep testing then. I don’t remember it being this stressful last time round 🤣 xx

DaisyEM · 22/07/2024 21:34

@MrsB902 did you do OPKs last time? I’m being much more chilled about TTC this time, but then again I’m only on month two, compared to 8 months of trying for #1 😅

MrsB902 · 22/07/2024 21:52

Yeah I used them last time but felt like it was dead straightforward in terms of getting positive results. It’s month 2 this time round for us too and I told myself I’d be more chilled but apparently not 🤣 it took us a year the first time round so hoping it’ll be a little quicker this time which is why I’m panicking slightly! Best of luck lovely and thanks for you advice xx

DaisyEM · 23/07/2024 07:33

I was so sure I would have a suuuper faint line on a test this morning, but stark white 😖 still only 9DPO though

DaisyEM · 23/07/2024 07:43

@MrsB902 i feel like it’ll be quicker for us this time too, not sure why given that I was almost 5 years younger last time 😅 hopefully we do find it doesn’t take as long this time around for both of us 🤞🏼

kathrynoaa · 23/07/2024 08:02

Hi everyone,

I've been watching this thread for a couple of weeks, waiting for ovulation to come! We're TTC baby 1, and on cycle 2. Although this is our first cycle where I'm using LH tests. Not yet tracking BBT - I dont want to overwhelm myself too early on. I'm on CD13 and have regular cycles of 30 days.

I wondered if anyone had much experience with the clear blue tests (purple ones)? I've been using both these and the easy @ home ones with the premom app, testing every morning and evening since my period finished.

I think I ovulate around CD14 most months based on what I've inputted into Flo for the past few years, and often get ovulation pain around then. Today is CD13 so am expecting ovulation. However, I'm confused by the LH tests!

Yesterday morning I got the circle on the clear blue tests, and this morning it was a solid smiley so no flashing smiley in between. I know LH can rise fast so would assume I'd have got flashing later in the day yesterday.

The bit that is then confusing me though is that the easy @ home test this morning was pretty dark, but still shows as 'low', despite the graph predicting my peak will be later today. (The graph after yesterdays tests predicted ovulation CD23 so its come forwards a lot!).

I've attached some photos of my LH strips so far, the premom graph, and this mornings tests.

Does anyone have any experience of the clear blue tests identifying peak a lot sooner than other tests? Or does anyone have experience of the premom app going from low to peak very rapidly (within a 12hr window as mine is predicting)?

@DaisyEM I really hope it is just still too early for you!
I also had nothing but stark white at 11DPO this morning. Looks like I am out this month!

lavafield · 23/07/2024 08:13

Hi @kathrynoaa !
I would say your Premom test from today shows LH is starting to rise nicely and the peak may follow soon. Keep testing today! But it is a bit strange that 0.7 is still showing as low for you, I was getting "high" readings for 0.6 with similar lines, but that was after my peak of 1. I don't use other tests though.

Lovedatforme · 23/07/2024 09:28

@DaisyEM 9DPO is still early, hoping something will show up for you soon!

@kathrynoaa I've never used the clear blue tests, only premom ones. But from your pic of the premom ones it looks like it's rising today, keep testing today as you might get your peak later. Wishing you the best.

Lisa3192 · 23/07/2024 10:00

Hi, guys I am 9 dpo today, can you see any second line on my test?

kathrynoaa · 23/07/2024 10:31

@lavafield @Lovedatforme thank you both! That's really encouraging to hear, I'll take another as soon as I'm home from work

DaisyEM · 23/07/2024 16:43

@Lisa3192 so sorry but I can’t see anything. I’m 9DPO today too x

DaisyEM · 23/07/2024 16:45

@lavafield thanks 💜 according to google, it takes 3-4 days for HGC to build up to detectable levels, and most common implantation is 8-9 DPO, so based on that you could still go on to get a BFP, but then again, I’m over here at 9DPO and testing negative, and assuming I’m out too!

DaisyEM · 23/07/2024 16:45

@Lovedatforme thanks ☺️ I’m undecided as to whether to test again or just wait to see if AF shows on Friday x

Lovedatforme · 23/07/2024 17:59

Lisa3192 · 23/07/2024 10:00

Hi, guys I am 9 dpo today, can you see any second line on my test?

Sorry I can't see anything, maybe try again tomorrow or the next day?

@DaisyEM I have no patience at all with testing, I can't resist. Let us know how you get on x

lavafield · 23/07/2024 18:16

@DaisyEM I did have some cramps that were a bit stronger than usual before AF on 9-11 DPO. My period isn't due till Sunday so maybe there is still hope 😂

I won't be able to resist testing every morning 🙄

Good luck those still waiting / testing this month.

@Lisa3192 sorry, no line on your test but it is still early!

DaisyEM · 23/07/2024 18:28

@lavafield I think there definitely is! AF is due Friday for me as my LP is on the shorter side, so not long to wait to see if it turns up for me!
