Thought it was time we had a new home, seeing as we've almost outgrown the old one. So in honour to Scorpio, Sybil, BB and toomuch (hope I didn't forget anyone ) here we are - in the company of pregnant (and cheerful) ladies

Hope you don't have long to wait Scorpio.

Toomuch Lots of hugs. Hope you feel better soon.

Good luck with the HSG tomorrow, Gilly . I was told that I'd have to wait for the hospital to contact me and then I'd need to ring them at the start of my cycle - she was a bit vague about how long that might take so hope there's not too much of a waiting list.

MT Belated happy birthday to MT junior.

Ready and Nomore Your pram shopping, well, playing sounds fun - you sound braver than me!

Well, I am officially an idiot. I found an acupuncturist who is about 5 minutes from my house and she's had some experience working with couples / women with fertility issues. (DH was a bit cynical and muttered something about placebo effect and as long as I wasn't expecting him to come along, he didn't really care ). We exchanged emails and voicemails and yesterday she sent me an email offering me a couple of times. So, today, I duly trotted off at 5pm, not had too much time to think about the prospect of needles, only to find she didn't turn up. When I rang her after 20 minutes, she said she'd not heard back from me - never mind, email must have got lost in cyberspace. So, having got home, I've just checked my email to realise that although I apologised for not being able to talk to her, I hadn't actually confirmed the time she'd suggested - was literally dashing out of the house so obviously got distracted.

I have managed to fall asleep listening to my hypnotherapy twice now - still not heard the end (probably not helped by being curled up under the duvet!) Might go and listen to it now and see if I can stay awake!

This week not going as planned.

Had a work review yesterday. Had been promised a promotion last summer and had no feedback to suggest that it wasn't coming - but for my first review last summer apparently there were 'issues' that meant they wouldn't promote me. Pressed for a 6 month review of this which they accepted. Had that review - yes, you're doing everything we wanted, carry on and you'll get promoted in the summer. But WHAT AM I DOING WRONG NOW THAT YOU WON'T PROMOTE ME NOW!!!!

Then I had the allergy test today. They only tested paracetamol with the prick test - and it didn't come up which meant that they can't be entirely sure that its paracetamol - however, based on the information that I gave the consultant, he said avoid ibruprofen, nurofen, asprin and codine. In terms of paracetamol, the only thing that they can do now is to do a test whereby they give me a little and increase it gradually up to a full dose and see what happens I explained about seeing the recurrent mc unit (Thurs) and ttc - I can't do the test if I'm pregnant. However, that would potentially mean that I might be pregnant and not able to use any pain killers of any sort!

Then ds a pain this evening - lots of whinging, crying, being not nice - I think he'd probably gone without a nap at nursery and it meant that he was overtired.

So not feeling particularly calm this evening!

(((MT)))
These things are sent to try us aren't they? I just wish they'd not all come together! Hope things get better for you soon xx

((MT)) Employers can be such ar$es can't they! Hope DS is better today after a good nights kip!

((Hobnobs)) Did you manage to book in another appointment? It sounds like the kind of thing I do all of the time!!

Good luck Gilly!! Let us know how you get on

Hey Nomore!! - big wave to everyone else!!

p.s. can't remember who asked - but I'm 12 weeks - had my scan yesterday and all looks good!!

hobnobs · 09/04/2008 11:48

Mistlethrush You poor thing - just hope the week gets better.

Gilly Thinking of you today. Got my letter about the HSG this morning so hopefully should get it done at the start of the next cycle as it's too late for this one.

Toomuch Congrats on the 12 week scan. It must have been great to see the picture.

Well, I finally managed to finish the hypnotherapy CD. Partly as the acupuncturist rang half way through which disrupted the relaxation a bit, but did mean I didn't fall asleep . Must try and listen to it all the way through without dropping off or being interrupted!

I was hoping I'd be able to get the results of my Days 2 - 4 blood tests today. No sign of them at the GP surgery. I had the blood taken at one hospital and the fertilty consultant's at another so no idea where they are though the receptionist did said she'd check with the doctor as to what the normal procedure is. As our follow-up appointment isn't until August (though will hopefully get a cancellation once all the tests are done), I really don't want to wait until then!

Had MW appt today, Millie is as low as she can get, MW can only feel her shoulders!! Feel like everything is active today....wishing i think though.

TooMuch - are you sure you are 12 weeks?!?! congrats on good scan.

mistlethrush · 09/04/2008 15:38

Scorpio - she's not come still? You had us all going last week then! I was very glad when ds arrived early, so I imagine that you're feeling very fed up. Hope that she makes an appearance soon

Thanks for the positive thoughts everyone. Have had a good day so far as I've been on a course so done hardly any work!

Ds wasn't great last night - I think he's having a growth spurt as he's ravenous and very tired. He was too tired to eat properly last night and we had quite a few tears for various reasons - then he woke up several times because he was thirsty - and took himself to the loo at midnight and wanted more water (and a help with wiping!) but he was very impressed this morning as dh and I had put together his playmobil farm (4+ ) that he got for his 3rd birthday last night so that he can play with all of it properly rather than losing all the little connecting bits before we put it together....

Great news about your tubes Gilly Are you sure going away in June is ok? We've been advised not to travel after the IVF (don't know if the fact IVF is more invasive is the reason, but you might want to check with the clinic)
toomuch Can't believe you've seen your baby!

Scorpio Hope you don't have to wait too much longer. After the fastest pg in living memory she's taking her time to arrive!

Didn't mean to put the dampners on your holiday, just thought you might like to ask the clinic for advice. The IVF clinic told us not to travel abroad after the treatment (they told us this on our last visit to make sure we didn't book anything)

I wouldn't go abroad if Pregnant - just really on the basis that, should something go wrong, I would for ever be wondering whether, if I hadn't flown, things might have been different... but that's just me, post mc pre ds... But I do know lots of people that have been fine.

scorpio1 · 10/04/2008 09:20

I went abroad to Menorca at 14 weeks when i was pg with Jamie, but to be fair i don't have a history of mc or difficulties so was fine for me.

I'm due tomorrow

mistlethrush · 10/04/2008 10:21

Come on Millie!!!! Go girl!!! xxx

Ready · 10/04/2008 18:30

Bloody hell Scorpio are you still waiting!

scorpio1 · 11/04/2008 11:24

Happy due date to me,

PiggyPenguin · 11/04/2008 13:37

Happy due date Scorpio! I don't think I know anyone whose baby actually arrived on their due date - maybe you will be the one!

I am going out for dinner tonight with a group of mums for a friends fortieth and it is going to be exhausting! I will also be the only one sober by ten o'clock which may well be very amusing if a little bit annoying...

poppy75 · 11/04/2008 13:59

Hello guys - have been lurking for a while. Looks like so much is happening, can't remember if I knew that toomuch was prg!!! And Scorpio due!! How exciting the year has just flown by.

I had HSG - no problems and now have started on clomid! Anyone else in same situation? Or has anyone had any positive experiences with clomid? Would love to hear if you have as need some cheering up.

Good luck with those babies ladies and am sprinkling more baby dust on the thread

nomoremagnolia · 11/04/2008 14:39

I took 6 months of Clomid but it didn't work for me (don't know if that's what you wanted to herar really..) Ask me any q's if you like though

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 11/04/2008 14:40

Hi Poppy, hope Clomid goes well. Just been told that there is no reason for mc - and that their usual treatment options - asprin or hormones - aren't available due to allergy and past history!

nomoremagnolia · 11/04/2008 14:40

It was positive in that it made me ov though - although according to the scan I had yesterday at the IVF clinic I'm capable of doing that myself

OP posts:
poppy75 · 11/04/2008 18:57

Good news nomore about your ovulation - clomid seems to be an unknown quantity really, hopefully it will do the trick .

mistlethrush it is all so frustrating at times when did you have your mc?

kensgirl · 12/04/2008 10:46

Hi there! sorry I've not been around for a bit, my laptop wouldn't power up, but its fixed now. Dh is out for the day today, at Twickenham so I have the day to spend with my mum and sister so that should be lovely!

Great news about the IVF starting this cycle Nomore, I have everyhting crossed for you, those 11 weeks will fly by...

Good news on your scan Toomuch, you can start to relax a bit now,

Hi there gilly! I have incredibly lax on the shopping front and so far only have the pram ordered and the moses basket . I have bought a few little outfis, and some baby toiletries, oh, and a steriliser... I'm curently looking for a cot, either walnut or ivory, with a drop side, but can't find one yet. glad to hear your treatment is moving forward too xx

I''m glad you have the wise decision toreturn to the Bug, Ready, and agree with what you say about the ease of it to use, I too compared it to the Silver Cross and the Stokke Xplory.

Scorpio...I can't believe you are still here!! I thought I would be wishing you belated congratulations, not too long now. Maybe.

I'm 26 weeks now, and so far have gained a huge bump but only about 9 or 10 pounds in weight, so not too bad. I'll have to get dh to take some bump shots to keep, so far I don't have even one. Like Sybil, I'm hoping for a smallish to average size, not too eye poppingly big, it already feels like a bowling ball, but my mum is convinced its going to be a fat litle baby boy

Hope eeveryone is Ok , sorry if I missed anyone x
