Thought it was time we had a new home, seeing as we've almost outgrown the old one. So in honour to Scorpio, Sybil, BB and toomuch (hope I didn't forget anyone ) here we are - in the company of pregnant (and cheerful) ladies

BellaBear · 29/05/2008 13:43

oh gilly I'm sorry. Still hoping and fingers crossed.

nomoremagnolia · 29/05/2008 15:00

Oh gilly love, big hugs. Isn't it horrible when you get someone who just bursts your bubble like that? I really hope you get +opk on fri or sun, then you can show them just how fab your lining and eggs can be!!

I'm feeling ok at the moment, don't know if that's because the sedation's still in my system or whether I got off lightly. Only time will tell.

toomuchtimeonline · 29/05/2008 16:19

Oh gilly hope the timing still works out for you - crossing everything!

nomore I must be psychic as I haven't had time to come on in ages and then I got an overwhelming urge yesterday

p.s. in answer to the questions - I'm doing fine - 20 week scan is next week so I'm very excited!!

p.p.s rubbing the belly for you all - I've lurked a couple of times to keep an eye on you all - I can't wait till you all announce you bfps!

scorpio1 · 29/05/2008 16:19

nomoremagnolia · 29/05/2008 16:26

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 29/05/2008 16:32

toomuch can't believe you're approaching 20 wks already You're halfway there!! Are you going to find out if it's a boy or girl? Have you done any shopping yet

OP posts:
toomuchtimeonline · 29/05/2008 17:10

yes double adorable scorpio

nomore - I am indeed going to find out whether it is blueberry or strawberry flavoured - we both think it is blueberry - don't know why... Don't mind either way though!

No real shopping yet but lots of lists and virtual shopping.. can't decide on anything... said I'd wait till after the 20 week scan so I'm going to go and buy the cutest blue or pink babygro next week once I know to start me off

How are you feeling?

nomoremagnolia · 29/05/2008 17:26

Feeling a bit tender but not as bad as the period cramps I used to get when I was younger (before going on the pill) Am worried I've got off too lightly and the 'real' pain is waiting to get me later on.
Can I knit your baby something? What would you like?

Hey everyone, sorry to hear you had a horrible scan-person Gilly, this happened to me when I had 20 week scans with first two babies. I got the horrible woman who never tells you the sex even though they are meant too and is really dismissive - I found it very upsetting so sympathise. Sending lots of positive vibes your way for that +opk on the right day.

Toomuch - I can't believe you are nearly 20 weeks already, that's so exciting!

Nomore - Glad everything is going well and not too painful. Keep thinking fertile thoughts!

scorpio1 · 29/05/2008 20:06

toomuch - wow 20 weeks! any names? i loooooove Dexter for a boy. its mine if i have anymore [stern face]

mistlethrush · 29/05/2008 21:20

Gilly - fingers crossed for Friday or Sunday. Sorry you got someone not nice. Haven't ever had that experience - bad scans either didn't have anything said (scary, particularly when followed by a 5 hr wait to see a Dr) or had consultant turn up within 3 mins (you know then that its not great news). Early scans with ds in EPU all with lovely people.

Feeling very blue at the moment. Don't know what dh is thinking about in terms of ttc or not. Secretary at work full of it, not being remotely politic about the whole thing - going on maternity leave next Friday ie about 2 weeks before I would have been if things had turned out differently. And yet things were so different when I was pregnant with ds there - as a colleague had a mc after I had told everyone that I was expecting (at 14wks). I tried to keep everything as low-key as possible - didn't invite people out, didn't show scan pictures all round the office, and certainly didn't have them as a screen saver...

Sorry girls. Rant over.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself as have had a cold and could really do with something for a headache, but, of course, am not allowed to take anything unless I want to end up in A&E...

Mind you, hopefully will be feeling a bit better shortly - holiday starts tomorrow.

scorpio1 · 29/05/2008 21:30

there is nothing worse than other people and their ttc/pgs etc. And men are useless and often even nasty about ttc. I had to fight dh for 18 months to ttc millie, which took 6 months. We nearly split up because of it.

will he not commit to ttc? Why? Men i find often get scared by the thought.

MT - I agree with Scorpio that men are really bad at deciding to ttc. Dh and I had the 'should we have another child' debate for about three years before we got pg with this one, and in the end it was only because I got pg accidently (although then had a mc) that he decided he did want another baby.

Gilly, I also sympathise with how hard it is when others are pg (although realise that I am also guilty of this at present, and promise to talk about it less). The day I was due to give birth to the baby we lost we went to a birthday party with a heavily pg woman there. I couldn't even look at her and spent the whole time on the verge of tears.

So, much love and hugs to everyone. At least we have each other, god I love mumsnet some times.

scorpio1 · 30/05/2008 10:24

See sometimes i feel i shouldnt come here and talk about it, i dont want to upset anyone on their low days iyswim.

I think of you all often you know, iwish i could help. there is not a more deserving group of ladies IMO.
