Anyone doing letrozole and trigger in Feb/Mar

TrainIsMoving · 11/02/2024 23:34

I'm CD7, this is my first time doing letrozole and trigger with follicle monitoring. Anyone in the same position? I have a history of repeated miscarriages so have a lot of other issues to track but I'd love to exchange experiences with people in similar boat. TIA

@JadeCat I am going to do hycosy this month. I am also going to keep going with letrozole. Likely I will also start IVF in 2-3 months. I'm just going to keep going with letrozole until the doctor gives me a green light. I'll find out more at initial consultation in May. Excited but also scared. I guess we will be in the same position. Keep me posted and feel free to dm me.

@SadieBarts I'm so sorry to hear IVF was difficult journey. It is so hard with PCOS, overstimulation and the pain/bloatedness seems terrible.

How are you doing? Hope you're keeping up well.

As for me, AF is here today, so a sign of relief that it's here on time and we go another time. A bit scared of hycosy next week. Have you ever done it? X

@TrainIsMoving Hi. Is a hycosy the same as a hysteroscopy?

I'm feeling super anxious, like stressing and very emotional. Got period pains as well pretty sure that's me out. 4 more days until official test day. Think I'll actually test in 2, if its negative on day 10 at least I know its a no and I won't be super anxious all weekend. I can just get over it instead.

TrainIsMoving · 01/05/2024 21:20

@SadieBarts no they inject dye and see if anything is blocked on the ultrasound. I'm just going to spend a month or two doing some investigations before IVF.

Honestly day 8 and 9 gives me a lot of anxiety. I think what you're experiencing is normal. It's such a cruel period and symptoms are not enough to know unfortunately.

@TrainIsMoving Sprry I got my hysteroscoy and HSG mixed up, think that is same as Hycosy or similar. I had HSG with dye in fallopian tubes. Wasn't painful at all, but my tunes were clear. Just felt like a needed a wee when they put the fluid inside.

JadeCat · 02/05/2024 08:25

@SadieBarts I’ve got everything crossed for you. Can’t imagine how nerve wracking the TWW is after an FET. It’s all so bloody hard with so much riding on it. Do what feels best for you re testing early.

@TrainIsMoving I had to do a HSG test for IVF investigations last cycle it was fine, and the nurses were really nice about everything. I did feel a bit queasy afterwards so have a sit down and a chill afterwards. Hope it goes well.

SadieBarts · 03/05/2024 07:39

I tested this morning and it's a no, I'm on day 10 so think that's the final answer 😔

TrainIsMoving · 03/05/2024 10:43

@SadieBarts it might take another day to show, it did for 2 out of my 4 pregnancies (on dpo 11), and with transfers it is slower.
Take care of yourself, it's just a rollercoaster, do something special for yourself. You are a priority. There is a next time and hope still there.

JadeCat · 03/05/2024 11:38

Take care of yourself @SadieBarts it’s so frustrating and just unfair.

Treat your self to something nice this weekend and give yourself the space to heal.

Don’t lose hope ❤️

SadieBarts · 03/05/2024 14:43

Thanks t@TrainIsMoving and @JadeCat I will still be testing Sunday and not eating/drinks things I shouldn't do until then as a precaution.

SadieBarts · 03/05/2024 14:56

@TrainIsMoving Could I check, when it showed from day 11, was that with a fresh cycle, 3 day or 5 day?

TrainIsMoving · 05/05/2024 10:18

@SadieBarts i didn't do transfer but from what I've read transfers can take longer. How are you?

I've got my initial consultations for IVF this month. If anyone has advice on what to ask and any tips for first IVF, please share.

JadeCat · 14/05/2024 09:43

How are you doing? @SadieBarts - hope you’re okay ❤️

I had lining troubles again this month despite being on injections and estrogen patches. It only got up to 5.9mm. I can start IVF next cycle but starting to think this is going to be a long road…

@TrainIsMoving how did you find your IVF consultations.

TrainIsMoving · 14/05/2024 16:53

@SadieBarts it went quite well! I will start in June or July. And go from there. Initial consultation is about 250£ and for me at least, it helped to get treatment plans from 2 clinics and choose.

My hycosy was quite painful 😬 but tubes are patent so still unsure why I'm not getting pregnant. I did letrozole feb-apr, so this cycle I'm on break as apparently with hycosy dye they used, I will very unlikely to get pregnant. I'll probably try again naturally in June as they said hycosy can increase chances for a cycle or two, and then go into IVF. I also want to just enjoy a bit of summer and get some vit d/holiday before it starts off.

It seems we might start IVF together so feel free to start another thread about IVF and I can join in. It's my first time, so I'm sure I'll be nervous and anxious but also positive as time gets closer.

Hi @JadeCat and @TrainIsMoving had a bit of a break from this. I was in other chat of people having had FET and it all seemed to work for them.

I was referred for further blood tests to see why the implantation keeps failing. They took 7 vials this morning, no idea what they are checking for though. I followed up with the clinic for appointment and they said September. I have complained as they said on the phone I would not need to wait. I honestly can't wait to see the back of my clinic. I'm at breaking point with them and may start looking at oversea now.

TrainIsMoving · 24/05/2024 17:26

@JadeCat sorry forgot to tag you before

@SadieBarts feel free to dm me, not sure if you're near London. September is quite far ahead, I would have thought follow up should be within a month or so. I'm so sorry, it's such a tough journey. Have you thought of pgta testing?

OP posts:
JadeCat · 24/05/2024 22:39

Hi @SadieBarts don’t worry I’m still BFN here!

Waiting until September doesn’t seem fair. Is that for another transfer or just to get some ideas for a new protocol? Fingers crossed you get some answers soon.

@TrainIsMoving hope your doing okay. I will be starting IVF next cycle, but with having a thin lining I can’t see them doing a fresh transfer so exiting it to take a few months.

I’ve got my friends baby shower tomorrow, and expecting to come on over the weekend. The irony of TTC!

SadieBarts · 26/05/2024 14:26

@TrainIsMoving I live in London. We did think of PGTa testing, however I think they will say double transfers now, which means only 2 funded FETs left. Feel id rather not know and just get them transferred, than paying for all 4 to be tested and them saying they arent good enough. When we all know some 'not good ones' end up sticking and being healthy.

@JadeCat Sorry to that that, it's crap isn't it. I will be for the next protocol, the FET tends to follow immediately afterwards. We are pushing to be seen asap, I will be 41 in July, they never take this into account. I know younger women struggle, but at least they are young and have time on their side. I don't, the more they delay, the older I will be to go private and collect eggs.

TrainIsMoving · 26/05/2024 20:39

@SadieBarts ah I see. My clinic would probably not do double transfers for me as I have higher risk of miscarriage. My understanding of pgta is it helps get successful pregnancy faster, and also it means ovaries don't get blamed if implantation doesn't happen, leading to better testing. But in your case, totally makes sense not to do it since then you would be testing and refreezing (with risk) and you suspect lining is an issue. Maybe you could go private just to see if protocol would be different for lining or anything else they might suggest?
With pgta actually, my clinic transfers low level mosaics, esp if the issue is mild. High level mosaics and abnormal have very high rate of failure and mc, in fact in research, they have found transferring abnormal has very rarely resulted in live birth (many studies with less than 0.001%). The risks associated with not thawing, damage to embryo, errors is about 1-2%.

Hi @SadieBarts have you managed to get your results back / an earlier appointment with your clinic yet?

My period hasn’t still arrived. Taken three pregnancy tests and they are all stark white negative! I’m never late either.

Mentally I was all prepped and ready to start IVF stims this week but now I’ll have to wait a bit longer. I feel like this is just one long waiting game, that no one asked to be on.

SadieBarts · 01/06/2024 17:45

@JadeCat Yes, they booked appt for mid June. Later than I wanted, as it means Junes cycle is out (due on next week) and probably Julys, as I will be on holiday, would be back for around cycle day 13 if I am on time, so they will probably miss that one too!

I hate that, when you're late. Body likes to tease!

JadeCat · 04/06/2024 12:06

@SadieBarts glad to hear you’ve got an appointment booked for this month, but SO annoying that it means you’ll miss this month. The waiting is so shit as it’s not like you can just switch off and forget about it!!

I went in for a scan today as I’ve still not come on. Scan confirmed I’m definitely not pregnant, they think I might not have ovulated, so now waiting to find out if I can start injections or if they want to put me on Northestrine to induce a bleed (which I’m not keen on as it thins the lining down which is my biggest hurdle)

Have all of your transfers been frozen, or did you do a fresh after egg collection?

@TrainIsMoving have you got a date for IVF cycle yet?

SadieBarts · 06/06/2024 13:26

@JadeCat All transfers were frozen, I'm high risk of OHSS annoyingly and did suffer with it midly which was excruciating.

I'm 2 days late, but refusing to test, I know my period is on its way, I can feel it - bloat, foul mood and hot sweats 😂

I took northisterone in 1 cycle, I hated it. I actually didn't have a proper period, just brown, which I told the Dr about it they said it isn't my period. I knew it was bit they wouldn't believe me. They finally gave in and gave me a scan, and I was right, my folicule was 19mm and ready to burst. Luckily me being persistent and asking for a scan, meant they caught it in time to do the egg collection. I think I know if I'm having a period for christ sake, but because it wasn't red they thought they knew better. See foul mood, I'm moaning 😂

TrainIsMoving · 09/06/2024 12:28

@SadieBarts are you trying naturally in between cycles?
@JadeCat we are starting medications mid July 👍🏻 still waiting on DNA fragmentation test which should be ready in 1-2 weeks. I've booked immune tests in August and probably will do era/Emma/alice and karyotype before transfer. I'm doing pgta frozen and then transfer no idea 🙈 tbh I am not confident I'll get any normal embryo
