Hi all, I noticed Fruitbowl and Herb on here and hoped I could pop in.
We are on the TTC over 40 thread and I'm so fed-up after realising I have been charting on FF and am now on cycle 23 or something.
I, like many of you, have one child already: a little boy who is fabulous and almost four, but I would love another baby for our 'gang'. After an hsg I discovered I had one blocked tube and one 'patent' tube, but the consultant thought it was likely to have damage also. So this is a total treadmill and now I'm feeling so tired and fed-up with the whole thing, but at the same time I can't stop.
We have managed to organise money for IVF, but if that fails I think that is it for us, no more money for IVF and I don't want to go on and on.
I don't want to drag down the forties thread by complaining especially as quite a few have just got bfps (which is great), but I'm just not in the same place as them right now.

I have just been clearing out my bathroom cupboard and have found just short of two full boxes of Pre-Seed (bought back in the heady days when I actually believed in miracles and thought I might indeed just manage to conceive naturally ? ha, ha.). Anyway, according to the packet, it goes out of date in March 2009, so it?s getting to a situation of pass it on or dispose of it. Is it of use to any of you? I would be more than happy to put it in the post to someone if so.

Am 27 been TTC for 4yrs 7 months have DD who is 7. Nothing wrong with either myself or hubby just unexplained.
And yes i have also trying fecking relaxing !!!! Thinking of being alcoholic ??? or druggie that always seems to work for people. !!!!
On second month of clomid, gutted when first month didnt work but ho hum what can you do.

TheRedQueen, I could do with some of that preseed, i know i'm new so dont want to be cheeky just say no if you like but have been thinking of trying it.

Annie sorry to hear about the low progesterone Annie, have you had the 21 day test? Sorry, if you have been asked this.
Is it possible to have progesterone treatment on the NHS? I know they give IVF patients progesterone suppositories [grimace] after embryo transfer.
I am taking ag cast as well because I was taking a massive dose when I got pg the first time. I wasn't TTC then, but attempting to reduce the size of a large fibroid pre-surgery.
Not sure if that's what did it, but you never know. I'm taking 1600 mg 2 caps in the the morning and two at night. I don't know if it will help at all, but at the very least I hope it reduces my awful PMS.
Redqueen, I have never tried preseed, but if you still have a tube up for grabs I would like to give it a go. I can send you money/stamps to cover your postage?
Ray - at your infertility cures, the drug/drink one could just do it and the bonus is you wouldn't care if it worked anyway - too drunk!

Hi Rowing! (waving from TTC for old duffers!). Have started taking fertility vitamins and following advice of Marilyn doo-dah, no point trying to conceive for 3 months until your body is in tip top condition from all these vitamins and the exercise that I am due to start at gym tomorrow.

Things is, do you think it will matter if I do the suggested recreational vodka and drugs regime at the same time? The latter sounds far more fun!!

The only good thing about the boring regime is that we don't have to think about having sex in time with the monthly metronome and then climbing the walls symptom spotting.

Also waiting on an appointment with the fertility clinic following low progestereone 21 day thingy.

Will be lurking in the meantime. xx

I love this site, it always makes me smile which i am not doing alot at the mo.

Shrekmissus, with regards to the weight loss i honestly think it aload of bollocks, i am in my normal BMI although perhaps abit high for my own liking but 23.5 so not bad. When i fell with my DD my BMI was about 16.5 so well below what it should have been and i was one of those smug people that fell first month with no probs at all but this time well as you know nearly 5 yrs later and still no bean and i'm healthy.
What about all these people that are on dugs and drink they fall easily too so i think its all crap. If you are overweight the docs just home in on that and blame it coz they dont have a reason, same with smoking and drinking and not eating the right foods. If you are going to lose weight do it for yourself not for others ot to get PG coz if you hit target weight and dont fall you'll hate it. I did the same with smoking (yes i am one of those awful people who smoke) i gave up when we started trying and started again when we werent PG within a year, i then gave up again for 6 months and still nothing and then i gave up for fertility treatment and that didnt work so i started again. My friend who smokes drinks and is overweight has just fallen within a month and had sex ONCE, Once seriously what the f**k how unfair.

Oh my god i just completely ranted so sorry guys feel very strongly about all the crap we get told. I am keeping fingers crossed for everyone on here i'm so hoping we all get beans realy soon.

Fruit I'm laughing at the 'metronome' sex. It's so spontaneous isn't. 'Right, come on then.' [trudge to bedroom]
We are at the metronome time, but have kind of lost the plot this month - don't know what day we are on, don't seem to have CM [bleuch] am drinking jugs of coffee, also have the mantra 'whatever!' running through my head. It's a bit busy this month with other stuff so TTC has slipped onto the back burner.
The whole IVF thing is quite scary [frightened face].
Shreks good luck with the weight loss. Are you doing any [whispers] exercise? I keep thinking 'must do some exercise' but then it rains.
Rays - I was very slim when I fell pg (twice) and doing lots of walking. Even though there may be a connection I still can't be bothered being thin. I remember when I was always on a diet - never had cheese in the fridge and only skimmed milk, no marge or butter and only vinegar on salads. Rubbbbiiiish!
Lucky friend only having to have sex once a month, never mind getting pg!

Quite right i wish could get away with that. This months its going to be every other day and 3 days over OV and then again after. Joy i have these headaches and realy dont want to have to. Poor DH.

Need help. I am on clomid and on CD7 stopped taking it yesterday. have realy bad pain in my right side very low as if in ovary or tube what do i do?

Ray have you been on Clomid for long - is this the first time you have had the pain?
It may just be the ovary being kick-started or a small cyst. A friend of mine and took Clomid quite recently and when they scanned her she had a couple of small cysts on her ovaries, which disappeared the following month. I think that could be a side-effect of Clomid. Can you get it checked out with your consultant?
If you are thinking OHSS I think it is quite rare so it's probably nothing like that, but get checked just in case.

this is my second month on clomid and only on CD7 so know it cannot be OHSS as that occurs after ovulation.
Pain is V bad, have taken some painkillers and hoping it will pass, could just be my body doing unusual things which is common from me. He he.Have bad pain in tummy too around the bellybutton area and in shoulder.

Oh god hope its not anything serious as realy need to be able to try this month.

Shreks I started a running thing 'couch to 5k' a while ago and let it slide.
Do you think you will go back to running or is it too unpleasant?
If you fancy a virtual running buddy/kick up bum I would be happy to oblige. I always feel worse if I feel I am letting someone else down.
It's extremely cold here today so not the biggest incentive to get out there in a tracksuit.
Baking is a killer isn't it! I stared to bake again with my DS and had to make it every two weeks because there were too many muffins/biscuits available. The worst time for me is after dinner - always want something sweet.
How are you feeling now Ray - any better?
