Morning everyone,

I am in cycle 6 of this weird and wonderful TTC journey.

I'm starting this thread for anyone that needs a safe place to rant, share, ask question or anything else. Hopefully we can support each other.

This is cycle day 3 for me. My AF wasn't actually due until 30th June but decided to show up a whole 6 days early so here we are!

And as hippy as this sounds, I had a reading at the beginning of the year and the lady was adamant July was my month so we'll see I guess! xx

I had a god awful taste in the morning
Can't really describe the taste but It was rank and I've had phantom smells all day.
I think I've lost the plot

HappyValleyFan1 · 17/07/2023 21:32

@FinallyMrsT well I'm sure it's not an exact science 😂 2.5 years of being super strict with myself then went off the rails for a few weeks 🫣
Ooh not symptom spotting on your behalf but metallic taste is quite common early symptom, had with all my pregnancies

elle18310 · 24/07/2023 20:25

Evening all! How are you all doing? I am 10dpo today and my period started yesterday 😭 absolutely gutted!
wondering how everyone else is getting on? Xx

@elle18310 I held off testing because I was putting off the disappointment of a bfn.. then worried because I'd gone out drinking...well I got my bfp! Very strange because I just wasn't expecting it. I've done a digital & a hospital cheapie since then both are positive too. The cheapie is super strong!

@elle18310 sorry to hear that!! Fingers crossed for next month!!

@FinallyMrsT ahhh congratulations!!! 🥹🩷 I also got a BFP which was the last thing in the world I expected to see! I must of done about 6 different tests! Hoping it sticks 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Ah congratulations both! Super exciting xx

HappyValleyFan1 · 25/07/2023 07:44

Congratulations to you both, that's lovely 🥰

AF also here for me @elle18310 not sure on DPO as not tracking but a 28 day cycle. I weirdly alternate between 28 days then a random 40 day cycle 🤷‍♀️ I know I have low AMH from previous MC investigations so maybe anovulatory cycles. FW will definitely be when we're on holiday and kids will be in closer proximity so will probably OPK this month

FinallyMrsT · 25/07/2023 07:49

Thanks @elle18310 @HappyValleyFan1 congratulations to you too @TTCbaby01

SnookyPook · 25/07/2023 08:28

Congratulations @FinallyMrsT and @TTCbaby01 on your BFPs! 😊

TTCbaby01 · 25/07/2023 08:34

Thank you all!! Still doesn't feel real!!🥹
Hoping you all get your BFPs soon!

mahii95 · 25/07/2023 10:25

Hi all I'm after a bit of advice.. I tested for ovulation yesterday and got a peak on fermometer digital OPK ( ++) . However got a low result on CB digital OPK (circle) so I assumed the CB test isnt sensitive enough..

We had guests round all day and managed to DTD just after midnight last night.

I tested again this morning and got a low result on Femometer now as well.. :-(

Today is showing as ovulation day according to the App and had a BBT dip this morning..

Can somebody advise if I have a chance in TTC this month or have I missed my window.

I've attached some images FYI.

Thank you

@mahii95 your peak fertile days are the 5 days leading up to ovulation and ovulation day. So from what you said you DTD within that window and therefore deffo in with a chance. I think the day before and day before that are better than ovulation day itself. So the day you get your peak and the one before.

HappyValleyFan1 · 31/07/2023 07:28

How is everyone getting on? CD9 here, going to start OPKs tomorrow which I said I never wanted to do again but here we are 🙃

We go away at the end of the week but DS sleeping terribly so not sure how much time we'll actually get to DTD 🙈

elle18310 · 31/07/2023 17:10

@HappyValleyFan1 hiya! Here we go again too! Cycle day 8 so started OKP today xx

OP posts:
HappyValleyFan1 · 01/08/2023 05:55

@elle18310 what OPKs are you using? I've just got some easy@home ones this time. Did my first this morning (CD10) and pretty high already. Last time I was tracking I'd always get an early LH surge then another before ovulation but have only conceived on cycles where I ovulate at 17+ days 🤷‍♀️ be interesting to see if my body has changed or not

elle18310 · 01/08/2023 22:53

@HappyValleyFan1 I’m just using cheapy clear and simple ones. I tried the digital clear blue and I just figured I like to see a line! Mine is dark already and I’m only CD 8. But I’ve been taking soy tablets this cycle and apparently it can move ovulation to bring it forward sometimes? Just going for it this month, not waiting for OKP! 😆🥰 Xx

Soya Isoflavones are derived from soya beans. They have been dubbed “the natural Clomid,”
As they work in pretty much an identical manner.
Just like Clomid; Soya Isoflavones work by tricking your body into thinking its low on oestrogen. Your body then kick starts production of FSH (Follicle-stimulating hormone) followed by LH (Luteinizing hormone) Which are both necessary to release Healthy Eggs during ovulation.
FSH is released at the start of the menstrual cycle; it stimulates the growth of an immature egg into a fully matured egg. When the egg has matured your body then releases a surge of LH. LH is the hormone that tells the ovary to release the egg.

WHEN?
You take Soy Isoflavones, like Clomid, on either CD 1-5 , 2-6, 3-7 , 4-8 or 5-9.
If you take soy Isoflavones during the later time bracket, for example CD5-9, you shall strengthen the egg that has already started growing producing a healthier egg. The earlier in your cycle you take It, the higher your chance of releasing multiple eggs but these eggs will not be as mature as the eggs grown from taking Soya later.
A lot of women will choose the middle cycle (3 -7) allowing time for a strong and healthy egg to develop without erasing the chance of a second egg being developed and released.

1-5 = you produce more eggs, and ovulate sooner, with a stronger ovulation.

2-6 = you produce more eggs that usual, but not as many as taking it 1-5. Eggs may be more mature, and ovulation will be slightly more strong than 1-5.

3-7 = The best of both worlds, a few more eggs, and all eggs will be strong & mature, and ovulation will be alot stronger than 1-5.

4-8 = No more eggs will be produced, but the ones already there, will be matured alot more than usual, and ovulation will be very strong. Ovulation may only be brought forward a teeny bit.

5-9 = You'll have one very mature strong egg, from the ones you already produced on your own. Ovulation will either happen when it usually does, or a few days later, but your egg will be of great quality.

DOSE?
The dose is really down to you but you should always use the lowest amount that works for you.
With Clomid the starting dose is 100mg. Soya Isoflavones are said to be half the strength of Clomid, so it makes sense for the starting dose to be 100mg.
The trouble with 100mg of soya is that the capsules tend to come as 40mg. So you have a choice of starting at 80mg.
Some women change the dose on different days. So they may start at 120mg for the first 3 days then give an extra boost for the last 2 days with 160mg.

As I have said though, use the lowest dose possible for yourself. If you ovulate using 120mg/day stick to that for a few cycles. GIVE IT A CHANCE. It is said that it takes 3months to get the full benefits of what you are taking. NEVER EXCEED 200mg/day.

Ooh interesting! I’m still waiting for my period but have had two negative pregnancy tests so might give those a go if they’ll help regulate when I ovulate!

Got a big box of cheap ovulation tests from Amazon too

elle18310 · 03/08/2023 10:20

@Limmers14 might be worth a go! I’ve given it a go this month so will
keep you posted xx

@elle18310 I know a few ladies who used these when I was last on MN during TTC my little boy 🙂
Nothing much going on here, CD15 and still no peak, maybe gearing up for later ovulation which is usually when I conceive but I don't trust my body to conform to any norm 😬

elle18310 · 18/09/2023 09:52

Morning, thought I'd pop up and say hi! Anyone still going strong on this TTC journey?

OP posts:
SnookyPook · 18/09/2023 10:04

@elle18310 morning lovely! Unfortunately I've just had a chemical pregnancy this cycle. Was my first BFP since the loss in April. Doc did bloods and was able to register it as a loss so at least it's on my record but obviously a bit crappy. I just finished bleeding a couple of days ago so back to opks now.... 🙃🤞🏻🌈

SnookyPook · 18/09/2023 10:05

@elle18310 meant to I say how are you?! Did you get any luck from your supplements etc?

elle18310 · 18/09/2023 10:38

No luck yet. But I had my first ever positive OKP. I always thought my OKP were positive with 2 lines but for the first time I had a blazing one! I'll upload some pics to show you x
