Morning everyone,

I am in cycle 6 of this weird and wonderful TTC journey.

I'm starting this thread for anyone that needs a safe place to rant, share, ask question or anything else. Hopefully we can support each other.

This is cycle day 3 for me. My AF wasn't actually due until 30th June but decided to show up a whole 6 days early so here we are!

And as hippy as this sounds, I had a reading at the beginning of the year and the lady was adamant July was my month so we'll see I guess! xx

@Limmers14 welcome! Opk is ovulation stick. Not really sure when you're meant to use them, my approach is sex every other day all month and maybe daily when I see fertile discharge. Husband is very happy with this plan!

I don't think it's necessary to cut out your coffee but looking after yourself mentally and physically is all helpful - eating healthily and exercise etc. And yeah cutting back on alcohol again is always good in general but plenty of babies have been conceived when their parents have been drunk so I wouldn't stress too much

FinallyMrsT · 30/06/2023 20:50

Hi@Limmers14 and welcome

I am similar I took my iUD end of feb but only started ttc since my wedding end of April...cutting alcohol after honeymoon end of May. I only drink coffee 3-4 times a week but I'm trying to lose some weight now.
Opk is ovulation testing.
Depending on your cycle length would depend when's best to starf testing for ovulation. This is my first month testing for ovulation... but if your cycle is 28 days I think recommendation is to test around day 8 of your cycle until you reach peak , with no need after peak.. to assess when you ovulate. (I think)

Limmers14 · 01/07/2023 16:52

Thank you @Knock123 and @FinallyMrsT! I’ve also downloaded Flo which has been super helpful for information for my husband and I 😊

MLN89 · 02/07/2023 20:21

Hi ladies,

Just checking in!

I caved and tested today at 8DPO (according to flo, I didn't do any opk's this month) and it was a BFN.

I'm not feeling too disheartened as it's only month 1 and I really don't mind if it takes a month or two as my hubby has just gone self employed and we've just paid for our wedding so financially a little extra time to recover won't be a bad thing!

I'm a notorious early tester and knew I'd start at 8DPO as I always did last time I was TTC and actually got my BFP with my daughter at 8DPO. As a compromise with myself I've ordered internet cheapies to use this week and then will do a FRER next weekend. Last time I was using FRER every day from 8DPO and every day for a good week or so after I got my BFP so spent a bloody fortune 😂.

Hope you're all good ❤️

@elle18310 i have a 10 year old as well! … and a 12 year old. The 10 year old is very keen.

elle18310 · 03/07/2023 08:22

@MLN89 oh my goodness, I'm an early tester too! I do the same and just buy cheapies so I'm not making myself bankrupt!!
I sometimes think its easier to know and then move on! Month one, plenty of time to go xx

@Isitthathardtobekind ahhh mine too! I've heard so many wonderful sibling stories with a big age gap, hopefully it works for us too xx You'll have two amazing helpers! xx

Hey, can I join if possible as well please? Cycle #3 TTC for #2. We have a 17mo DD who took us three cycles to fall pregnant with so hoping it is the same or similar this time around!

Just been using Flo, which is the same as I did with DD, and pretty much DTD every day during and around my fertile window.

Naomi2023 · 04/07/2023 19:50

Hey @elle18310 found the thread & also hi to everyone else 👋
I'm on cd7 today after an early loss & was the first month ttc again after an ectopic pregnancy so I'm hoping to have abit more luck this month and it be third time lucky 🙏
seen alot of people have concieved again following cycle after an early loss and that you can be more fertile after one but not sure on any science behind that. Anyone have any experience on this? Xx

Knock123 · 06/07/2023 08:28

Is anyone doing their temp? I've been worried I've not been ovulating and have been temping this month just to see and according to my temps I ovulated cd10! I had sex cd8 but thinking it's unlikely I've caught it this month but is likely to be a short cycle so not long until I can try again.
How are those of you doing in the 2ww?

Maybebaby12345 · 06/07/2023 08:42

Hi everyone!!! Can I join?? I'm 5dpo and ttc no5!!! After an emergency c section 2 years ago, I've had a lot of changes to my periods and I'm not sure how ttc is going to go for us this time. We've been trying for a few months now.

elle18310 · 06/07/2023 11:45

@Naomi2023 heyyyyy! xx
I've read that too but I don't know how true it is?? I'm hopeful for you! And my fingers are tightly crossed! You doing ok? xx

Welcome @Knock123 and @Maybebaby12345 I've been trying to do my temp too. I've actually remembered every day this moth so far which is better than last month. If anything, I think I just quite like having something to focus on and I quite like being a bit geeky with the science behind it!
5dpo @Maybebaby12345 we'll do the TWW with you! If there is anything you wanna chat about, feel free xx

Maybebaby12345 · 06/07/2023 12:48

@elle18310 thank you so much!!! I've been struggling a lot with various issues with my periods since my c section 2 years ago and I've just found out (through Google tbf) that I may be suffering with low estrogen. I have a gp appointment as now we are ttc again I'm worried it will effect fertility.
I could be told its something very different to a hormonal imbalance but whatever it is, I'm keen to get it sorted!!!

Knock123 · 06/07/2023 15:52

@Maybebaby12345 I have been having various period probs since having my baby almost 2years ago as well. Dr will prob do hormone tests on day 3 of your next period. In the meantime best thing is to do your temps so you can pinpoint when you're ovulating. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of it.
I was told a month ago that I'm probably going into early menopause and then the following month that everything is normal so I've no idea what's going on and just hoping for the best!

Maybebaby12345 · 06/07/2023 15:55

@Knock123 I recently read online that a high number of women suffer with low estrogen after a c section which I had no idea about and I feel so silly for not going to my gp sooner. I'm looking forward to getting some answers and I know Google isn't reliable but I do have a lot of the symptoms that sound like it could be that. It makes me think it's very certain this month wont be a bfp but gives me hope for the coming months

FinallyMrsT · 07/07/2023 08:16

So I'm 1dpo... so just at the start of the tww again
I've never checked my temp. I don't think I even have a thermometer. Ha I may need to invest in one if nothing this month. Since I had my IUD out in march (didn't ttc until may) I have the worst hot flushes on my cd1.my cycles also now vary from 28-32days... I had periods all through having the iUD which were like clockwork but I had the mirena for 10 days (2) so it's been a while since I was au natural 😅 it's been a learning curve.

Naomi2023 · 09/07/2023 20:41

Hey @elle18310 I'm doing good thanks, hope you are too? Back in the tww as of tomorrow and dreading the time going so slowly 😣 going to try and keep myself busy this week x

Knock123 · 10/07/2023 20:19

I'm 7dpo but planning to try to wait another week to test but pretty sure I missed my ovulation window while trying to figure out what was going on! But you never know, got to have hope!

elle18310 · 11/07/2023 07:16

@Naomi2023 ahhh I know the feeling! I’m 1dpo today and I already feel it dragging. Trying to be really optimistic! I was chatting to a friend who is TTC this weekend and we did laugh about how crazy it makes us! And every single normal symptom must lead to us being actually pregnant. So this month I’m really going to try to not spot anything and just wait for AF and then test if she doesn’t show up. (I really hope I can do this!) because I’m reality, last time I was pregnant I had zero symptoms that early on! And tested days after AF was due. That’s my goal this month! I wonder if it actually happens 😂😂 keep
Keep me posted on how you are xx

elle18310 · 11/07/2023 07:18

@Knock123 hou never know! And the window can change by quite a bit. I use flo and pre mom
as a guide and they both predict different days this month?! And I also know someone purposely not trying to get pregnant by tracking cycles etc and it still
happened. So you just gotta have a bit of hope and who knows xx my fingers are tightly crossed for you ❤️

Hi!
Can I join this pls?
It's taken me ages looking up the different acronyms you have all been using. I'm very very new to this. We're TTC. No kids yet. We had a miscarriage last year and it's taken me this long to be back at a place where we're trying again. I think I might be an anxious tester. I want to test ASAP! 😂But I know I should wait for a few more days at least.
Any help / advice is appreciated.
Good luck to all you lovely ladies! And I hope we all get our positives very soon :)

Knock123 · 11/07/2023 23:41

@Myna13 so sorry about your miscarriage. I had 2 before I had my daughter and it really changed me as a person. There's a great book called Pregnancy After Loss that kind of holds your hand once you get pregnant again. When is your period due?

Myna13 · 12/07/2023 09:30

@Knock123 I'm so sorry to hear that you went through a miscarriage twice. Thanks for the book recommendation. I'll pick it up today! My period is due on 21/07. I'm currently only 3 days post ovulation now.

elle18310 · 12/07/2023 13:50

@Myna13 welcome xx
sorry to hear about your loss. It appears a few of us have had similar experiences so we can all support each other xx
@Knock123 that book sounds good, I might take a look at that!

so quick update, before I fell pregnant last October I wasn’t ovulating and needed progesterone prescribed.
I’ve been taking ovulation tests for the past 6 months and I’ll share a pic below of a typical cycle. They look like they get dark near ovulation so I was happy. I had bloody work and the doctor wants to do it again because it doesn’t fit right with the days even though I track my cycle really well, so who knows?
anyway the last 2 cycles I have ditched caffeine, included seed cycling and been on a relatively high protein diet. Still having carbs but all Wholemeal etc and not much. I have had my proper first dark ovulation kit!!!!!!!! Yay! I don’t know if it’s connected but I’m happy! Xx
the second pic is my test from this morning xx

@elle18310 what great news! Here's hoping for bfp in a few weeks for you!
