sparkly when you have charted for a few months you 'will' see a pattern between pre Ov and post Ov temps. My pre 'O' temps ranged between 36.1 and 36.7 and my post 'O' temps ranged between 36.8 and 37.0 my preg temp have always stayed between 37.0 and 37.1
if you dont get enough sleep it can have a slight effect on your temps especially if you got out of bed. If you have had too much alcohol the night before, or you have a cold it can effect your temps, we are all so different with our temps so you need to stop worrying that your going to miss 'O'
I would have taken my temp before I peed and again when I woke 2 hours later to see what the difference was. If I compared my temps with yours, I would say that you haven't 'O'yet, but remember we are all so different.keep posting your temps, and try to make sure you get an OPK at least between 2.00pm and 8.00pm XX

TF please try not to worry, Ei's advice is very good.
fruits hang on in there hun X

Fym 6dpo did you get some b/d in just before you 'O'? I hope so,I'll keep popping in to check on your temps, unless you want to add them here, your very welcome b ut don't feel as though you have to, I will still pop in next door to see how you all are doing! Im doing fine at the moment, not as many pains today and sickness still there so touch wood all is ok

mibbes · 16/03/2008 18:23

Ei thank goodness for that (not that I am pleased you have underactive thyroid) but I was really concerned that I'd worried you. Looks like you may need to have medication adjusted. Maybe a good idea to chart temps for a month then see what GP thinks. Phewey

Sparkly that is right you have exactly the same variable length cycles as I do ! Just keep temping and use the opks to time BDing - as you will know your temp goes up after ov so you can't use that for timing. I tend to use opks twice a day as it is possible to miss the surge if only testing once a day, but I appreciate this can be expensive and once a day is fine for most ladies. We'll keep an eye for you and help you out. This is only my 3rd cycle but it gets easier, although it can sometimes be confusing. xx

SparklyMummy · 16/03/2008 19:27

Thanks so much for your advice Mibbles and Emmsy. Got another OPK-. I tested about 10am and again at 7pm and i'm hoping to continue this. I've got a pile of cheap ebay OPks and hoping that combining temping and OPKs will indicate if and when I am OV. I had an OPK+ on CD18 last month so still another week before I OV I think. Have an appointment with GP on Weds a.m. because I wanted to have her chat with her about the changes in my cycle. In the last 3 months i've had pre AF spotting and then post AF spotting. I used to bleed for 5 days but have been bleeding for 3 days and then having a lot of brown discharge before AF and then it continued for 8 days this cycle. I know it's prob normal but FL has persuaded me to pay a visit to the GP. I've mentioned this before but we've been having unprotected sex for 2 years but only trying hard for 5 months...surely I should have had a BFP by now?

SparklyMummy · 16/03/2008 19:40

Forgot to add that I don't have any OV symptoms...well none that I notice. Can anyone in here offer advice to Jaamy in the waiting room?

mibbes · 16/03/2008 20:46

Sparkly it is definitely worth speaking to GP about pre and post AF spotting. I went to see GP about my 5-6 day pre-AF spotathon. I am having day21 bloods taken tomorrow and have a scan booked for a week on Thu. My GP took me very seriously and acted quickly. I am hoping that spotting is caused by something fixable but it can be a sign of a multitude of problems so they will want to get to the bottom of it quickly. The way I see it is that I'm having a thorough MOT of my reproductive system which lots of ladies don't get until they have been trying for 12 months+ so I'm very lucky. I really hope you are treated as well by your GP xx

SparklyMummy · 16/03/2008 20:53

I'm going to see the female GP as the male is a patronising idiot and I wouldn't feel comfortable chatting to him. I'm hoping she takes me seriously. xxx

I'm just gonna copy and paste my post from temping

Looks like this ovulation thing was all a big lie. My temp has dropped well below my coverline and no AF.
This TTC business just takes the pss. All this false hope for nothing. Who am I kidding? Of course I don't fing ovulate I dont know why I'm even bothering to temp It just causes heartache and distress . I'll keep going for the rest of the week then I'm taking that progesterone and leaving my fate in the hands of the NHS (lord help me!).
I just dont understand why this is happening? All my life I've wanted a huge family with loads of kids. I feel like someone has come along and p*ssed on my dreams.
I'm sorry for those who haven't got any children yet, I just cant be content with one. I'm starting to feel like my DS was a miracle child and I'm never gonna be lucky enough to have anymore
Sorry to bring this lovely thread down at this time in the morning I just cant see much light at the moment.

My temps seem to have dropped today and I have a very sore throat. I don't think i'm seeing what i'm supposed to on FF.

FL I wondered where you had been lovely lady. Haven't talked to you this weekend. You poor thing. I don't want to give you false hope but maybe FF is wrong.. don't give up completely. Remember what happened with Josie? By relaxing and giving up hope and waiting for intervention she got pg easily. I've said this before (and i'll say it again)..maybe it's just not happening for us because we want it too much. I think the approach of thinking f* it and not letting it get you down (as hard as that is) is the best approach. ((((bigs hugs)))) YOU WILL GET UR BFP!
Hope to chat to you later. xxxxxxxx

Emmsy1 · 17/03/2008 12:46

fruity I think you have 'O' I think you are going to get AF in the next couple of days, some girls dont get AF unil 18 dpo, your only 14dpo (I know most get it approx 14dpo, but your definatately not a typical average girl are you hun? X

sparkly I think your chart looks fine! I have had an the odd dip in temp just before ovulation so be careful you dont miss your chance get b/d NOW!!!!!

OP posts:
mibbes · 17/03/2008 13:21

Sparkly don't try to read too much into each temp - a drop like that is perfecty normal. If it helps here is my chart for this cycle and there is a big drop in there too as well as a few high ones pre-ov. but as you can see there is a definite trend of pre-ov and post-ov temps being in lower/higher range. You can also see a very high one early in the month after a boozy night
Hmm actually can't seem to paste in a url that doesn't just take you to the homepage - how did you get that link for yours to work ? and I work in IT, how
Fruity maybe a good idea not to temp if PCOS messes you about. Or as Emmsy says maybe you have ov'd and AF on her way as temps often dip just before she arrives. What a nuisance as opks are not relaible with PCOS either are they ? How the f* are you supposed to time BDing ? Am at PCOS on your behalf. I guess you just need to keep 'at it' all the time - bananas are good for energy
I had my blood test today - 2-3 weeks for results though. Also now think my scan date may be at end of AF so may have to rearrange that too...grrr just wanted some quick answers - am not very patient !

SparklyMummy · 17/03/2008 13:58

I had another opk- this morning so will do another one this evening.
Mibbles If you go to the homepage tab you will see your url for your page in a box. Just copy and paste that. I didn't know how to do that either but FL showed me.
Emmsy Don't think i'm due to ov yet. FF has said my fertile days will be weds onwards but might try to BD tonight anyway.

fruitloop79 · 17/03/2008 14:28

Thanks you lot. Sorry, I was so miserable this morning I suppose I knew my temp was going to drop completely. Just was hoping FF would prove me wrong Thing is I dont feel AFy I am extremely tired though and, well looking at my grumble this morning on here, I'm obviously feeling really down so maybe AF is on her way. I usually get those awful AF cramps for a couple of days before and break out in spots but nothing.
That is so not a pregnancy chart is it, with those temps.
Ah well, another three month cycle lies ahead of me so there wont be any excitement from me for a while God, this is painfully frustrating. I'm gonna start taking those progesterone tablets on Sat. I dont know why not today but as FF said to test on Sat I thought I might just as well start the medication then too. (If AF doesnt arrive 1st)

Sparkly I havent had much chance on here lately cos DP's doing a big animation project for his mate. If he lets me on this evening, I'll defo be up for a chat

SparklyMummy · 17/03/2008 14:34

Fruity hugs
I have such a sore throat today. Am going to a talk on dyslexia and dyspraxia tonight from 730 til 9 but hope to have a chat after that if J isn't hogging the comp. X

fruitloop79 · 17/03/2008 14:36

I keep thinking DS has dyspraxia. He's the only person I know who can fall over just standing still!

mibbes · 17/03/2008 16:15

FL sending you {{{{{{big hugs}}}}} I wish there was more I could do to help . All I can say is keep BD'ing. Do you know from the other PCOSers if they do get a thermal shift when they ov ? If so then the temps may mislead you at times but surely when you do ov they will be a good guide ? Did you get progesterone cream from GP ? Do they suspect it is low ?
Sparkly how does FF when you will be fertile ? Is it guessing ?
Here is my chart : mibbes chart
as you can see lots of random temps but overall the trend is there and that is what you are looking for, so when you get a strange one just ignore it as the overall picture will tell you when you ov, not one temp , hope this helps.

SparklyMummy · 17/03/2008 16:50

FL I fall over my own feet all the time.
Mibbles Thanks for sharing your chart. Will FF automatically put those red lines on for me? I'm not sure if I read your chart correctly...does it suggest that u OV on day 19? I think this is when I ov last month so we have identical cycles. I guess our luteal phase is the same?

EiWishFor3MoreEasterEggs · 17/03/2008 16:51

hi ladies
FL sorry you are feeling down today hunny bloody PCOS is a b@#&*$d isnt it im here if you need someone to vent/talk to xxx
mibbes i have to go back to the GPs to sort out this bloody water infection that is still lingering around since last april and i cant get rid of it so il talk to him then about the thyroid stuff my temp is ever lower again today so i think i might need to speak to him soon anyway
