@Favofit a massage sounds like a lovely idea, I’m gonna treat myself to one next week. I’ve got an excellent local lady who makes me feel like a new person every time I get one!

I totally get it about trying again, I feel the same really. I am gonna try to switch from β€œactively trying” to a mentality of β€œnot preventing” so stopping tracking anything other than periods and having sex whenever we feel like it (my husband said that we should still go in peak fertile times so will just aim to dtd a bit more in middle of cycle). I think I just need a mental break, it’s hard going. Can you do the same?

justanothermummma · 28/07/2023 08:12

@Annapolis35 thanks lovely! Initially when coming off contraception I was desperate for a baby then and there but I'd rather just live as normal now and see what happens! I feel a lot better mentally for it, no-one needs that pressure. I'll track my periods as I always did (not that I need the warning because the mood swings are AWFUL) and plod along πŸ˜‚!

Congratulations on the interview! That sounds amazing, it's always good when there are clear benefits to working for them! Fingers crossed for you.

@Favofit with Anna on the 'not preventing' side of things! X

CAGH03 · 28/07/2023 10:03

@Annapolis35 I'm going to get a test today and see what it says! 🀞🏼x

Vic231 · 02/08/2023 09:54

Hi ladies, how is everyone doing? I'm in my fertile week so trying to DTD as much as possible! 🀞🏼

Hi ladies, how is everyone doing? I'm in my fertile week so trying to DTD as much as possible! 🀞🏼

Good luck!! I got my period yesterday, was really heavy and now it's pretty much gone x

Bubblesandtroubles · 02/08/2023 14:23

Good luck @Vic231! Sending you lots of stamina for as many attempts as possible! 🀣
I've just started OPKs today but not expecting a peak for a good few days yet just being cautious really. Trying not to start DTD too early this month as feel like we ran out of steam last month!
Hope everyone else is doing well. Xx

SnookyPook · 02/08/2023 17:44

@Vic231 ooh godspeed! 8dpo here and trying to Keep Calm and Not Symptom Spot πŸ˜‚ failing miserably. Today I've been really dizzy and a bit nauseous. Also been a bit constipated the last few days. Who knows... Time will tell!

dabs9 · 02/08/2023 18:07

Hi All, hope everyone is getting on ok.
Currently 3/4dpo and have what I think is a chest infection. Mental me has been googling whether you can cough out a fertilised egg before implantation! 🀣
Honestly the places your mind takes you.
Hoping to get my IVF referral next month so at least that's something to look forward to. X

DuchessofSuffolk · 02/08/2023 21:19

So how often is everyone DTD? We aim for every other day, is that not enough. I was told everyday day could affect sperm quality…

I kinda don’t get how people fall pregnant by accident.. like it sounds so easy!

Especially in movies they make it look so easy! We usually do every other day but make sure we do it the day before, or the day I get my peak x

Favofit · 03/08/2023 15:20

Hey ladies, I've been so quiet lately as still struggling with how difficult ttc journey is. I'm in my predicted fertile week but not sure exactly as completely stopped tracking. Opks and bbt have increased my anxiety levels so staying clear. I'm trying to enjoy spending time with OH and not worry about it happening. Sorry for being so negative, I hope everyone is doing well xx

justanothermummma · 03/08/2023 19:35

Hi all!

So I'm on my second TWW but now I'm hoping for a negative. I got made redundant on Tuesday as the business is in a bad financial state and myself and one other have been 'let go' - we were the newest so it makes sense but it's been a horrific few days.

I'm going back on the pill as of Monday - that is, if AF shows up. I'm now on the path of job hunting but I'm mentally numb to everything. I've worked constantly since 15 years old, cut maternity leave short to build my career for both girls and earlier this year took the leap to reduce my hours and focus on the kids after realising I was wasting my life. Said 'leap' has turned into disaster!

Beyond gutted - heartbroken actually. But hey ho.

I'll stick around if by some miracle I find work soon, but yeah, out of the race for now! X

Annapolis35 · 03/08/2023 21:22

I am so sorry to hear everyone’s having a hard time. Sending so much love to @justanothermummma that is a horrible situation to be in and I hope you find something new soon.

@Favofit yeah definitely not using opks and bbt helps! I find I get so anxious watching my temp in the 2ww. I hope you’re ok and just take the pressure off a bit. I find it’s worse when period arrives if you know you’ve got the dates spot on.

@dabs9 so sorry about the chest infection - that’s shit. πŸ˜‚ coughing out a baby made me laugh.

@DuchessofSuffolk We’ve tried everything - every other day and every day for a while. We’ve settled on every other day and then 2/3 days in a row nearer the time if we can manage it as that’s been doable for us with our schedules. When I got pregnant which ended in mmc we did 5 days in a row! We have tried that since and it hasn’t worked so I think it’s basically just luck. Anytime before ovulation can work I think.

I am in the week after my period so feeling good and not thinking about trying at this exact moment. That’ll change rapidly as next week will be fertile week.

Annapolis35 · 03/08/2023 21:24

Also @dabs9 really good news about an IVF referral down the line. Please keep us updated! We had our fertility referral sent in June and Dundee said it can take 6-9 months for an appointment πŸ™„ in for the long haul, but at least I’m prepared.

justanothermummma · 03/08/2023 21:25

Thank you @Annapolis35 xxx

SnookyPook · 03/08/2023 23:43

@justanothermummma so sorry to hear your news. That must be a real gut punch. Hope you're as ok as can be and manage to find a new job that you love very quickly.

SnookyPook · 03/08/2023 23:44

@Favofit sending you a big hug x

dabs9 · 04/08/2023 08:56

@justanothermummma I'm so sorry to hear your news! That's such a horrible position to be in, I really hope you find something soon and life for you doesn't need to change too much 🧑

@Favofit it's such a difficult thing to go through, and I find it has huge ups and downs. My mood can vary massively one day to the next depending on what I think it happening with my body, it's exhausting isn't it. Current mood is 5/6dpo and pissed off convincing myself it's another failed month. Picking fights with my husband because i'm just a bit of a miserable bitch right now 😬 blaming progesterone.
I have massively reduced my opk use and don't do BBT anymore. I figured it's making no difference anyway so might as well ease some of the pressure from myself.

@DuchessofSuffolk we aim for every other day once period has finished and then once I get peak 3 days in a row. Unless we really can't be arsed haha.

@Annapolis35 it's absolutely shocking how long just an initial appointment can take! Can you choose to go somewhere else for it on NHS? Here, it's 12-14weeks for first fertility appt. And at the moment 18-20weeks between IVF referral and treatment starting. I imagine with the long wait times it reduces the numbers of people needing the service as I'm sure some get pregnant naturally while they're waiting lol.
Defos think I must've coughed anything out that could have been in my uterus... but Dr google tells me that's impossible! πŸ™ˆ

justanothermummma · 04/08/2023 08:58

Thank you @dabs9 @SnookyPook it's certainly knocked the wind out of my sails! But I'll figure it out hopefully! Xxx

Hey Ladies! Thought I'd show my face as I haven't been around for a while due to some stuff going on at home.

@justanothermummma so sorry you've been made redundant. It's never a nice time for that to happen, and it's even worse when you're trying to start your next step. Let us know if we can help at all, even if it's trawling LinkedIn jobs for you

@Favofit it is really hard, especially when there isn't an obvious reason. I sometimes feel that I'm lucky that my issue is down to my PCOS as there is a reason and it's treatable. When theirs no cause to why it's not working, it makes it a million times hard, more frustrating and all round exhausting!

So slight update on my AWOL antics. Me and Mr. GCS34 started IVF 3 weeks ago and it's been a cocktail of ups, downs, overwhelming MEH and being prodded by dildocam and blood tests every other day! BIG Shoutout to @dabs9 who has been through it all with me over the past 3 weeks, and has held my hand when i've had a meltdown about my ovaries being a nob head / Lack of lining / having to have a Freeze-All, and moaning when they kept pushing me for more. She's my superwoman and deserves more than ANYONE to be a wicked mum that she 100000% will be soon 😘

Anyway, gushing over. Egg collection over. And a nice crop of fertilized eggs in the lab doing their thing for the next 3 days as the hopefully grow into strong embryos.

Hopefully that's the end of Dildocam for me, and I can hand over the reigns to @dabs9 @Annapolis35 soon!!

SnookyPook · 04/08/2023 17:16

@GCS34 ooh that sounds really hopeful (although has obviously been a really tough journey!) - so glad you've had such fantastic support from @dabs9 - I imagine that makes a massive difference! Everything crossed for you! One of my best friends is currently 20+weeks pregnant after her fifth embryo transfer and I'm so made up for her. Fingers crossed this is the start of great things for you πŸ₯°

10dpo here today... Eek... Really don't know what to think. Not had raging pms this cycle which I had in abundance last time. I have also had a few crampy feelings etc but nothing that is jumping out to me that I must definitely be pregnant and some differences from my previous 2 pregnancies... Although, as we all know and torment ourselves with, every pregnancy can be different... So who knows! A few more days to wait for AF...

justanothermummma · 04/08/2023 22:23

Ohhhh @GCS34 you're so lovely! Amazing to hear IVF is underway, how are you feeling about it all? Sending all my hope that your egg collection makes a batch of gorgeous babies to help you future family grow 🌱πŸ₯°

I think I could recite LinkedIn and Indeed jobs in my sleep. I still can't believe I'm out of work, I've always worked! Feel like I've de-skilled in a matter of days πŸ˜‚

Timing isn't ideal but I'll be on the pill (DREADING the hormones after the copper coil) from Monday, but at least it will be less hassle when I'm ready to TTC again.

I am worried though, I'm still in my TWW and AF is due Sunday, as much as I wish I was pregnant... with this redundancy I really hope AF shows up! Because the timing is not ideal. So hopefully me willing AF to arrive (painkillers at the ready) will ensure luck for one of you. That would be the perfect pick me up!

Also, when we are all pregnant, can we make a FB or WhatsApp group? I ended up part of one after DD2 and we're still in touch almost 3 years on! It's absolutely lush!

Vic231 · 04/08/2023 22:34

@justanothermummma ah how awful for you! I can't imagine the rug just being pulled from your feet like that with your job loss, I read once that redundancy is a grief in itself, so let yourself feel all the emotions!

@CAGH03 I have my fingers crossed for you and the IVF! One of my best friends is due her second IVF baby at the end of this month and it's so lovely!

I'm worried me and DH haven't DTD as much as we could have this month due to really busy schedules so I am feeling a bit deflated but have to remind myself that we have at least DTD and it only needs one like swimmer to make it to the egg!!

My dog also had his stitches out today from his op and he's been a trooper throughout the whole thing. Just waiting for some test results back but hopefully that's all sorted now 🀞🏼

SnookyPook · 04/08/2023 23:38

@Vic231 oh so happy to hear that your doggo is doing better 😊 And yes... It only takes one! 🀞🏻

Bubblesandtroubles · 05/08/2023 08:28

@GCS34 exciting news. You've been very busy in your hiatus from here! Crossing EVERYTHING for you that they're doing their thing beautifully in that little Petri-dish. πŸ’•
@justanothermummma what rubbish timing πŸ™„ what field do you work in? (Sorry if you've already said further up thread) someone here might have some useful suggestions?
First day of DTD yesterday. Started a bit later this month so that we hopefully don't run out of steam on/just after peak days. I even did the lega up the wall afterwards. Feel like need to throw everything at it this month as may need to take stock if this one doesn't work.
Good luck to everyone due to start testing anytime soon! Xx
