I've been tearful on and off today and am a bit snarky. Mood swings, I think. Often caused by progesterone, although HcG increases progesterone output and more progesterone means more irritability and all the rest of it. I haven't had any spotting yet, so I'm taking that as a good sign. Taking each day as it comes.

Triselly · 18/05/2023 16:03

@lemons44 thank you xx Yes it is strange isn’t it! It’s my first round, but I think I am probably the only woman here who is doing ivf for the reason that we are - my husband had a vasectomy when he was younger and then changed his mind later and had a reversal 🙃. It failed unfortunately, they don’t tell that the success rate is incredibly low for reversal surgeries.

How are you doing today? It sounds great that you’ve got a consultation on Monday to plan moving forward, I am sure that they will be able to tweak your protocol to give you a better result next round.

@CR7 that must feel so strange! Are you getting up to midnight snack at the moment?

@SarahShorty Do you know when you’re expecting AF? Xx

SarahShorty · 18/05/2023 16:08

@Triselly Saturday xx

lemons44 · 18/05/2023 18:05

@Triselly I'm on the azoospermia group and there's a few ladies on there because their OHs had a previous vasectomy and now want to TTC so maybe more common than you think! I can't remember if you said if you and your OH have any children already? I was feeling a bit down this morning - think I am still processing that this whole round didn't work for us. But I'm glad we are talking to the doctor on Monday because I think that will help to give closure on this round and to look towards the next round in a few months. Apparently with my clinic they recommend a withdrawal bleed and then 2 normal menstrual cycles before another round of IVF, which would take me to August. To be honest I don't want to wait that long. But my DH does think the break will be good for me. I will see what the doctor says on Monday. Xxx

@lemons44 only you know how you feel. My clinic says a clear month only but I also waited to have some tests done. Having the summer off if you have time on your side is not a bad idea at all. Wine in the sun and relaxing etc. but only you can decide xx

Thinking of you today @Triselly x

Thank you @RunningOnHope xx I went for another blood test today, and the levels have risen from 408 to 2700 in 4 days, so very happy with that result! I’m booked in for a scan now on Monday, so they can see where it is. I’m feeling quite hopeful now but don’t want to get ahead of myself.

Have you heard anything about the shortlist yet? Please let us know when you do, if you feel like it!

@lemons44 That is very reassuring to know that other women have the same issue with extremely short sighted husbands! 😅 We don’t have any children together yet, but he has a daughter in her mid 20s, who was born when he was a very young man (somewhat explaining things). Do you have any other children? How are you feeling about everything today? Hope you’re alright xx

Hope everyone else is having a good Friday, happy weekend ❤️

CR7 · 19/05/2023 18:24

@Triselly such promising numbers xx try to relax over the weekend if you can xx

RunningOnHope · 19/05/2023 18:35

Brilliant news @Triselly! Absolutely rooting for you.

Ahh I've heard off-the-record that I've got an interview but no formal notification yet - it's so much like this TTC process 😂

AF arrived in full force today, so I'll be setting up for the next transfer in June. I got so excited yesterday because it was so close to looking like I'd missed AF and had cramps on and off a few days ago and thought it was implantation. I feel like a right idiot. I wish I could tolerate alcohol, because I just want to get really drunk right now.

RunningOnHope · 21/05/2023 17:05

Sorry to hear it @SarahShorty, is there anything nice you can do tonight to help feel a bit better? Never an idiot for hoping and believing. We all need to do it.

I seem to have a whole new period which is confusing - the miscarriage blood had gone down to a trickle but never quite stopped, and I was still testing positive on Friday - haven't tried since. But since Friday evening/yesterday morning, the blood has turned into a full period again. I'm presuming this sadly doesn't count as the full cycle that means I can crack on with an FET! So another 4 weeks from now perhaps...

OP posts:
Triselly · 21/05/2023 18:13

I’m so sorry, @RunningOnHope , that sounds like no fun at all - how are you feeling? Does it track with your regular period? Hoping these next four weeks fly by xx

@SarahShorty sorry to hear it didn’t work out this cycle, but next month is so close now xx How many FEs do you have?

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend ❤️ I’m in for a scan tomorrow to find out where my embryo currently is 😅

Flowerlover010 · 21/05/2023 18:32

@RunningOnHope oh thats so rubbish. Its not unusual for MC blood to stop and start though. Hopefully it finishes soon for you though.

Good luck @Triselly will be thinking of you xx

SarahShorty · 21/05/2023 19:12

@RunningOnHope thanks xx I really thought it was the one, I thought we'd cracked it. I went a bit mad yesterday because I kept needing to pee and I put that down to HCG thinking an embryo implanted a few days previously based on the on and off cramps. Turns out progesterone can have the same effect. God I'm so embarrassed, I'm so angry I could just punch my pillow all night. DH and I are giving each other space tonight. He's out in the garden tending to our tiny allotment, I guess if you can't grow human life, you can grow plant life, right?

@Triselly I have 4 FEs left. I was going to do a DE transfer but there is a risk of one dying and taking the other one out with it. So am going to use them up one at a time.

RunningOnHope · 22/05/2023 08:14

@Triselly Holding my breath for you this morning xx

CR7 · 22/05/2023 08:19

@Triselly keep us posted if you're in the mood xx

SarahShorty · 22/05/2023 09:28

I have the first baseline scan tomorrow morning in preparation for the next FET. I predict the FET will be around 8th or 9th June as by law of the sod that would be the anniversary of the first fertility MOT we had done. My manager at work told me in passing that his girlfriend is having a scan tomorrow, and of course I think it's because she might be pregnant, so now that's playing on my mind. He's a moron, but he knows well enough not to tell me if that is in fact the case because I'll just be inconsolable. I'm aware there are all sorts of scans you can have, I'm just so desperate now.

@Triselly thinking of you this morning xx

Triselly · 22/05/2023 13:07

Hey guys, bad news I'm afraid. Dr couldn't find the embryo in my uterus so me and husband are now waiting in the hospital for further examinations and blood tests.

It might be that my lining was growing and releasing hcg due to the cyclogest, or it might be that the embryo is growing somewhere else, in which case I'll have to have an operation later today.

I've never been to hospital before, or been under anaesthetic. Am quite scared and just completely broken by this point. I just want it all to be over.

Sorry for the rubbish update, i hope you are all alright xx

SarahShorty · 22/05/2023 13:11

Oh @Triselly I'm so sorry Flowers xx Sending you so much love and thinking of you both xx

Flowerlover010 · 22/05/2023 13:19

So so sorry @Triselly. Thinking of you. If you do have to have an operation and they put you to sleep honestly it will just be a nice deep sleep that u wont want to wake up from. I hope its all over for you soon xx

CR7 · 22/05/2023 13:23

@Triselly sending you so much love xx

TheBirdintheCave · 23/05/2023 10:16

@Triselly Sorry to hear your update 😥

Triselly · 23/05/2023 11:41

Thank you so much everyone for your messages, I know I’ve said before but it’s so nice to talk to women who really understand.

I didn’t have an operation yesterday, they checked my haemoglobin to see if there was internal bleeding but thankfully that was normal. HCG is still rising but not quite doubling. So back to the hospital tomorrow for more exams and blood tests, feeling very sore and poked and prodded, really would like a break from people being all up in my vagina.

How are you all doing? ❤️
