Today is day one of 5mg of letrozole for me. I have irregular cycles so really hoping this helps sort me out 🤞

Anyone else in the same boat or have happy stories to share?

Morning everyone, sorry I’ve been so quiet. Struggling with my mental health this week. Will reply properly soon, sending love to you all xx

WafflesNCream · 19/04/2023 08:00

@Booklover88 sorry to hear that. Sending loads of love ❤️ and positive energy your way. Take care of yourself xx

shoegirl36 · 19/04/2023 10:31

@Booklover88 sending hugs and positive vibes your way ❤️ here if you need to talk x

shoegirl36 · 19/04/2023 16:21

Please forgive me I didn't know where to rant... been feeling so shitty with all this fertility stuff recently so decided to go and get pampered. Had an appointment at my hairdressers today, the hair needed it's 6 monthly cut and been using the same lady for years now. Got in there all was fine, as soon as I was having my hair washed she was doing the usual pleasantries and then told me she was 6 months pregnant. I wanted the floor to swallow me up whole. I'm happy for her don't get me wrong but yet again I feel like there's no escape from everyone else's baby joy. I'm not afraid to say I'm jealous, I want to be the one announcing my news, I want to be the one decorating my nursery, I want to be the one who's got a huge bump to show off. I'm so sorry for moaning ladies x

Anon9899 · 19/04/2023 16:35

@Booklover88 really sorry to hear you've been struggling. Hope things look up for you soon x

@shoegirl36 that sounds tough especially if you'd gone for the appointment specifically to treat yourself/take your mind off it all. I feel like pregnant women are everywhere since I've been TTC!! I think most people don't think twice about how announcing it to the world might make others feel as they are just stuck in their happy bubble... we just have to hold out hope that it will be us sooner or later! Hope you're ok x

@Anon9899 thank you, it really wasn't about a pity party for me lol, just needed somewhere I could scream without people getting bored of my voice. Pregnancy is everywhere at the moment and it's just so hard to be happy for everyone else without getting what we want

shoegirl36 · 20/04/2023 06:24

Finally after a 40 day cycle roughly my period arrived this morning. That means tomorrow I start my 5mg Letrozole. Going to keep tracking my LH for a peak, and get a blood test booked for progesterone check. Finally is this the good sign I've been waiting for ❤️ hope you ladies are all well x

WafflesNCream · 20/04/2023 11:28

@shoegirl36 wooop wooop, good luck with the new cycle. Hopefully this one is the lucky one! ❤️❤️

Anon9899 · 20/04/2023 22:07

Yay @shoegirl36 that's great news! Hope 5mg does the trick!!

I've finally had my peak LH today (day 20) nearly a week on from my scan so hoping my egg isnt overcooked and that we are still in the game 🤞 I suppose on the plus side my lining has had an extra week to hopefully thicken a bit.

@Anon9899 @WafflesNCream thank you both ladies ❤️ and good luck @Anon9899 I hope this is your month x

WafflesNCream · 21/04/2023 10:54

@Anon9899 Amazing news! Your lining was probably thin because it was too early in the cycle. We can do the TWW together! 😀

TW: Pregnancy test results

Hi everyone. So sorry for the radio silence. It’s been a rollercoaster of a week! Was feeling really low earlier this week-it was my 35th birthday and was just feeling so sad at not being where I thought I’d be at 35 (as well as thinking about 35 being a pretty significant number when it comes to fertility). Also dealing with another pregnancy announcement on Monday where I had to smile through how I was feeling.

Anyway, yesterday was 10DPO so thought I’d do a pregnancy test. There was a very very faint line which I thought might have been an evap line. Had the same this morning. However, I’ve just done another test and the line, although still faint, is a bit clearer. Not getting ahead of myself and know there’s a way to go but I think the letrozole might have worked its magic for us. I have had a chemical pregnancy before so not jumping for joy just yet but I’m hopeful. I’m so sorry to anyone who might find this news difficult to hear. I have been that person more times than I care to count and I’m so sorry. It’s just so bloody hard.

@shoegirl36 sorry you had a rough week with your hairdresser. Being told in person is so hard-I had that too this week and it’s so difficult. Glad you can get started on letrozole and hope you don’t have too many side effects.

@Anon9899 really hope everything works out this month, I don’t really understand how the scans work as I wasn’t offered them but sounds promising. Fingers crossed for you.

sending lots of love to everyone xxx

shoegirl36 · 21/04/2023 16:34

@Booklover88 no that's great news, as you said it's early days but I'm wishing you all the luck in the world. I hope it's your time. What a late birthday present it would be for you. I'm thrilled.

Booklover88 · 21/04/2023 16:58

@shoegirl36 thank you so much for your lovely reply ❤️

WafflesNCream · 21/04/2023 17:12

@Booklover88 Congratulations! Wonderful news and a beautiful birthday present! ❤️❤️

shoegirl36 · 21/04/2023 17:18

@Booklover88 don't be silly us girls understand each others situations so if we're not here for each other then who knows where we'd be ❤️ can't wait to hear each of our stories when the time comes x

Anon9899 · 21/04/2023 21:09

Oh my goodness @Booklover88 that is amazing news! Truly so thrilled for you. Positive stories give us all hope that this can work for any of us!! Hope you've started off a string of good luck for this thread!

@WafflesNCream TWW team assemble!! Reckon I've probably ovulated today. When are you going to test? Hope you're right about the lining 🤞

Thanks everyone for your lovely messages. Confirmed with a digital test this morning. Can’t believe it, it’s been such a journey. Sending so so much love to you all and hope your TWWs pass quickly. Thank you so much for your support, you’re the only ones who know (other than my husband!) Xx

shoegirl36 · 22/04/2023 09:23

@Booklover88 massive congratulations girl 🥳

WafflesNCream · 22/04/2023 16:24

@Booklover88 amazing, it must have been wonderful to see ‘pregnant’ on the screen ❤️ I’m so happy for you and your story gives me hope. I’m starting to feel a bit nervous about turning 35 next year.
@Anon9899 I will try to wait till my period is due on the 2nd before I test. I tested too early 2 months ago, got a false positive and it was soul destroying. I’m trying to distract myself as much as I can in the meanwhile.

Anon9899 · 22/04/2023 19:17

@Booklover88 that's amazing, hope it's starting to feel real for you now 🤩 honestly I know we've all mentioned about struggling with friends announcing pregnancies but it is very different when it's someone who has been going through what you're going through yourself. Positive stories like yours give us all hope when it sometime feels that happy endings don't happen to people in our situation so thanks so much for sharing!!

@WafflesNCream that makes total sense. My luteal phase has been short previous cycles so AF normally arrives before I get round to testing! Hoping letrozole lengthens it this time so if I make it to 12dpo I might start then. Luckily my house went on the market last week so the excitement of viewings and looking for our next place will be a welcome distraction!

@Anon9899 @WafflesNCream @CrispAppleStrudels @Booklover88
Random questions ladies. Have any of you taken Letrozole and your period has got shorter? I've started Letrozole 5mg, it's my second day on them but my period is so light it's almost non existent. My flow before was heavy and clotty for 5/6 days and since these meds it's been 3/4 days lighter and only small clots on day 1/2. Could be totally unrelated but I thought I'd ask.

Anon9899 · 22/04/2023 20:04

@shoegirl36 my period has been super light since coming off the pill full stop really! I went 12 months with nothing and then have had 4 light periods since they returned in December. The one I had end of feb was so light it was literally only red when I wiped and otherwise just spotting on a pad for 2 days. It is disconcerting isnt it, feels like it's a sign not much is going on in there!! It's one of the things I was hoping letrozole would help fix so sorry to hear you fear it's had the opposite effect...

Anotherboredhousewife · 22/04/2023 20:09

@Anon9899 has your consultant mentioned anything more about the lining? Mine is 6mm but apparently that's way to thin to support an egg

shoegirl36 · 22/04/2023 20:58

@Anon9899 I was on the pill for 10 years nearly and not one check by a consultant or even a gp. I had horrible side effects towards the end of it and just had to stop it myself. It was a bad time for me. Since coming off the pill my cycles ranged from 32 up til nearly 90 days. This is why I've started Letrozole. Was almost impossible to track my cycle before Letrozole.
@Anotherboredhousewife I've had a internal ultrasound and they said everything was okay for me, does that include the lining do you think?
