Hi everyone,
Thought I'd create a new thread as the TTC Oct and Nov we're so helpful to me :) There were so many BFPs in the Nov group so statistics doing their thing there will be lots of BFPS in this Dec thread too which is super exciting.

Im currently on CD3 of my 5th cycle TTC #2.

perfect, that blog must have helped so many so hope it helps up! 🙂🤞🏻

Agreed @lottieb92 😊 xxxx

Jennifer89 · 13/03/2023 11:32

@lottieb92 Wish you good luck! I came across a couple on youtube who used these supplements along with fertilily cup after 2 years ttc and they said worked for them..

AlleycatMarie · 13/03/2023 11:34

@lottieb92 @Sierra26 i used a fertility cup for a few months. They take practise and it can be very messy when you take it out! I gave up in the end, because I became convinced I could be trapping speed the wrong side of the cup as I inserted it?!
@Floralsandsmiles I’m going to show this website to dh and see what he thinks, but I agree that they are going to be very invested if they only get paid if it’s a success!

Didnt get a chance to dtd so definitely out now
When will you be testing?
Hope this is your month!

hi @Enn1234 bummer, il be testing next week friday the 24th.

TunnocksTCake · 13/03/2023 13:41

@lottieb92 I would be interested to hear about fertilily experiences too, its something I come to every month and talk myself out of.
@buckingmad sorry you are feeling so down. I had multiple miscarriages before I had my daughter and found it very hard to enjoy her prganancy at all (I didnt buy anything until I was 30 weeks!) but the one thing that helped me even just a little bit was trying to remember that the past doesnt predict the future, they are separate pregnancies, new egg, new sperm and there is every chance the next one will be the sticky one. Also I had a tonne of provate scans. It is so hard when you dont know when or if its ever going to happen but try to keep the faith. A lot of drs think an early miscarriage is a good sign - a lot has to happen for you to get to that point(ovulate, fertilisation, etc) and it's often down to chromosomal issues.

I am CD 13 now and still gettting empty circles on my CB digis. I would usually be flashing by now (wahey!) but guessing my chemical and long bleed have pushed things back. Hoping it will start flashing in the next couple of days! I hate the feeling of time passing and I cant do anything productive, especially after a loss when I'm always thinking I should be xy weeks by now but I know thats silly thinking and the pregnancy would never have lasted.

Great to see you are being proactive with next steps @Floralsandsmiles x

Aww thank you @TunnocksTCake ! I'm trying. I mean I'm not out yet (as I originally thought), it's light spotting since Friday. But most likely I am as that's been normal for me the last few cycles.. holding hope I'm not out yet though.. probably just wishful thinking.

I hope you get your flashing smile and static really soon and am thinking of you! Xxx

hi @Enn1234 bummer, il be testing next week friday the 24th.

sign
Onto the next cycle once period starts

Ooo! Keep us posted! Hopefully its your month :)

Sierra26 · 13/03/2023 14:45

I’ve had weird sequence of CBADs this month…

empty circle cd8-12 FMUs when usually I just get one or two days, so thought ovulation was going to be delayed

flashing smiley yesterday cd13 FMU

did a cheapie this morning with low result so didn’t bother doing my clear blue so not to waste it, but then did it this afternoon anyway and got static smiley

i know Lh is higher in afternoon, but the line didn’t look very strong, so I can’t decide if:
a) it’s a good thing I tested this PM so I caught it, or
b) if I’ve messed it up as my cb reader has been calibrated for weaker LH FMU readings, and so I might have triggered a static too early by giving it a stronger (in relative terms) afternoon reading. Stupidly didn’t dip a cheapie to compare.

any views?!

ill keep doing my cheapies and bbt to confirm…

TunnocksTCake · 13/03/2023 15:04

@Sierra26 I would say that its a good thing you have picked up on the LH surge earlier than you would have otherwise... It could have been flashing still this morning and static tomorrow and I believe they say its ok to test twice a day when in the high fertility days anyway. Likely if you do a cheapy now it will have a higher read this afternoon. Cheapies are better in the pm because you (usually) surge overnight and it takes a while to get into your urine in a high enough concentration for the strips to pick it up. CB digis are more sensitive so can pick it up earlier in the day. Good luck and get bding!

buckingmad · 13/03/2023 15:07

@TunnocksTCake honestly that post has lifted my spirits. You're so right re past not being an indicator of future. It took us 12 months to get even a hint of a positive with our first so to get a positive in our first month of trying is really, really good.

Fingers crossed for sticky beans for us all xx

lottieb92 · 13/03/2023 17:48

welcome new comers, I am so keen to get started this cycle… itching to go 😂
I hope everyone is feeling in good spirits and excited!
Do I start BBT the first day of period?

Jennifer89 · 13/03/2023 18:56

@Fallulah thank you, decided to purchase them to give it a go, they are not as costly as Fertilily and soft discs are from what I have heard popular for people who do home insemination so they must be of some help..
Fingers crossed..

Sierra26 · 13/03/2023 19:09

@lottieb92 I start temping around day 7, just cus it’s nice to take a break from it. As soon as AF comes in ready to forget about it all for a few days. The theory is you need six low readings before three high readings before you can confirm the first highest was your post ovulation rise. So just need to make sure you start early enough to give 6+ readings before you think you’ll ovulate. But if this is your first month I’d maybe start earlier just to get the hang of it.

thanks @TunnocksTCake I’ve just seen that on the cb website to re testing twice per day. Glad I did! Weird as prev months I’ve had some ovul pains but nothing this month and flashing smiley was late so hadn’t expected the static at all. Cheapies are now showing close to peak so off we go!

lottieb92 · 13/03/2023 19:14

Thanks @Sierra26 i usually ovulate later so thanks perfect advice, I’ll try a week before predicted ovulation. It’ll be nice to have a break 😝 and I’m already worried I’ll forget every day! Thanks for the help 🙂

Sierra26 · 13/03/2023 19:18

@lottieb92 no probs. I was so sceptical to begin with as my temps were all over the place. Some months they still are. But I’ve had a few months where it’s been super clear and correlated well with my tests. Eg peak one day and temp is low, Lh falls next day and temp is still low or rising a little, then sharp rise in temp on third day. Confirms I ovulated on the middle day, the day after my Lh peak. Surprisingly satisfying to see!

It does affect my sleep sometimes though - I do sometimes randomly wake in the middle of the night though wondering if it’s time to temp, as you have to do it before moving or even thinking really, so that’s why I like to take a break from it!!

hopeandpray1988 · 13/03/2023 21:15

Hi, can I join
Pink cm tonight so reckon af is on her way - onto the cycle no.4! Ttc baby no.2
Still convinced I've got issues with a short luteal phase after ovulation not sure whether to speak to the docs or not.

buckingmad · 14/03/2023 06:38

@hopeandpray1988 do you take any vitamins? I used to have a luteal phase of about 10 days but since I started taking a pre conception one (seven seas) I ovulate maybe 3-4 days earlier. Might be a coincidence I dunno!

Sierra26 · 14/03/2023 07:41

@hopeandpray1988 @buckingmad i also have relatively short LP (10–11 days) but my main concern is a few days spotting pre AF usually at 9dpo and what that might mean for progesterone. Had private investigations and a scan but all they can do is rule things out, which they did, so no indication of an issue.

I’m taking high dose vit c, vit b complex, folic and Vit d. Cycle 5 or 6, think ive ovulated last night/today, have done everything we can including Dtd this morning… in to the TWW we go!

Sierra26 · 14/03/2023 07:41

@hopeandpray1988 what DPO are you?

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 14/03/2023 07:50

@buckingmad I'm ovulating about 2 to 3 days earlier as well and also taking 7 seas. Interesting x

Peaceandloves · 14/03/2023 11:58

Hi all. After a bit of advice please. I'm swinging on a 23-27 day cycle (unhelpfully) and have decided to try some ovulation testing. At which CD would you suggest starting to test from? Thanks in advance

bringmearainbow · 14/03/2023 12:05

@Peaceandloves I would start as soon as your period ends if it was me you're likely to ovulate on the sooner end if you happen to have a 23 day cycle that time
