@HoneyPea I should be about 7+5 give or take. So I’m hoping to just have an abdominal scan 🤞🤞

how are you doing ?

OP posts:
HoneyPea · 09/03/2023 09:20

@NSx How did your scan go?

NSx · 09/03/2023 12:29

@HoneyPea it’s next Wednesday 😄 the week is dragging in. How are you?

how are the rest of you ladies doing in here? X

OP posts:
NatGee · 09/03/2023 12:37

@NSx @HoneyPea I did wonder if I'd missed the date ha
all good here thanks, cramps and headaches have subsided, only lower back pain and sore boobs.
Did a clearblue test today and it showed 3+ weeks even though my third week from conception isn't until the weekend? Won't be testing any more though

Also found out today my niece is having her second baby today. She lives fairly close to me and is 11 weeks now so I am very happy to have a pregnancy/baby companion nearby :)

How are you feeling @NSx bet you cant wait to meet your baby @allgoodthings84 ?

allgoodthings84 · 09/03/2023 12:54

@NatGee the cb weeks aren’t very accurate and you may have implanted early. I only ever took one of these at 21dpo and got the 3+ but I may have had it sooner if I had tested any sooner

I have awhile until I meet baby I’m not 16 weeks until Saturday 😊 I have booked a private gender scan which is on Mother’s Day as it’s the only day we have free together for the next few weeks. I’ll be 17+1 then. To me it’s a chance to see baby and check all ok and finding out the sex is a bonus. My 20 weeks scan isn’t until 20+6 which is the very latest they are meant to do it as I hit 20 weeks over the Easter bank holiday weekend so I want to check everything is ok before then as it’s still 5 weeks away. I have a feeling I’m going to have a boy but I had that feeling with my daughter so don’t trust my feeling 😂 I’ll be happy with whatever we have as long as all ok

NatGee · 09/03/2023 13:58

@allgoodthings84 hm, how likely is that seeing I bbt religiously? I'd be more inclined to say the test is inaccurate 😅
Youre well into your second trimester woo hoo can't wait til we're there too Have you told work yet? How did they take it?
I suppose if you were wrong the first time you could be wrong again and I agree with you, a healthy baby is all that matters
I am in two minds whether id like to find out the gender or not. Still a while to go until I cross that bridge :)

allgoodthings84 · 09/03/2023 14:56

@NatGee some people just have higher HCG levels earlier than others too but yea I’ve read that some people gets 3+ really early and others never get a 3+ so don’t think they are that accurate but seeing the 3+ definitely makes you feel better 😊

I had to tell my manager and the big boss at 9 weeks as they painted all of the downstairs floor using industrial solvent paint which isn’t great for baby so I needed to be moved to a different part of the building.

I’m meant to be having my 16 weeks midwife appointment next week but it’s now done on the phone where I live (see them at 24 weeks in person whereas that doesn’t happen most places after first pregnancy) and I can’t get through to them to find out when and she’s not responding to my text or email. It’s annoying as I can’t have my phone on loud all week at work so need to know what day at least. They are rubbish at getting back to you here.

HoneyPea · 09/03/2023 15:13

@NSx @NatGee 🤦‍♀️ I'll just blame it on baby brain, I saw Weds and that was all!
I'm ok thanks, just constantly tired still at the moment. 13 and a half weeks at the moment. Had some heavy bleeding at 11weeks but they couldn't see why.

@allgoodthings84 Thats strange they do it over the phone as they usually take urine samples etc. Ive got mine booked in for the end of the month.

NSx · 09/03/2023 19:15

@NatGee oh I am struggling. The nausea is real, all I want to do is curl up in bed, but I have to goto work which is soul destroying 🥲
im glad you’re not having many symptoms honestly it’s the worst .. did you find out when your first scan is? Mine is the 15th so I will keep you posted then.
@HoneyPea baby brain/fog is real 😅🥹 I’m so tired all the time I don’t know how I’m going to survive: how are u getting on?
@allgoodthings84 i feel like your weeks are going so fast & mine are going so slow! 😂😅 do you have any symptoms 🥹

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 09/03/2023 20:27

@NSx trust me it’s not going fast at all. My 12 weeks scan was only 3 weeks ago but feels like months ago. I don’t have any symptoms now. They have all gone. The symptoms in my first trimester were horrendous though. I ended up on anti sickness medication because the nausea was so bad 24/7. I wasn’t actually sick but wish I was so there would have been some let up from it. I was exhausted all the time. I had nosebleeds. I had heartburn. My boobs were agony. They started to ease around 11-12 weeks when the placenta takes over and now they are gone. I feel like I’m not pregnant at all. I hated the symptoms but they stopped me worrying. Can’t win 😂

NatGee · 15/03/2023 23:01

@NSx how did the scan go? Xx

NSx · 16/03/2023 23:16

@NatGee hi 🤍 sorry I thought I came on here & updated.
scan went absolutely fine, measured at 8+1 😁 …they did an abdominal scan and I could see the babies heartbeat, yolk sack and little arm/leg buds
booked for my nipt in 2 weeks 🤞✨

how are u getting on?

OP posts:
NatGee · 17/03/2023 16:59

@NSx hello! you probably did update but perhaps it was a different thread? Oh I am very glad to hear it all went well, congratulations, you were able to see their arms too how precious :) very exciting times, I look forward to hearing how it all progresses

Oh, Id really like to do NIPT but I am suspecting you have to do it privately? Which is fine with me if that is the case, just wish the NHS would just offer it straight away its so much less invasive

Going well thanks, 6 weeks tomorrow and the nausea and fatigue are beginning to rear their ugly head. apart from that no other symptoms.
My booking appointment and 12 week scan have all been booked and I am also interviewing doulas at the moment. Not many cover my area so a bit tricky to even have a pool to interview from.

How are you feeling, generally?

NatGee · 17/03/2023 17:02

@allgoodthings84 oh I am glad symptoms have stopped for you. My sister felt sick throughout her pregnancy with both her children. I hope she falls in the minority cos I've had a whiff of nausea and it's really not nice. Its like a hangover without the alcohol
I hope your 20 week scan goes well, Its on the same day as my booking appointment :)

@HoneyPea how are you getting on? Has the bleeding stopped xx

allgoodthings84 · 17/03/2023 17:29

@NSx thats great news the scan went so well and over 8 weeks already! Won’t be long until your 12 week scan!

@NatGee yea I’m really glad my nausea doesn’t last all of my pregnancies. It ended similar kind of time with my daughter too. I still get the odd bout of nausea but not every day even let alone constantly like it was. I’ve got a private gender scan booked for Sunday. I’m excited and scared all at once. I’ll be 17 weeks tomorrow. I think I’ve felt light movements in last few days but not entirely sure. I’ve got an anterior placenta again so it’s really gentle and not very often. I know it’s not gas as doesn’t feel like that but it’s not strong enough or regular enough yet for me to be like yep that’s baby. It’s been more than 8 years since I was this stage with my daughter so I can’t really remember how it felt at the beginning but know it wasn’t until after 20 weeks I felt anything at all with her.

NSx · 19/03/2023 08:35

@NatGee hi 🤍 sorry been a wild couple days…
So yea it was lovely to see the little bean, we won’t see them again now until our 12 week scan which is more like 13 weeks as it’s on 19/04 so an age away!
We’re having the NIPT on the NHS as I had a baby last year with a chromosomal issue. They actually offered the CVS and Amnio too but I want to start with something less evasive. The only diff is that the NHS NIPT doesn’t tell you the gender, but we don’t want to know anyway, so it’s fine. Doing the NIPT on the 28th along with my booking appt, so something to break things up a bit until next month.
I have heard a few people mention Doula’s what is it they do? did they give you a date for your scan already? 🤍 how exciting. Any more new symptoms?

@allgoodthings84 for me it seems like time is moving so slowly 😂 but I’m trying to keep myself busy more than anything. How are u doing?

OP posts:
NatGee · 19/03/2023 14:41

@allgoodthings84 Sunday as in today sunday? If so, are you having a boy or a girl? Very exciting indeed :) you're so close to the 20 week mark that to be fair it could well be your baby. I'm sure these milestones are simple guidelines all babies are so different. It's been a while since your last but can you remember whether the symptoms you're having now are different from your first?

@NSx good luck with the NIPT, makes sense for it to be recommended. Ill definitely ask for one at my booking appointment or pay for one. Yeah my scan is booked for the 26th April and I'll be just shy of 12 weeks. Doulas are there to provide emotional and mental support, during pregnancy, labour and post labour. They are experienced and could be medically trained (former nurses or midwives for example) but aren't there to provide medical support. My mother's no longer with us so I thought itd be good for my DH and I to have someone with experience to help us navigate this phase of our lives. My nausea has begun and it's so debilitating. Yesterday was bad, today not so much. How about you? Are those days now mostly behind you? They say they get worse at 9 weeks or so...

Actually now that I'm here, I woke up to some brown spotting when I wiped. There hasn't been anymore since and I have no pain or cramps. Should I be worried or can it be normal?

allgoodthings84 · 19/03/2023 14:56

@NSx @NatGee I’m all good. Just got back from my scan and it’s a healthy looking little GIRL! I’m in shock as every nub theory group all said boy. I thought it looked like a girl on nub but everyone convinced me boy. It’s definitely a girl 😂

@NatGee I had brown spotting at 13.5 weeks and all was fine. Midwife wasn’t even concerned but I got my GP to refer me to EPU as midwives wouldn’t because of my history. All was fine though

NSx · 19/03/2023 16:07

@NatGee I’m so sorry to hear about your mother, a doula does seem wonderful in that case 🤍 ..
yes I was offered a few different things but I don’t want to risk a miscarriage doing something invasive if there are no worrying signs. I had an amnio last time and didn’t miscarry so I do know it can be safe, but there were reasons why I had it last time as things were picked up with bloods and scans. So I would rather wait and see what my bloods/12 week scan and NIPT say before having anything risky. I’m hoping and praying Lightning doesn’t strike twice and everything is ok this time around 🤞 .. I’ll be 9 weeks on Tuesday and to be honest I’ve spent the last 2 days in bed. I went out to a concert on Friday and honestly I haven’t recovered 😂😅 .. they say when the placenta kicks in things get better, but I’m a few weeks away from that yet - the nausea is horrendous - I’ve only been physically sick 3 times so far.
I don’t know about spotting as I’ve not had any myself however I’ve read many ladies get it and it’s all ok, so try not to worry

@allgoodthings84 awww congratulations 💕💞💓 a baby girl! How lovely, a sister for your daughter.
im convinced I’m having a girl as my skin has been awful again, however I will know more at my 12 week scan, we’re not finding out though but will hazard a guess at the nub theory too 🤍

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 19/03/2023 17:10

@NSx the couple of the nub theory expert Facebook pages all said I was having a boy from the nub theory but they were wrong. The sonographer today said the nub theory is definitely just a theory that has a lot of holes.

HoneyPea · 19/03/2023 18:07

@NatGee All good here. 15weeks yesterday and haven't had any bleeding for 3weeks 😊 I've heard brown blood is fine as it's old blood. Mine was a big red bleed and then light pink when wiping for a week or so.
@allgoodthings84 A little girl, very exciting 💗
@NSx Ive had experience of carrying both and I have no idea what this baby is. I was very sick (multiple times a day) with our son and not so much with our little girl (just felt sick) This time I've felt sick and been sick a few times so 🤷‍♀️ My skin has been terrible this time, can't remember what it was like before.

NSx · 19/03/2023 19:17

@allgoodthings84 I successfully guessed my 2 best friends pregnancies with the nub theory so who knows 😂😅

@HoneyPea my skin was a mess last year with my girl and it’s exactly the same now so that’s why I’m guessing girl, could be absolutely wrong though 😂😂😂

OP posts:
HoneyPea · 19/03/2023 19:41

@NSx I don't think you can see the nub on my 12wk scan but not really sure what I'm looking for!

NSx · 19/03/2023 21:10

Nub theory

try clicking on that. That might explain things better @HoneyPea

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 19/03/2023 21:24

My skin is completely clear and was with my daughter too. Then again I very rarely get spots so I wouldn’t take that as anything for me.
