Going into only my second cycle and feeling a bit meh, was definitely naive to how long it may take. Im 30, partner is 33.

How long did it take you and what worked for you?

How do I survive the emotionally draining process of tcc?

I conceived first cycle trying, second since stopping the pill after 12 years. I miscarried though. That was Xmas day.

I've just found out I'm pregnant again yesterday after having my period back 19th Jan.

Obviously anxious that my issue is carrying and not conceiving.

I'm 31. Partner is 35.

So sorry to hear what you've been through, I feel like misscarriage/chemical pregnancies etc are not talked about enough as its kind of the norm to keep so quiet about pregnancy in the early days.

Congratulations on your pregnancy - I really hope you can relax enough to enjoy it and that everything goes well❤️

I had a shit show of a cycle this month, first month ttc of course. Period is usually 27/28 days but was 25 /26 the last months. I've only properly came on today after some spotting, and 30062727 negative tests, day 32. Stupid body.

It's an absolute mindfield isn't it!

Just have sex as often as possible to cover all bases!!

3 years for ds, currently cycle #27 for dc2 I'm 32, was 24 when we first started trying had just turned 28 when I finally fell pregnant.

Number1number2 · 12/02/2023 18:08

If you want to go the whole hog, OPKs to pinpoint ovulation, pre-seed lube and loosely follow SMEP (sex every other day and the on the day of positive OPKs, the next day and the next day)

Worked for us first cycle aged 28 and third cycle aged 31

Good luck! (And ignore the bitter people telling you to get a grip....)

UnaVaca · 12/02/2023 18:09

It will happen ❤️

thaegumathteth · 12/02/2023 18:12

6 months with ds and 9 months with Dd - I was 24/27. I didn't do any charting etc just had sex. Don't overthink it.

strawberryandcreams · 12/02/2023 18:14

One time with DC1. One month with DC2

TTC #3 and we're onto month 13.
You'll find a way to survive. You also could conceive next cycle which is no time at all

Chip131 · 12/02/2023 18:15

@Mushroomtaxi Yeah, I know, I agree I'm being a dick and I'm sorry, I just wanted to vent. I know people have it so much harder and I'm sorry if me saying that has pissed anyone off.

Just for some context though, I've been waiting to try for about 2 years. So kinda pinned all my hopes on it which I know is dumb!

@Number1number2 thank you, I have just bought some ovulation sticks and pre seed- I wanted to be more 'relaxed' , but clearly thats not going to work for me😂

Yes. Seriously it's been one cycle, how is that emotionally draining!? Maybe scan a few threads for perspective? Who is supposed to answer this and to what end?

Chip131 · 12/02/2023 18:18

@Hummusanddipdip good luck, I'm sorry if me moaning has triggered you in anyway when you had such a long time of it❤️

I have perspective. I just thought this was a safe space I could vent. Clearly not...

9 years and 5 cycles of IVF, my 3rd cycle of donor eggs worked in then end and then a natural surprise 7 months later

Chip131 · 12/02/2023 18:31

@Lauren83 thats amazing❤️

ttcttc · 12/02/2023 18:32

@Mushroomtaxi just because people have it harder doesn't mean she can't be anxious
, pissed off etc. you could have scrolled past - you've not been helpful to the thread

Emilia35 · 12/02/2023 18:32

1st pregnancy (DC1) - 3 cycles
2nd pregnancy (MMC) - 1 cycle
3rd pregnancy (21 weeks currently) - 6 cycles

If you have sex at the right time every month, you have something like 25% chance of conceiving, so it's a game of chance really. Why don't you instead expect it to take up to a year, since it can do, and anything less is a big bonus? I think testing and obsessing so early on will stress you out, and stress makes it less likely to conceive successfully. Good luck!

IsItBedtimeYetNope · 12/02/2023 18:32

It took us 7 years and 5 miscarriages to get DC1. This is a long game OP, buckle up.
