Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

@PeopleAreToads that looks like a line to me :) test in the morning!

Mummymidwife33 · 08/02/2023 14:24

@PeopleAreToads OMG yes that's a positive all right! Congrats!

Mummymidwife33 · 08/02/2023 14:30

@Floralsandsmiles sorry AF has arrived. I'm
Not sure about the spotting then arriving. I know I sometimes get that but not sure if means anything.

@buckingmad the drip is so hard going! I think ultimately it's not down to how tough someone is it's a combination of factors and the drip plus back to back in your first labour is a double whammy. Each birth and baby is so different you can never predict it. I think it's nice to have something to aim for though. I'm going to aim for another homebirth but I'm well aware that I'm 11 years older than the last one (although 10 stone lighter!) and that also anything could happen to make me higher risk during pregnancy/labour. Whatever happens we'll just deal with it at the time. Feels like a million hurdles to get past before I can even dare to dream of birth and an actual baby!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 08/02/2023 14:31

Congrats Toads!

Had the phone call from the clinic. They will be commencing the tests on my next cycle so the start of March. Will be having Day 3 and Day 21 bloods and a scan.

PeopleAreToads · 08/02/2023 13:57

After saying I wouldn't test early after the disappointment of last months chemical, I caved fully expecting it to be negative as no symptoms and had loads with the chemical

I'm 10/11 dpo - could this be an evap? Wasn't even fmu so don't want to get my hopes up, and wanted some opinions before I spoke to DH

This looks like a line to me! Tentative congratulations and sticky baby dust xxxx

Thank you @Mummymidwife33 . It's honestly so weird and desperately don't want to get ovulation dates wrong! 😫 xxx

How’s everyone today?

I’m on CD12, not actively TTC this month but making sure I take all vitamins etc and really excited to start.

Though, a question for anyone who’s TTC no.2, no.3 or no.4…. I don’t know if it’s normal to be like this but I am already worrying! I’m very excited but go through moments of thinking, am I cut out for this, what if it changes our relationship and life for the worse, etc. Silly thinking and I’m mostly positive but I also have these doubts about myself!

buckingmad · 08/02/2023 16:55

@happyfeet5 I'd actually say I'm panicking more at TTC#2 than I did for 1 😂 I am completely and utterly obsessed with my little girl and I know that I will feel the same about subsequent children but I just can't imagine having enough emotional space inside me for it! I also really worry about not being able to give DD1 the one to one attention she is used to, but then also worried that baby2 will never get that same one to one attention!

I think it's perfectly natural to have wobbles though, it's a huge lifechanging commitment. But for me personally it has made me a better person, made my life 100x richer (the opposite effect money wise haha) and I wouldn't change anything.

Mummyme87 · 08/02/2023 17:03

@buckingmad i had a VBAC for my 2nd. Had previously had an emergency CS at 9cm for abnormal CTG/infection/stuck at 9cm. He was 4.7kg and super poorly in NNU for 10days so was the right decision.
2nd was induced for likely late onset diabetes and had a VBAC which didn’t go totally to plan, but it happened and retrospectively I am happy. Would definitely aim for another VBAC if I am lucky enough to be pregnant again.

@PeopleAreToads congratulations! That’s definitely a positive ♥️

Freya8 · 08/02/2023 17:22

@happyfeet5 will be ttc baby no 2 for us soon and im abso petrified! Were as back then i was pretty much clueless. Im already setting myself up for failure as i plan to come off my pill next week but i am already thinking oh gosh what if i dont actually ovulate.. what if these pregnacare tablets will stall my ovulation .. my head is a mess of all sorts and yes its just been us 3 as a family for 6 years i cant even imagine that being a 4 at the minute! Lol

LeopardLover · 08/02/2023 18:51

@happyfeet5 Oh yes, I definitely remember feeling like that before I fell pregnant. Your life does change and things are harder (less sleep and less money) but it's the most incredible experience ever! And I felt it brought us closer as we were in the trenches together 🤣

I'm not concerned about doing it all again but a bit like @buckingmad, I'm not sure how I could love another kid as much as I love my son! But they say you just make space. It's so exciting!

LeopardLover · 08/02/2023 18:52

@PeopleAreToads Congratulations! Such amazing news! 💖

Floralsandsmiles · 08/02/2023 19:57

@happyfeet5 I am also TTC #2 and am worrying as it was a long time ago I had my first and worrying about how much older I am now and if I've missed my window or if something happens as risks are Higher.. however my main concern us if I'm cut out to do this (second guessing myself) and if I have enough love for both. Hi ladies, 7dpo here and sadly no symptoms though I know there’s still hope this month as still early! Had sore boobs til 6dpo but think it must have been a symptom of my ovulation as it’s gone now! So funny isn’t it wanting sore boobs or nausea or some kind of symptom 🤣. I am staying off most social media at the moment as all I was seeing is pregnancy announcements and it was getting me down. I haven’t been eating very well this month so really need to get back on that too. Gah it’s such an emotional rollercoaster.

NoodleQueen90 · 09/02/2023 07:16

Well...BFN yesterday for me and AF has arrived today but...I'm actually quite relieved to have a real period after 17 years on the pill! So I guess this is my first real cycle day 1.

Almondbut · 09/02/2023 07:50

Congrats to all the BFPs…I think I’m joining you! 🤞

Afternoon ladies,

what apps do you use to track? I had Ovia but I’ve received an email to say it’s closing next month. I don’t really want to pay for one.

also I had sudden cramps yesterday over an hour and lower back ache. Period is due Sunday and my boots hcg strips are neg, I really don’t know what’s happening. With my other 2 babies I knew I was pregnant within a week of ovulation and I don’t get that feeling this time however the pain was strange

Similar position to you here @noodlequeen90.
I'm CD4 and just had my first "real" period for 12 years. So relieved to have had a normal cycle since stopping the pill last month - definitely something I'd been worrying about as some sources say stop contraceptives 3months before TCC to build up sufficient uterine lining.

I ovulate D18 so if you're similar we'll be cycle buddies 😊

NoodleQueen90 · 09/02/2023 13:46

@AlbaGracie I was worrying a bit too. I haven't tracked ovulation yet...was going to just DTD a lot from next week until the end of the month and see how that goes...DP is on board with that plan 😂 if nothing this cycle then I might buy opk's or a thermometer and track bbt. How do you track it?

MummyBear2519 · 09/02/2023 15:24

Needing help. AF is now 3 days late apart from a single very light spot Monday morning. Getting lots of pregnancy symptoms but test was negative. Any one had something similar? Going to try and speak to the doctor Monday as I’ve only ever been late because of pregnancy

I used OPKs last month and will do again this month in case my cycle length varies post-pill. We tried to DTD every other day last month but we were exhausted by the end so going to try targeting specific weeks now 😂

Do you track ovulation and if yes, how many days post ovulation are you? Wondering if you ovulated late and didn't realise..

If you read further up the thread it looks some people don't get a BFP until 10-14 days post ovulation so maybe testing too early?

Fingers crossed you've got your dates wrong and it's implementation bleeding x

NoodleQueen90 · 09/02/2023 17:32

@AlbaGracie that's a good plan instead of just worrying for a month like I did, which OPK's do you use?

WolfMother326 · 09/02/2023 19:14

Did anyone who got a BFP experience nausea before a missed period?
